Really nice build! Regarding P-traps, there is an in-line trap called HepVo. It has a one way membrane valve and eliminates the need for a vent as well.
@InspiredByBrad
@InspiredByBrad Год назад
A small window or sealable vent on the side of the shower allows humid air to be pushed outside via the pressure of a rooftop MaxFan set to pull air in reverse. We do this in our Pleasure Way Ascent with the furnace running when we shower and warm dry air is pumped into the shower.

Looking good so far. My issues is I would have 5200'd inside the whole length of the overlap of the panels then caulked the inside seams to prevent 'sharp edges'. I'm surprised that they didn't manufacture with some sort of interlocking seams with that price... Under the pan, I would have placed a small wedge (1/2" pitch in one direction or another (towards the drain) to help with drainage, too.
@AlexVineyard
@AlexVineyard 3 года назад
I was thinking the same thing about a wedge to create a slope

Seems like a better no hassle solution would be to have a lower bowl (square) shaped pan below with a slotted floor above. Otherwise his current setup or even sloped floor would be a pain in the ass unless the van is perfectly leveled. Agree with running walls to the floor of the pan. His current setup is pretty awful. Once he gets some weight and vehicle twisting twisting that thing is going to leak at the seams, mold, and eventually cause a load of problems.

Awesome build! You could put a Teak floor in your shower. A lot of sail boats and yachts use it because it's extremely dense wood, which makes it practically water proof. 🤓👍🏽😁

You can make chrome finish look satin by scuffing it with a automotive scuff pad. sand(scuff) in same direction that match your others.
@MrRShoaf
@MrRShoaf 3 года назад
This would depend on what the valve is made from. Let's say the valve is made from a diecast material that is chrome plated. If you scuffed the chrome the zinc will be exposed and corrode under the remaining chrome, and then the chrome would peel. This is not good. I suggest leaving it alone.

To do your caulking run a bead down where you want it to go, making sure there are no holes. Then get some diluted detergent in a spray bottle and spray the bead. This will ensure that when you run your finger down it won’t spread. Works perfectly every time.

I have the yitahome 5 gal portable toilet and it comes with the sink with hand pump, if you guys don't want to deal with plumbing in your rigs, this set is on sale alot and they have a cheaper version for 150$ definitely a great setup for budget builds. In terms of a shower run propane through a tankless heater to a small shower:) I have a cargo trailer I've been building for awhile

Nice job, although I do think you’ll have to move the shower drain tube up higher onto the grey tank. We also have a flat shower pan, and it is something I regret that we didn’t add some pitch. It is a pain to clear standing water - we do have a teak shower mat, but it still needs to be dried after each use. We use a squeegee and our dust pan. Definitely not my favorite activity.

Hi, Steven: You couldn't find a lake to shower in?, state parks are full of them... The shower you're installing is very nice and you are the only one who has to look, at the fixtures when you are in the shower. Personally, as long as the shower works and the difference in color tone, is very slight then I don't normally get irked about the color of my fixtures.. Part of the spread issues of the caulking could be caused by the material being used for the shower...You could always find a material to cover the interior of the shower that you like better, which is waterproof and will cover the caulking issues.. While you can caulk aluminum and rivet it to use as an interior for a shower, normally it is soldiered or welded together...

From the position of the toilet vent hole it looks like you are placing the toilet on the same wall as the shower fixtures. I would have placed it opposite. I use a shower chair in my shower - and the most useful position is sitting down facing the shower fixtures. This is the common Japanese sitting shower position too, where they use tiny stools on the floor facing the fixtures. With the toilet opposite, it serves as your shower chair - useful for me because of leg injuries, useful to you because of your unreasonable height. I'd also have a second lower shower head holder that is optimized for sitting down. The high one is for full body rinsing of your front and back while standing. If that sounds useful for your situation - you could still just switch the use of the two shower pan holes to the new configuration.
