Back in 1999 when I started to lose my eyesight my wife came home one day and bought me an audio Bible containing 61 CDs. Long story short. I’ve been listening to the Bible cover to cover two times a year for the past 20 years now. It has truly changed my life. This year is the first time that I have a group (about 18 of us) Doing this together. God is so good! God bless you all

I think it's a real shame that there are dislikes on this video, a real shame, and may God forgive you people who did that. Aww I love you sooo much sis✨ Ohhh no short cuts here... Why!? That would only hurt me I WOULDN'T grow spiritual. I can see how much I've grown my husband can tell too😮 for me That's all that matter. God has a plan for me and boy did He keep me fired up. And on those days when I didn't feel like reading well that was OK TOO!! He sent me that one bible or sister that I needed to help get me excited all over again 💕✏📖

When I am studying I want a study bible with lots of information and commentary but when I am reading all of that distracts me from the word because I want to stop and read the commentary etc. also. I agree that you just have to read and let the holy spirit teach you along the way.
I agree...when I am in study mode that is what I want to do..pull out all my tools but when I just want to read and soke it up anf let God teach me I am in a whole different mind set
Way to go Cat! I will be reading the KJV through next year but I will be reading the NKJV and NIV in 6 months each next year. 1st the NKJV then the NIV.

Love this video thank you so much. I use a reading plan to follow from the bible app and I wrote the reading plan in an undated planner so I can mark and have that visual. My goal is to read the whole bible in 1 year or less if possible. It has me reading in the OT and NT the same day and the stories criss cross - and oh my I'm getting so much out of reading this way this year. I using a HCSB notetaking bible and also using a commentary to make notes and add prayers for my family in the bible. Retaining so much more making so many more connections reading it this way. The bible you showed with the flower chapter markers is lovely. Going to check that out thank you.

I cannot follow a reading plan either, so I read from beginning to end and yes, it takes about 6 months. I pick a new version each time through, which is easy since I use only electronic bibles. I want to avoid over familiarity as it is so easy to zone out when I know the wording too well. Also I pick a study topic each time so I pay attention to how that is handled each time I encounter it. I don’t go in depth, just get a good overview. I use a simple page in my bullet journal to track my reading. The books are listed with the number of chapters. When I finish a book, I write in the date. The key though is to find your own reading style and go with that.

@@catwoods5499 thank you so much for your encouraging words. My brother finished it in 27 days only because we were on Summer Vacation for 55 days. He had plenty of time to invest in reading Bible through out the day. He would spend around 5 to 6 hours a day. 2 hours in the Morning. 2 in the Evening and 2 in the Night. Sometimes even longer. That's what helped him. However, I understand that you study Bible in your spare time and you are to be rewarded. Great work 👏🙏
@@samzero00james I don't watch TV so I have a lot of time I desonate time for my daily reading and I set up different times for my bible study. I believe it's the best way to really get both in. I'll like to tackle a 30 day reading just to see if I can do it. However I'll wait on the Lord to help show me when is a good time for me. Right now I barely have any time for anything new. We all learn differently; are motivated differently. Cat sounds like she is a visual learner. Praise God! What is important is discovering your learning style. Once you settle that, study in that vein, and it will be fruitful for you. Reading through the Bible is vastly different than studying Scripture. My first three years as a Christian, I would read the OT once yearly, Psalm twice yearly, Proverbs monthly and the NT twice yearly. After those three years, the Lord led me to begin serious, indepth study of Scripture. In study it is not quantity, but quality of digging into the Word of God. Being not a visual learner, I enjoy reading and digging into the Word to get the fuller meaning. Morphology word studies are my excitement. Pretty Bibles don't arrest my attention. Find out what works for you, for that will be instrumental in what you look for in a Bible. Enjoy how the Holy Spirit leads you in your study, and always be willing to share the nuggets of wisdom that you receive in your study. I always pray "Holy Spirit open the eyes of my understanding that I might discover the wisdom and revelation contained in Your Word." The Holy Spirit has not failed me yet!!
I love fondling the paper in the Schuyler LOL and the Crossway Omega 80th. when I open them I touch the pages. a Bible needs to 'feel' right and look right and just be 'right' for me. I have TONS of them - feel guilty and overwhelmed sometimes- and trying to pick the one for my yearly reading plan was a challenge. I finally grabbed my Schuyler NKJV. I may skip around to different Bibles though. I'm reading through the NASB in an Allan Bible but I'm reading sorta randomly - did Mark and started in Genesis and Matthew at the same time - still in Genesis. I'll probably go through the first 5-8 in order but mix in the NT book by book. I like the discipline of a 'plan' but also the freedom of just picking up a Bible and reading. I wish I had more time. Want to get back to my Turquoise as well but Bible studies at church are starting back next week (though I'm working..sigh) and I love the Bible studies there.I like the CBP Turquoise- I got mine earler this year before the changed. I think the paper is better in this one but I like the dictionary in mine - actually used it more than a few times... their Thompson chain reference large print is amazing too.
Ohhh I have both Turquoise & TCR bible from CBP and love love them. They are my very 1st premium Bible. Some will not call them premium Bibles but to me they are I don't have an allen I do love my Skyler and Humble Lamb... I'm 100% with you a bible just has to feel right from the binding to the paper on the way down to the way it just melts in your hands... I'm already subscribed and in your FB group - I keep forgetting my username here doesn't put my name - Susanna! I consider CBP premium - I actually love the feel of them more than some of the other premiums I have. I love Bibles but I really overwhelmed myself accumulating so many! makes it hard to choose one and 'settle' down and I feel bad about not getting to all of them. I keep thinking I'll figure something out LOL! have some ideas but waiting on God and to make my way through and see. some study Bibles I have I want to sit down and go through - I have some really nice ones. and like you said, I get sidetracked reading all the notes and articles and commentary LOL! I do the yearly plan mainly to just read so I picked the Schuyler NKJV for that since it's 'plain' and feels great and the print and contrast is awesome for me to read comfortably. I do add in the focus the plan I'm following offers and a Psalm book that I like really well (Sing a New Song by Lydia Brownback). the main focus is to read the selection for the day though then add in the other if I have time.

Love your videos. How do you store all of your bibles? With all of those stickers they won't fit back into the boxes. So do you still keep the boxes even if the bible won't fit back into the box?
you have beautiful bibles. How do you afford a bible that costs $150 dollars, several of them, especially when you have children. I keep a tight budget.
I have to save up for any bible I want no matter the cost. I literally save my pennies. The Lord has blessed me with so many amazing sisters in Christ and Bible publishers that has LISTEN TO THE LORD and has blessed me with many if them. I always tell people when they ask this question. You can ask for bibles for your birthday & Christmas. Really pay attention to were your money is going if you REALLY want one of the premium Bibles... It's not like they are so high priced that they are out of this world to reach. It's ONLY A Few Hundred Dollar. Come on the phone you have cost way more than that😉 I wish I had the right answer but I don't I only know the Lord has open up all the doors
