Thanks for covering genetics. I had no idea that many disease causing genes are found every year! Now I understand why they keep sending patients back so many times for genetic testing. This has been very enlightening! Hopefully the gene discoveries will enable a more targeted treatment or even a cure to happen sooner. This effects everyone. I appreciate Lucas taking the time to be interviewed too.👍👍

Wow thank you for putting this out! I did not have near that level of understanding of genetics that I do just from listening to you today. I’m clearly not an expert but I’m a perserverer (is that a word?...or one of those red floaty rings the coast guard throws out to sea when performing rescues?🥸?) just kidding, I know you know. Because although I am likely older than your mum , I’ve can relate to decades of odd & scary, and deadly, unexplainable conditions/symptoms, etc for most of my life but nobody’s has ever even suggested genetic testing to see why this is happening, or whether anything is related at all. Which now I can ask about. Of course in Canada, things for dr office visits and ER visits are covered by the high taxes we pay into, nothing much else is but then we have a very underreported, almost purposely so, amount of drs, and Specialists even taking new patients. (if you finally do get to “see” someone, where I am, you can wait 2+yrs for elective but necessary surgeries, and that’s after your avg 18-24 months to see the specialist)......which rumour says now that covid showed up and has been ravaging the planet for the past 17+ months , these wait times will double. So instead of being able to walk, due to my body, etc, plus 2 back to back car wrecks 2.5 yrs ago I need two new knees (like 5 yrs ago) and now likely hips and ankles etc within ten yrs at most. And that’s if I stay wheelchair bound. It’s ridiculous. Sorry to complain, I’m just sharing these big painful, anxiety ridden, frustrating, scary, daunting feelings that I’ve had to keep to myself my whole life. And I want to thank you as I’ve tried to keep up on how you’ve been the past two yrs. I’m glad they finally have answers and although they are not ideal or an easy fix , there may become something available to help you sooner than later. I’m so happy they found your heart condition, as I have to thank my own husband for performing cpr on me 5.5 yrs ago, as I was out for the count, at least 12-15 minutes no breath and no pulse, blue already in my hands and face(so they suspect before he found me slumped in my office seat forward on my desk that I’d been gone for longer, but matters not, what matters is God has planned my life in a way that at my age now I can see exactly when he carried me. Each time he protected me. Etc. I’ve been lucky my husband has worked from home for a long time as each time I have a grand mal seizure he’s always been here to call 911. It’s a hard road But God is faithful and loving and I don’t know what I would have done without my faith. I’m glad you have your Faith as well. 💜🥰🙏 I I’ll lol be checking up again to see how your doing, congratulations again on your beautiful wedding and marriage. He is a sweet young man. I can tell your parents are incredible as well and they look at him as their Son.🌸🥰❤️have some fun whenever you can! Xo

Because of the sheer amount of issues that come with EDS and comorbidities it looks very close to MITO. My neuro suspected that but what looks more likely is an autoimmune running along side my other things. I have many gene mutations and 2 of them have created more questions over answers. I hope you continue putting your puzzle together!

I just found you while searching vitamin medication storage. Saw the feeding tube, took one look at your facial features and thought EDS! I have EDS too and many of these symptoms and issues. God bless you, you’re in my prayers xxx

Do you happen to have an MTHFR mutation? If you have a mitochondrial disorder, or MTHFR mutation, vaccines may be particularly harmful to your health..... among many drugs.... (inability to detox drugs quickly enough, not to be injured = MTHFR in a nut shell)

This was so insightful! I've been trying to find for a RU-vid video like yours that really explains the stuff in this video. That part at 1:05 is my favorite. Your tip is similar to the vids from Dr. Ethan! Doctor's demonstrations are insightful and he helped me a lot on my studies! He is an educational med student in Nottingham and he talks about medical school. I suggest you watch his channel out and give the Dr a like! 👉 #MedicalStudentEthan
