In this video I recreate the Mewtwo of Mihn Ba Le, a competitive Pokemon Player who won the Journey Across America National Championship. This tournament series is a precursor to modern VGC games, and is very similar to the 2010 event. I have to make my way through Pokemon Emerald, Pokemon Fire Red, Pokemon XD(twice) without any glitches or hacks.

Could you have reverse-engineered the TID/SID combo required to make that a shiny Mewtwo as well?? Would really take this borderline-impossible Mewtwo one step further

you actually can, because of how the rng works in gen 3/4 PID is tied to the stat spread of the pokemon so plugging in the required stats and nature for this mewtwo gets you 3 possible pids on method 1 being 6937DA48, 685011A9, and F9426F72 which you could then rng your TID/SID or use ACE to change it to whatever combo would get you a shiny

On the point of synchronize, it not only didn't work on legendaries, it plain doesn't work at all in Fire Red & Leaf Green

I love that you have to put in the fact of soft resetting for over 100 years for it to occur because a lot of the fan base purists are so dense they don’t understand you can’t just soft reset for anything just to say they’re not a “hAcKeR”. Like you can still find a way to get what you want without it being a hack they don’t seem to understand that. At the end of the day it’s all make believe and you should be able to spawn what you want, as long as its legal in terms of something like stats that aren’t possible(maxed out 31 ivs are fine) or having moves or abilities that were never realeased for said Pokémon. If nothing is out of the realm of what’s capable with a Pokémon through events and or rng it’s all fair game.

Yes but you would need to already have a shiny to find it or be able to see the save (im assuming you are on cartridge). You would need a gba dumper and something to see the save in. Ex:PKSM

People seldom have enough free time (or resources, i.e multiple consoles and/or cartridges) to pull a soft reset marathon, so this is a good alternative to get guaranteed results in a quick manner.

The winner didn't RNG manip or use a GameShark, just soft resetting, and its IVs were significantly worse

And there wouldn’t be anything wrong with his mewtwo if it was through rng manipulation with 6perfect ivs and nature as there’s not anything out of the realm of what’s possible like 999 in all stats or an unattainable ability that mewtwo normally doesn’t have. If the stats were generated through the game and don’t go over what their max 31 ivs with full ev investment allows then it’s perfectly ok and fair game.
