You gotta remember that this game is in Alpha. These people doing this now are all serving us a huge favor by ensuring they can't do it later by forcing CiGs hand to patch it.
The reason he was still there might just be because he was waiting for more Slam to appear. Drugs appear in small amounts at 10-15 min intervals so to fill up your ship you have load up and wait then load up and wait...etc. He would probably go afk while waiting so would not know you were talking and his character would just keep doing the default movements.
Exactly this. Twitch Streamers and youtubers sometimes are idiots and have no idea about the game's mechanics and yet act on it. All the SLAM he might have bought over hours and hours and he just has stolen millions of aUEC based on some idiots ASSumption from dog twitch chat. RU-vidr is the bad guy in this situation.
The Star Citizen player controler feels similar to Escape From Tarkov. It's a pretty natural transition, especially when you start doing FPS ground missions. Although that's where the similarities end, the two games complement each other nicely.
@@DeadlySlob Wow, now that you mention it they are fairly similar. I never really thought about why FPS combat in SC felt so good to me, but that would probably be it.
Yesterday I was down to 800 euc from a glitch. So I do a player bounty and find the guy with 100 boxes at a crash site. The boxes ended up being trash but I had a few salvage boxes to sell, so I went to Sam's junkyard or whatever and I get there try to sell my stuff and as I walk back outside I noticed a cutlass right by me, doors open, full of boxes and the pilot dead right outside his side door 😅. I couldn't res him so I transferred all his stuff to mine and went from 10keuc to 577k euc. He had drugs and stuff lmao. Most money I've gotten and made. All in one day
I just got SC yesterday. Getting used to all the modes and then trying to set up my sticks is a LOT! Crashed my aurora into a mountain I didn't see cuz it was night time, got randomly shot down outside of NB while trying to get used to my controls and exploded inside the hanger because somehow strafe up became acceleration lol! I'm looking forward to having adventures like this when I can actually fly a ship!!!!

Now that I discovered the free fly mode In arena commander I was able to actually get a feel for my controls and get my sticks calibrated lol much better than having to figure it out in the PU and take the long tram from the apartments or the hospital repeatedly LOL
@@vafuthnicht7293 Definitely, you'll also want to eventually make your way to a station with medical facilities to switch your spawn there. Really cuts down the "wake up" to "in ship" time.
You might have already figured this out, but if you're using raw inputs for your sticks, windows sometimes swaps the inputs which means the left controls right and vice versa. In that case you'll want to press ~ to open the console and then enter this command "pp_resortdevices joystick 1 2"
there was an exploit where you could buy a fraction of 1 unit of material. This would lead you to pay the fraction of the unit but still get the full unit into your ship. You could then just sell everything back at normal price
I think this bug was just introduced this patch. The guy wasn't cheating. He was just exploiting an existing bug. Maybe not ideal, but I wouldn't call it cheating. Not like he hacking or using some special tool. Just using CIG's incompetence to his advantage.

Being a pirate is very profitable right now we started robbing these exploiters a few days ago and have made millions I'm not claiming to be completely without blame i understand taking glitched cargo doesn't change the fact that it was obtained through exploits but anything to stick it to the people doing this

You morons don’t get it. This bug is nothing. You can sell cargo without it even going away. This bug is nothing and not why we’d have a full wipe. This guy could fill his cargo hold up, take it to a terminal and sell it over and over and over again and make billions from it. The loading part takes hours to do especially on a ship of that size. He only has to do it once and then it’s free cargo over and over again. THAT bug will cause a wipe. Not this one.
Antipiracy trick: stop mid QT or find an Egress point between A and B to stop so they don't know where to intercept you at. I find random power off Key mid journey shakes em best

Slam has a timer it isnt a exploit. You literally have to sit there for a long time buy/selling on a cat. Its to keep the currency balanced in the game
It’s been a long time since I was training. But when I was, and after they broke restock, I would stand in trouble for a really long time, waiting for restock to happen. while I was waiting, I will often pass switch away from star citizen, which would stop me from hearing voiceover IP, except that they didn’t have that back then. If someone came up and wanted to use the terminal, I would potentially block away from the terminal so they can use it time I go wait in my shit, but they were all done and left, I will go back and resume. I don’t know what the export you’re referring to is, and I don’t know what body looks like, but you may well I just told somebody he spent five hours standing at the terminal to make a little profit.
I have been LOVING the new pirate gameplay. I consider myself an ethical pirate, too. I don’t wanna kill ya. I just wanna steal your shit and maybe force you to pay me to have it back haha
Man I really want to like Star Citizen because it's a cool idea, but the bugs and performance is so infuriating that my girl and I just can't do it. For anyone who feels the same, we are actually in love with Elite Dangerous and the Horizon expansion. Horizons has a ton of bad reviews but those people never tried to like SC lol, it's nothing comparatively and the game is insanely enjoyable. I have a 3060ti and my girl has a 3070 and it's just the way to go. Idk how anyone runs SC but in 20 years when it's playable, ED is the way. For any poor soul who can't run ED, there is this crazy single player game called SpaceBourne 2 that is actually insane for how good it is considering it was made by ONE GUY. One guy who made single player SC/ED. Yes it's jank haha but all these games mentioned are and it's a damn good game.
The video and the adventure was brilliant. Incredible that fracture of the illegal cargo was half a million aUEC. I can just imagine how much dirty money is generated day by day into the game with that exploit. I would be quite surprised if they didn't do another full wipe with 3.18.1 or 2. Otherwise they just fked the whole economy for this wipe.

9:40 as a matter of fact you can sell the cargo of a ship that is not yours if you dock (I already entered a ship from someone else and did that, for some reason he just had waste, but it was worth the experience hahaha)
People have been exploiting by fractional buying but nothing that player was doing indicated anything other than going afk waiting for tic rate refills and desynch. Now you can kill and steal the ships of any player if you so desire, that’s the beauty of the game. But the moral posturing and self-righteous justification to “take out an exploiter” based on no evidence is somewhat sad.
Yes, the chrome and black is the base Freelancer. Flew that for a couple of years until the DUR made it in the game. DUR was my first ship. Now I also own the MIS. Chose the Taurus over the MAX. I didn't want too many Freelancers. 😅
Full disclosure. The game is in a rough spot atm, they have a patch coming this weekend that should fix the worst of the issues. Personally I would give it a couple of weeks. With that said in may there will be a freefly week. It really is like nothing else though.
what people are calling an exploit is planned a mini game that SC has already said is supposed to be in the game, but will only be in game for a short time, but they do need the data from the trade terminal mini game as a prerequisite for the hand loading of cargo, what i dont get is making millions in a day from mining or salvage isn't an exploit, but working cargo is , really weird guys
Its not intended. The exploit means you pay next to nothing for very expensive illegal commodities. It also has the effect of circumventing the limited supply and refresh rate of the terminal, it simply isnt possible in normal use to buy that amount of slam from one location. There is nothing legitimate about what he was doing on any level.
Poor guy saved up for a year to buy this game and another year working hard as an honest illegal drug runner to build up enough booger sugar to sell off and buy his new luxury cruiser.... Poor bastard...

Local VOIP is not working 80% of the time. I can guarantee they didn't hear you. Use chat instead That amount of drugs is nothing special, they could have just stayed there for a few hours, or flew from one spot to another, grinding the hell out of it
No shot dude. I had multiple 'experts' on my chat at the time, Berks etc that confirmed that 160 SCU of both Slam and E'Tam is basically impossible unless this dude actually had a macro set up and didn't leave for 12+ hours
Most places only allow 2-5 SCU of slam every 15 minutes or so. There is a well know exploit right now that players are using to fill cargo ships with drugs quickly and without much cost. Don't defend this dude.
@@DeadlySlob Drug dens can store up to 20/50 SCU (depends on location), they regen 1-2 SCU per minute, but update themselves every 5-10 minutes. If we assume that they never got a full stack from any of the places, then it'll take ~2.5 hours to get 160 SCU. Half of that if they had 50/50 of both drugs or were lucky to pick up a full stack. I move drugs in a smaller ship - Hull A, and it's very quick to fill it. Also, filled Cat once lo-o-ong ago... Then realized that CIG removed the only console with decent buy time. Was sad. :( Also also, how that exploit works? Please do tell more :3
He was most definitely using the exploit but doubt he used any macro. Not saying he wasn't but it wouldn't be needed. With the current bug that the game developer introduced, he could have done that manually. And no, it wouldn't take 12hours... Lol I used this to fill a Connie (96scu) and it only took me about 10 min. His 320 is not even 4times that, so doubt it took him an hour. Mind numbing for sure, but doable.
Drug running getting very popular to the point in being shot at if I even enter certain areas I mostly do salvaging but I’ll drop in for a drug run if I’m passing by but I didn’t know ppl were doing an exploit
well seeing him sitting there filling up his ship, its possible he was just waiting for the trade console to refresh so he can get a full ship of drugs to run.
Ok now see this is why I don't like pirates/griefers in any games. All pirates are is griefers in my opinion. Here's how I know this poster is a bad player no matter how immoral what he did to this other player was or how remorseful he sounds I know he isn't sad he did this to the other player. Remember how he said he was concerned about doing the right thing? Here's what the right thing would have been wether or not the other player was doing some random exploit or not, simply leave the other player alone to do what ever he was doing!!!!!! He's trying the entire video to make everyone watching think he's got a moral code that no other pirate has and that killing the other player was worth doing because he thaught the guy was doing some random exploit. He can say what he wants he can try as much as he wants about using this to show how to use the tractor beam to transfer things from one ship to another at the end of the day he killed another player he stole his ship and he and his friends stole the entire load. I don't for one second believe that while not recording that these guys here sold the entire load then probably also salvaged this players ship and made money from the salvage too.
I just came back to Star Citizen. Been pledged since 2015. I find myself always coming back to it for its vast potential only to be drastically let down by the bugginess and snails pace of updates. This latest update has been so buggy most of my friends can't even play and need to reset their accounts. But CIG removed the character reset so they are basically screwed. Sad times.

The moral of this story if you find some guy glitched out trying to sell drugs it's okay to murder him, steal the drugs, get your friends involved in the crime, sell the drugs for your own profit, destroy his ship and then call yourself a hero. I especially enjoyed that whole moral battle when you tried to make yourself believe that you were justified in doing this...lol You're a great guy..lol
