I'm going in for the National Guard. I'm 31 years old. I took my First ASVAB Test on 08/12/2021 and I made it with 88%. My recruiter was very surprised and told me how scarce it is, even those that graduated from high school in the last 1 year can not make it so high.
I made a 40 my first try .. just ordered my study supplies, and I have no doubt I can boost up to 80 percentile like you!!! Lol I’m try to go Air Force also
ketana chamblee well I would try the RU-vid channel I mentioned and honestly if you don’t do so good in the math it will be okay if you still do good in the other categories, the only reason it wouldn’t be okay is if you need a certain score in the math category for a job you want, if that’s the case then just study a lot and possibly get tutor
I made a 71 and I studied with Fernando Cardona for a month and this is coming from a guy who’s last score was a 24 no 🧢 .....but more power to ya😕🙌🏾💪🏾💕
Thank you for the info!! I was stressing with cramming auto & shop, mechanic knowledge and comprehension. I’m strong i’m math and reading comp, so i need to study more on word knowledge. But thank you sooooo much for the info. huge weight lifted off my shoulders 💕💕💕 Goodluck!
I didnt really study that much.....most of the it in my opinion IS easy. The hard part is the Electrical and Mechanical. If there is a focus area you want to study, study those. I only took practice tests and took brief notes about certain terms, the General Test section is the bulk of your composite score, still, so be sure you confident with general mathematics, science, and reading analysis. I got lucky, Im not saying Im a genius, but having been an AP student and kept a 4.0 for all high school or at least near that usually means youll do just fine on the GT. I got lucky to be able to switch my test dates w one a week back because of COVID cohorts at my testing center, giving mt a few days left to take pretests and get a LITTLE review on Electric and Mechanical. I got an 82. If youve been a student that generally took initiative throughout Highschool, and study even a little about Elect and Mech, you should be fine. But if you're unsure, take the pretests. Good luck everyone who sees this!
I’ve scored 35 both times already, I’m hoping this third time is my last time taking it!!! Lol I’ve been trying to join the Navy for 2 years now but can’t score above a 35. I bought the 20-21 ASVAB for Dummies book so now I’m going to go all HAM on it. Third times a charm 😁 I’m hoping to study this whole month and November and test in December. I’ll be 27 by then so I’ll hope to ship to boot camp in the beginning of next year.
@@jaquaveonandress649 So I decided to continue working until 12/28 and test in late January/early February. I’ve actually been studying a bit more on both my off days now and I also started studying on my lunch break which is only 30 minutes. I’ve been using the 2020-2021 ASVAB Test app (looks like the Army logo) and bought a notebook that I bring with me to do math problems with the Dummies book. Honestly bro I’m just going to be studying science, math, and English as the jobs that I want only require those sections. I’ll get back to you when I do test and tell you how I did.
On my ASVAB in 2002 for the Army and scored and 85 and I didn't study either, took it on the spot. My biggest regret of my life was not joining. My youngest brother is in the Army. I have many friends in the Air force. Major respect for you joining and scoring and 82. God Bless. 🙏
Congratulations! I recently took the asvab for airforce & scored a 24. I’m not good at math so that’s what I’m working on most now but any advice you can give me? I’m trying to retake in before December
The RU-vid channel I mentioned really help me, I would suggest going through the math videos trying to figure out the problem on your own first then watching how he does it and just keep doing that until you feel comfortable with it. The problems that he does are the similar type of problems on the test so it should help a lot!
@@loreleidavis5754 nooo, damn how long did you study for ? What score did you get and what do you find trouble on out of the three tries? I mean you can still try if your latest attempt was a year ago, you can go again since the third time you have to wait a year
I finally passed my ASVAB thanks to Mr Clark who helped me with his tutoring. He has good tips and questions for everyone willing to join his group.I was recommended to him by a friend even though it took me time to trust in him but at the end I was happy for the good work.I want to take this opportunity to tell you all to join him and trust in him despite the process. Thanks to him I had 89AFQT.After five attempt unsuccessful I finally made it.
I take my asvab aging in 8 days I want to go for human resource specialist as my MOS I am so scared to taken it last time I rushed because I was so nervous and failed but I am studying more and preparing to retake the asvab on what will the math portion will be like.
Karina Jacobs good luck! The math portion isn’t too bad, like I said the RU-vid channel I mentioned helped me a lot with the math and Arithmetic knowledge section. Don’t be nervous though, if you start getting nervous just tell your self in your head that you’ve got this and that you will pass!
Igwe Rosaline yes but this will be the last testing section I believe until the virus is over at least and I t just depends on your recruiter and where you are located since I am in Savannah and I already had all my paper worked filled out before the quarantine it easier for me to be ready for meps and take my asvab
How is the level of difficulty of the Arithmetic Reasoning and the Mathematics Knowledge section of the actual ASVAB compared to the Kaplan practice tests that you've been taking? I heard that the Kaplan practice tests are way harder than the ASVAB tests. So they say if you can get through Kaplan's practice tests, the ASVAB won't be too difficult for you.
Yes i feel like the Kaplan practice test were a bit harder thats why i recommend the youtube channel because the types of questions in the video were a lot of the same type of questions on the test for the mathematics and arithmetic reasoning
Finally I am amongst those who talk about the tutorials of Mr HENRY, I have gone through many tutors but had no positive results till I found a recommendation about Mr HENRY, which he has help me pass my ASVAB with competent scores , am so glad
@@cultivateme7895 I didn't, i just took it out, you can't cover it in basic, belly ring maybe cause there were some girls that kept there's in but anything on the face or ears needs to come out
I scored a 43 on my second try and I was wondering if this is a good enough score? I tried also doing my calculations but it just doesn’t make sense but I will still put them in here! G: 39 A:49 M:99? E:59 I have no idea if these are correct just went off the dummies grading book! Please let me know if I should retest or wait to see what my recruiter says about jobs!
Huh? You tried to calculate the line scores?? If you did you definitely calculated it wrong you wouldn’t have a gt score of 39 if your overall score was a 43 just go to the recruiter office and take the practice test
I read through the the comments and you said you chose a medical job. Can you share what your scores where and a review of how you think you did to get those scores for a medical job
@@tameraleshan i’m sorry for the late response i hope you can still reply, but no i didn’t study at all. it was my first time and i didn’t know what i was looking for. what can i do to get my score higher?
Use the book and try to study at least for a month before you take it again, I would suggest taking a practice test online or in the book to see what sections you need to work on
I got a 15 on the practice test. this was a week after getting my GED. Also was told the actual Asvab is slightly easier than the practice Asvab he made me take
I finally passed my ASVAB thanks to Mr Clark who helped me with his tutoring.
Where you can go depends on the job but for the job I picked it’s medical so I could go anywhere, my dream sheet was mostly states on the east coast, and then Germany, and Hawaii. But I ended up getting Louisiana
Have you considered a tutor or just asked a family member or friend for some help with the sections you're having hard time with? If the book i mentioned didn't help there's also a lot of other books that might. How long have you been studying and practicing?
I recently have been studying like 1 hour a day everyday until I know I have everything down and memorized. Do you think I should study more? I just bought another book and hopefully that helps so I can try to take the test next month and pass.
Finally I am amongst those who talk about the tutorials of Mr HENRY, I have gone through many tutors but had no positive results till I found a recommendation about Mr HENRY, which he has help me pass my ASVAB with competent scores , am so glad
PlaymakerIsAnYoungin yeah I’m at a joint base for my tech school and every day at least one person from another branch says they should’ve joined the Air Force when we’re walking around 🤣
What app did you use for practice tests? I took my practice test 2 months ago w/ the recruiter and got a 63. Legit I haven’t been consistent with studying. My test is dec 7 😭
I have been studying for a few weeks and I was wondering how well do you need to score on both the math sections to do well. Right now I on both those sections I am getting about 15 or 20 questions right and making about a 60 percent on both the sections
Thank you so much. Right now I am doing about a 65-70 for the math sections. Have to review the percent and geometry questions more and then I should be good
I’m trying to study for the Army I already know where I’m weak at and I already know my top 5 MOS’s and I really want that high score because I also want airborne in my contract
Honestly there wasn’t a specific amount, and I can’t really say how much you should study because I’m not sure what you need to work on and how much free time you have in the day but I would say if you have a lot of free time try to use at least half of that to study and if not then try for at least an hour a day
The confirmation test doesn’t give a different score it’s just to confirm the score you already got, so like if you take it and you pass you keep the score you got, if you answer most of the questions wrong then it will start making you take the whole ASVAB test over again
If I was your father I would give that recruiter hell! How dare he think you cheated! That's not cool at all! Thats an insult to your intelligence! Dont ever let anyone make you feel inadequate or less than ever again! Dont ever let anyone question your intelligence! That recruiter is lucky I'm not your dad or I will beat his a$$
Congratulations I really want to be an u.s army although I live in Jamaica I rlly have been waisting time lately I'm in 9th grade now and alot of ppl said I dropped back so im finna step up because its not late I have two years left and really would want to study alot how to pass this test😢all im doing is praying to god because I want my dreams to be successful and I just really would like to be in the army but their are three career an flight attendant, modeler and soldier but the main 2 is an army soldier plz pray for me plz😭😭😭
How often did you studied for the test? I want to study HARD 3-4 weeks and 2-3 times a day for the test and my weakness is Work Knowledge and Math Word Problems. Any tips Please? I also want to join the Air force for the Fall
I wasn’t working at the time so I studied everyday pretty often, for word knowledge the book is great because it gives you pre-fixes to study that help with figuring out what the word means, and for the math problems just check out the RU-vid channel I mentioned, watch those videos, try to figure out the problem on your own first then watch how he does it.
