This only works when the tree is the perfect diameter. For larger trees, this works better in reverse (and with a longer tree strap). Tie the rings to the ropes permanently. Use the tree straps as a noose: running it around the tree and through the end loop. Now there is a long free end on the strap that you weave through the rings. They can not twist, and setup time is cut in half.
good. simple. direct. none of the unnecessary prattle found in many videos. Just bought the Amazon Safari model. will use your mods although have learned and like ok the quick release lashing method.
Best explanation of a Hennessey Hammock set up I've seen yet. Strait and to the point. I'm getting one this month so I'm super stoked! Is there a certain style of this hammock you prefer more than the others?
I just purchased a safari deluxe and want to use this system of hanging it. I was wondering have you noticed any excessive wear on the ropes from the rings?
Absolutely. I have the same hammock and used this setup for a while. My ropes show signs of wear. Better to do it in reverse, so the rings are tied to the rope, and the strap is woven through the rings like a belt buckle.
you laid down with your head on the right side of the hammock . Which is the correct way . Seems everyone else that posted an video dont know how to lay in the hammock . Thumbs up to ya .
