I have this van at my job but as A passenger. I put a yellow & black crate in the very backseat, takes up 2 seats leaving one open. I’m a janitor but I also do windows. I take 5 employees to their jobsites, it works out. I placed a bungee cord on my drivers blindspot, here I hang my window sponges and squeegees. Also I bagged my towels and wedged it in the window. My poles slide on the far left under the seats. I wish I had this cargo setup! Looks more functional!
Like your van setup Steve. I'm a window cleaner and carpet cleaner in Australia currently working out of SUV looking to get a van shortly. Like your position of your shelving gave me some great idea's when i get my van. Cheers.
Sweet setup!!! Not gonna lie the install didn’t look like much fun😆 Great choice going with an aluminum ladder rack, I remember installing my ladder rack it sucked, came in soooo many pieces and then after the first winter it started rusting....cheap quatlity. I like the idea of carpet in the shelves to eliminate noise. I ran PVC tubes on my ceiling to put poles in to save space and I stood up my xero pure and secure it to the partition divider. I like seeing how other people set up their rides.👍
When I do it again I am just going to have a place install everything, it was not too fun. It definitely still needs some more stuff but trying to work out of it for a bit to see what I want to do. Its nice being able to park anywhere lol
Great taste in van. I got the 2016 version. Love it. Great to see the difference between American window cleaners and window cleaners over here in the UK. Great video. Keep up the good work. 👍
I switched from corded vacuum to a Milwaukee battery powered. I also have a leaf blower that runs on the same battery for gutters. The vacuum has storage for my track brush and vacuum attachments, I think it really speeds up my work. 0880-20 is the model.
Another thing working out of a van moisture can be a big problem luckily this type of van doesn’t have a headliner like many other minivans people work out of moisture can bring down a headliner can cause your tools to rust in the van just buy one bucket of water sitting in a hot van when you’re not using it humidity steam rust corrosion Even electrical Dash problems can cause a bad day because of moisture ventilation in the roof of the van to let this moisture out maybe something like a camper where it comes on automatically at a certain temperature
Looks awesome! I have a similar setup in my transit. Hopefully your able to get your car jack out thats behind the plastic door tucked behind your shelf... I figured that one out the hard way on the side of the road.
Awesome setup! I see you put a lot of great thought and sweat into your vehicle, very nice project, we are still operating out of a 2001 Chevy Astro (great workhorse & it's paid off); however, if we are going to grow we need to build and upgrade.... Does having an uninsulated ceiling create more heat in the summer? I like the pole fastener idea because it makes it tidy, our consideration would be to mount the poles higher, maybe on the ceiling for safety if someone was to rear-end the vehicle we would want the poles to go past us. We also found the pool-noodles useful for ladder padding; in our case, we run a strap front to rear on the roof, we cut the noodle in half, and then slit it down the side to make a "C", it snaps right into the luggage rack and is secured with straps. Do you find having an organized shelving system keeps your crew from losing stuff? Excellent video!
Your main tool your water bucket seems to me it should be right at your back door so you can grab it and run but do you have another shelf like you would put your Christmas tree decorations leaving them for the year till next Christmas your water bucket for cleaning windows is something you grab all day long should be very convenient not backbreaking And some shelf usually you’re going to have water and soap in it so you want it down low on the floor ready to grab soon as you open the door same thing with your belt should be right there where you can get to it that’s my opinion
There's really noway to get the stack ladder on a roof rack but it would be nice to get the a frame up there cuz I've literally used it once on a chandelier and I dont do residentials anymore.
I don't see a spot for your DI tank I keep my transit very simple they are small and you don't want to have a bunch of things in there you could find your self moving stuff around in every job just to get to what you need!! Good job amigo... mine has the back windows in back also I love that
Hey buddy, It’s Dave “The Window Ninja” from Spokane Wa. I’m thinking of getting a Transit connect , or possibly a Nissan nv200 . Is there anything to know before I do? Also how did you like the promaster? Pros? Cons? Thanks buddy👍
Hey SteveO! I just got a 2017 Transit connect and have been figuring out how to organize my window washing stuff. I love how you held your Trad poles. What are those things called that hold them?
I made an extra floor to keep my ladders under, to slide in and out and to store stuff over. Mine have tree seats and a hatch between passengers seat to cargo area if I need bring longer stuff, my biggest pole have 3 meters sections. Automatic and cupholder, what more do you need? 😊✌️
What video editing software are you using for your videos? I’m in central Texas and I’m trying extremely hard to have a successful RU-vid channel. I own and operate a window and landscaping company and I now want to expand to RU-vid and try my best with this new marketing technique. Thanks in advance man. Also trying to relate to your video I have an older model Ford transit connect and would love to have a full run through of your van when you’re done with it!
Not watched the video yet mate but I've got a Connect lwb. Took me a while to realise there's actually storage and a socket on top of the dashboard above the steering wheel. It opens upwards
@@SteveOthewindowcleaner on the raised part of your dashboard above the steering wheel. It opens up. If you feel underneath (above the instrument cluster) there's a little handle. To up it upwards.
Hey SteveO, nice setup. However, I believe your shelf is blocking the excess for your tire jack. Hope you took it out or have a backup plan in case you blow a tire
My wife just bought a 2023 transit connect cargo for her 5 month old cleaning company. What kind of money could she expect to make if she started doing windows in big city?
Why didn’t you install a tank? like we do in the UK What’s your TDS there? I use a 400 litre tank and an unger hydropower as our TDS in the Glasgow area of Scotland is around 45
For a 3 story building I would do the X2 and a booster pump to run both at 3 stories, email me steveo@windowcleaningresource.com and I would be happy to get you setup
get some Rhino clamps for the ladders for added safety and security .you may regret having too many shelves eventually. i have all of my stuff in a VW caddy on 2 floors ( across the whole back of the van is split into bottom and top floor and all the material is in quick Universal boxes which are roughly 20 cm high and length 60 x 50 cm. ( these go on the top floor ) . the thing about boxes is you can slide them in and out and around very easily ... too much racking and shelving in small vans is IMO in the end a no no. just my 2 cents .. after a lot of Trial and error .. ( it is not nice crawling into the van to find something in a fixed position ) just put in your van waht you need and store what is not needed in the house or garage / storage room . Any TRolleys or step ladders etc slide into the top floor or the bottom floor.. Before you leave for work make sure you have the essentials for that days work ... no point storing things for months on end which will not be needed ( plus you will save wear and tear on the van and FUEL as well due to optimal weight.
Temperature controlled roof vent to wicked way moisture from wet towels water bucket in your van in the sun causing the humidity in the van trust corrode equipment tools in Dash electronics
Sounds like you plan on never using your window cleaning bucket do you have a bracket for all your polls making hard to get to the main thing you’re going to be using your water bucket yes this seems to be my Gripe
