Always love watching you snowboard. I learn just from looking at you. You can post as many snowboard runs as you like. Don't even have to put music on or talk. Leave the natural sound of the slish slash and people in the background.

you make me sick, Malcolm! Sick with envy - envy that I am probably 10% of the snowboarder you are (I know, I'm inflating my own abilities there...), envy that I don't live closer to such beautiful places and runs, and envy that I cannot benefit from your in-person training! But... This year, after a 15 year break from boarding - kids came along - and after watching what seems like hundreds of your very, very excellent instructional videos, I took my 55 year old ass and two of those kids - my daughters - to the mountains. I thought these old bones would suffer, but using your advice to hone my technique, not only did I get through the week unscathed, but also managed to get my two girls addicted to snowboarding. I was so proud of my 9 year old especially, she really had to struggle to keep up with her 15 year old sister at first, but she always made sure we were last off the mountain each day, and by the end of the week she was outperforming her sis, and tackling the reds. I really look forward to taking them again, and they can't wait to go. You did that. If not all, then the largest proportion, as I was able be a conduit for your advice, and get them into good habits and carving, well, if not from day one, then day three at least. You're a good man, a great 'tuber, and a superb teacher. Thank you, from me and my two new snowboarders :)

I appologize, but since the info is limited about Stranda and i am kind of intriguite by the brand and especially Biru, i would like to ask some more questions about the board. 1.How heavy it is? 2.These "pumps" on the edge which which we have with Mervin brands and Jones, are they effective with Stranda on icy conditions? 3.How do you find the base? For me Jones and Capita provide best bases are Stranda base is good for you. Of course waxing the board is always critical. Great videos. Trying to learn from you.

Malcolm - looking for a wide board then buy a Donek. My boards are 157cms in length. 318mm at the waist and 357 at the tip and tail (11m sidecut radius). For an 8.7m side cut you're looking at 308mm waist. You will never look back.

I think of it like this, you need the skill and ability to execute that skill in a controlled manner in order to navigate variable terrain. Just like in any sport, you break down fundamentals to apply them in a game (which would be riding the mountain) which isn't perfect slope etc.

Hey, Malcolm! Your videos have helped me progress so much! I’m having one problem though, my heel side turns are way shorter than my toe side turns. I feel a bit unstable when I’m taking big turns on my heel edge (from toe to heel with early edge change, so I’m heel side before I face the fall line). I think I’m most uncomfortable when my board is in the fall line during the turn so I always rush through until my heel edge is traversing across the slope, then I feel stable again. How do I fix this so I can take big turns on mellow slopes? And thanks for all the videos you’ve brought us, you explain in a way that is very easy to understand and your videos have really got me hooked on snowboarding!

I'm on the 156, or 157? Not sure, the biggest one anyway. It's about as stiff as I like to go, I still like to be able to bend the board a bit and for some freestyle. The stiffness definitely makes it carve well and hold an edge, I really like it, it kills it in powder as well. I've ridden it alot this season but I do appreciate also having a true twin park board (nidecker sensor plus) for when I want to jib about more.

@@bjrnchrstn wrong. Sugar and carbs you should be avoiding. Since I eat more red meat, fish, good fats I feel so good like never before. My joints, my brain, the whole body feel like they are renewed. I know the time we are living in tells us the total opposite: more carbs, less meat, less good fats. Good fats are: from animals which are grass fed, olive oil, coconut and avocado oil. And grass fed butter.

+15 -12 here, I ride that 95% of the time, sometimes I like to go +36 +27 for a bit of carving fun though 😂

Do you use standard bindings or the nidecker step ins?
@malcolmmoore
@malcolmmoore 5 месяцев назад
These are the supermatics, the nidecker step in bindings, I've been using these most of the time this season. I do also have some normal 2 strap bindings but I've mostly been on the step ins!

@@malcolmmoore thanks for the reply! the fact that you are still using them all this time later suggests there is no performance trade off from regular bindings?
