Hopefully this will help people RNG for Shaymin like I've been able to do. Also don't be afraid to change the delay by 100 or more from Papa Jefé's delay if you're consistently getting 100 or more over your frame, I ended my shiny hunt with a 2060 delay rather than 1951, this RNG manipulation is all about trial and error and you'll probably fail many times before landing on your shiny frame." Something that could seriously improve the timing and margin of error is having an animation sliding bar for the timing on the 6 second beeps to have say a red line slide and a static target green line to press it once it reaches that point. Because going by sound I find I press it right before or after the 6th beep and this causes about a 30 frame variance that I can’t adjust for I just have to be lucky. This is after I have adjusted making the tunnel behind shaymin so I don’t have to turn around I can just spam A. Really this is more so for the first two 6 second beep periods

This is so amazing to do on retail man. Even tho I got all the Shaymin and shiny Shaymin I need from Gen 4 RNG, I might try this one day, just to see what was harder. This, or starter RNG in BW2 (wich to this day is the hardest RNG I've done so far). Ugh, I already hate myself for the pain I'm going to experience :D

Just wanted to share my thanks for making this guide as well! I'm currently 32 attempts in for Shamyin (after successfully getting Dialga, Cresselia, Darkrai and Arceus). It's unfortunate that this hunt is so random but I've had a few attempts at +-5 advances so I know it's possible. Thanks for making these guides and I hope I'll get my mint hedghog soon!

Thank you so much for putting out this guide man! Just got my Shiny Shaymin after 29 tries. This is definitely more fun than soft resetting, since you can actually analyse how off you are after each attempt and then play around accordingly, but pretty frustrating as well with the crazy rng on Shaymin's island, and the assertion errors(I used a droid cam setup through my phone). A huge thank you to you, since this was my first RNG attempt of any sort in any Pokemon game and I got it in a relatively short time! Final settings I used were: A-Press Delay: 1929 Flowtimer: 3000/8600/18975

Tried this for about 3ish hours Today. Got very close several times, like 2-8 frames. I noticed that the way I press the buttons has a real impact on the frames as well. Hopefully I can get everything down correctly tomorrow and walk away with a blue, modest hedgehog! Thank you for this tutorial, much more fun than resetting for like 10 hours, hahaha

Wow! Thanks Papa for this amazing video. I honestly didnt understood much how to get the delay properly so I started playing with numbers there (your 1951 delay) was nowhere close to my frames, but after literally 5 tries I kinda narrow the number (catching the shaymin everytime and do a lot of math to get the number) and i ended up with a delay of 1623 which gave me shaymin at 6th try. I honestly thought that i missed the frame because I kinda pressed the a button a bit late (to get out of the underground) but oh boi when i saw the sparkling shaymin.. couldn't believe it. I was planning trying for a little longer and worse case scenario do the usual hunt for it, but no needed in the end. Your rng guides have been amazing. Working through the legends (got Dialga, Arceus, Registeel, Regice, Azelf, Uxie, Cresselia, Darkrai and Giratina already). Just getting close to finish with all outside of Ramanas Park to keep grinding for mysterious shards to get the slates (boring stuff) to continue the hunt there! Thanks again :)

Hello, with the last A push do you press it as soon as shaymins dialogue pops up like it seems in the video or do I press A on the 6th boop?

I have been on this guy for a while, currently Flowtimer is set at 3000/8500/19202 and with a Delay of 1951, and this is consistently getting me 20-40 early about every time, one time I got 5-6 off!! So close! But I don’t understand how it works if I changed the delay like higher or lower or how to change the flow timer, what do you think would be best to get that 20-40 barely closer?? How do I do that, so I can understand the Flowtimer

Thank you Papa Jefe for this wonderful guide!! I was able to get the shiny shaymin after closely to 100 tries and it was definitely one of the toughest of them all.. Changing the delay from 1951 to 1952 or 1962, counting the numbers from heart to actually speaking out loud XD After thouroughly investigating your guide video with Shaymin and checked one by one on how your voice and the FlowTimer matched My final FlowTimer Offset was 3150/8600/19000 while having 1951 delay I was able to count the beeps normally instead of having to count slow or fast in several intervals : ) Great guide thank you!!!!

Got mine shiny shaymin today thanks for your tutorial it worked. Took maybe 20+ tries, finally got shiny but my dumbass clicked runaway had to retry 3 times again to get it. But i caught it 2nd time. Thank you very much for the tutoral save a lot of time for shiny. I was using this rng after you showed how to use on legendary.

Thank you for this guide. After getting shiny Darkrai and Arceus within a few hours, I was feeling kinda confident when I tried to do this one. Got to say it's probably the wildest, most frustrating, and most difficult one so far. Got my shiny shaymin after around 6 days with more or less 18 timer accurate tries, and a lot of botched attempts. With the 3000/8500/19000 Flow Timer, I got my delay tweaked to 1869 for my final try with wildly varying offsets per adjustment. Plus noticing how shaymin may or may not blink during the cutscene, I think I got lucky on my final try. Getting the delay was kind of frustrating considering the varying input delay with my 8bitdo controller, my own mental timing, and using a Genki Shadowcast as my "capture card", on my gen 1 switch.

About the method I have 2 questions, because I can not get it: I have a capture card that has 200ms delay between original switch image and transmitted image. Do I have to consider this with the inputs and if where do I have to change something? Is it possible, if I messed up the timing on a Shaymin, that I start the next one from the PokeFinder or do I have to reset the game?

I was super excited to try this method out! However when I go to set up my preview window for my capture card (an avermedia one) it only reads it under the camera option. And trying with the camera setting, its constantly registering blinks when my character hasn’t done any. :(

what program are you using to preview your game? i have a hd 60 s and the el gato game capture program isnt playing nice with Player Blink. My progress is stuck at 0/0 and I have to deselect "monitor window" to get my game to show up in the program and whenever it is selected, nothing works

I'm sorry if this is already clear, but I've watched a bunch of these videos and I'm still not sure. Does clicking a button cause advances? I'm not manipulating, just curious about how the system works. I've got a controller that auto-presses A for soft resets and I'm wondering if that puts me on the same advance everytime or if it depends on when I stop. Not a super important question, I just like learning more about the system.

Quick question, if i can only catch one shaymin, how do i keep track of how far im missing the catch window frame? Do i need a modded switch to reload a save before i catch Shaymin, or am i missing something.

I sometimes get this error when hitting "Preveiw". "Failed to pull input from target window, make sure nothing else is accessing the window (stop preview before monitoring blinks)."

My next attempt was 4987 but my target is 5456 so I’m early again even tho I was close to shaymin and used the timer. I guess that means I have to wait a bit longer before starting the timer so instead of 1951 if you missed by 30 for 10 does that mean it scales by 3? The difference means perhaps I should subtract 156’sh and do 1795 on my delay. I’m going to be so excited just to get within 50 haha

On my first attempt I hit 46880 when my target was 45529. Was that because I was a step away from shaymin ? I know that you said the noise is crazy high in the overworld? Also I hit page up but the flow timer didn’t automatically start ? So I’m sure that made it a bit worse I just tapped to your rhythm

This is very cool! I'm going to keep trying this; I misinput the S[0-1] code a couple times and so I was very confused on how I was off by 100000 advances, but I now I'm off by just around 100.

So question, what is occuring if the shaymin I capture does not come up on the filter? I find Shaymins that match the IVs, however the natures arent correct. Does that mean I am messing up the initial process with the seed?

Wow this is all so crazy impressive that you took the time to do all the math and took into factor every single polygon on Shaymin's a**hole! However can break this down for people who don't have all this equipment or is it just impossible?

Hello guys, sorry to bother you but I'm a little bit desesperate. I tried multiple times to link my webcam via OBS to the program unsuccessfully and I don't quite understand what's the matter. I get an "Frame captured is empty, make sure your camera is set up properly" message when trying to link the program to the Windowed Projector and nothing happens. But it's working well on OBS. I've also tried to cycle through the camera numbers but none seems to work, except for one, 1, which makes the app crash

Does the loading screen between the underground and Shaymin add any advances? My switch seems to arbitrarily decide how long it'll take to load so flow timer is constantly going off at the wrong time, might just have to mash through it the second I spawn up top

finally got it after like a week of on and off attempts, and messing with my delays. I found that my delay was wildly off from the "1951" that you suggested using. I found that a delay of "1399" was allowing for me to hit 1-10 advances off on a good attempt. The only thing I can assume causing this difference being that I chose the male gendered playable character versus the female gendered character you used in the video. Hitting the timing was also a little daunting at times, mostly on the exit from underground part of the manipulation. Whenever I wasn't frame perfect(or nearly perfect) on the menu open to exit the underground I had greater variance in the advances I was hitting, usually an extra 10 advancements off of the average. But I'm not super versed in BDSP RNG manipulation so as far as I know this is just my bias. For real thank you for the guide, as well as the resources to be successful with it. Keep up the banger RNG manip content my guy!!

I noticed your character isn’t moving but my character keeps moving over and over even when standing still ? I was able to get the blue box around an eye but since he moves so much it doesn’t work if I put it around both eyes will it work that way ? Is the fact that my character keeps moving part of how this is patched ? Or why the heck is he moving so much turning his head and stretching his arms ?

I completely forgot that I have gotten a capture card since I last watched this, I can finally do BDSP manips, hell yeah

Is there another way I can do this since I don’t have a computer or capture card?

what if the pageup signal never gets send? i did everything like in the video but when i looked at the window from the run.bat at the time i typed in it just went past it without the timer or rhythm ever starting eventhough i set start in the settings as pageup
