Yes!!! I had the same routine while in hygiene school, I also recorded my lectures too! I hated study groups but didn't mind getting together just to review. I didn't do well studying at home so I would go to the library or coffee shop. But yeah I definitely did some all nighters. Quizlet was very helpful!!!!
I am currently doing dental assisting and the best tip was having a planner, I also write down every thing and color code it, you need it when u have 8 to 10 classes a semester

I'm starting dental hygiene school in one month and you have already helped me so much!! I'm so pumped! I agree with everything you say and your advice is so appreciated and needed! I would absolutely love if you made a video on how you organized yourself for school each day. It may sound non essential, but I'm just not sure if I want a trapper keeper, three ring binders, folders, notebooks, etc. Maybe even what you did for lunches? My ass can't afford an expensive meal plan. I'm going to pack every day. Any tips you have are great :)
Girl I can relate to all u said, I definately think its a Caribbean thing. We study different and in our schools we r required to do a whole lot more when it comes to tests. Girl I never knew exams had so much multiple choice untill I came to america because back in Jamaica when doing exams we would write until our brain literally forgot how to spell simple words like my and do 😂😂😂😂. I think what made school a little challenging here was the bulk of the work, it is a lot of work but I was always more at ease when it came to tests I didnt stress over them as much as I did back in Jamaica.
Lol. This is america. Were spoon feed everything HA. Shoot my little brother doesn't bring books home from school but he tells me all the food he eats lol.

I am really scared because college has already been hard, then tonight I looked at the prerequisites and the courses you have to take for the program..its so much science etc. Courses I really struggle with, but after watching a few of your videos I at least want to try!

breanna hayden yeah ofc I’ll try to help as much as I can! Keep in mind every school is different, but my school has requirements before applying to the hygiene program. For us, we had to complete prerequisites (like biology, nutrition, English, and those kinda classes) before we could apply. So for myself, I finished these prereqs in two years of college and I’m now starting the program with will take another two years to complete. BUT, for other colleges (like community), prerequisite requirements are shorter and don’t take two years to complete (maybe just one) and then the program (which is usually two yrs). So you can pick the school you align with best! Keep in mind I go to a university so it will take me a total of four years to complete, but there are many schools out there that only require a few prereqs and then the program so it’s shorter! ✨

Question: is the DH Program the same as going to a community college for A.A.S (Associates) in DENTAL HYGIENE? Or after the associates then the program? Are they the same?
In allied health programs, you have prerequisites you must first take before entering the program. You have anatomy and physiology (2) of them, then, anatomy and physiology lab 1 & 2, then college algebra, introductory to psychology, English class, medical terminology, and probably an introduction to statistics. Upon completion of this, (make sure your grades are high), then you apply to the program. Then, your in the actual program if you get accepted! I'm not in health programs, just doing research, lol.

@@maidelisr I feel like that too it’s a lot of work and a lot of studying but the best advice I was given was read chapters of textbook aim for one chapter a day and highlight the important information good luck for your test ! X
The program I’m going to take in Canada is a Monday to Friday 30 hours of class per week, with 3-4 hours of studying in the evening and studying and projects on the weekend

I just found your channel cause I’m trying to finish up my prerequisites to apply for the dental hygiene program and I love your personality! But did you ever doubt yourself? I’ve never been a super smart person in high school, I took all basic classes, I always got C’s and above, nothing lower than that but I’ve just been worried that I’m not smart enough or I won’t be able to do it, especially cause science is so difficult for me. breanna hayden it really just depends on how long it takes you to finish your prerequisites. I really struggle with science and math so I’ve had to take those classes pretty much one at a time and I’m part time so it’s taken me a while to finish those courses and I still have a couple more. I would definitely suggest going to see your student advisor and they should be able to tell you exactly which classes you need to apply for the program so you don’t end up taking extra classes you don’t need (:
@@otherversely4085 hey!! I ended up going to school to become a dental assistant first but once I graduated, I realized I do not want to work in the dental field. That schooling was super hard for me but I graduated at the top of my class. I just couldn’t imagine going through with dental hygiene, so unfortunately for me it didn’t work out! lol
@@josieolivero Oh man. I considered becoming the dental assistant first and then going into hygiene. But i was just thinking about going straight for the prerequisites and then dental hygienist instead of going for the dental assistant. Reason why, the last time i rushed straight into a program, i dropped out the first week because i realized i did not want it. Atleast with the dental hygiene, i still finished prerequisites classes and in case i change my mind later on, i won’t have to worry about these certain classes.

Born Sinner yes it is, you need to do university level statistics. I know exactly how you feel, I hate math and just had to do a bunch of high school math courses again in order to get higher grades and build the foundation for the harder math. Stop telling yourself that you’re bad at math and start believing in yourself! The more you work at it and get more comfortable with math, the easier it will become
