indeed. I agree 100% and if you're worried about being too old no worries! you are never too late to go to college no matter the age. don't worry about the debt it's going to be paid.
It’s interesting how different everyone’s experiences are. I just started the dental hygiene program a few months ago and am about halfway through my semester. So far I’m still able to work and maintain great grades. It’s not possible for me to not be able to work since I live on my own. So anyone reading this. You can do it. Even if you do have to work you can do it. If you want it you will make yourself.
WOW! Thank you so much for this comment! I struggle with multiple sclerosis and work part time and until recently did I begin having a break down in this semester. I needed to read this! So THANK YOU!
I needed to hear that. I start this summer and I work part time and I am a mom so I am worried how I will do this since I keep hearing people saying that they don’t have a life.
I’m halfway through my first semester and I’m here to say that you have to incorporate ALL OF THESE to be successful! Don’t forget to breathe!!!! SLEEP 7 hours a night AT LEAST!!!!! If you don’t sleep, the information won’t stick! Be confident in yourself, fake it till you make it baby!
When you said “I don’t like planners” I FELT THATTT. I’m nervous about starting because my program is mostly online and I was so looking forward to face to face classes.
Thank you soooooo much for your words of wisdom and truth! I’m struggling right now, but you have encouraged me to PUSH!!!!!! When I complete this program, I am going to invite you to my freakin’ graduation!!!!👩🏽🎓🦷❤ Onward and Upward!
I’m starting Dental hygiene school in august and I’m so glad I came across your video and channel so I can apply the amazing advice and tips you gave, to my own life! Gracias hermosa❤️
I am so happy I found your video! You are seriously speaking facts. Thank you for being so raw and honest about what is needed in order to succeed in the program. I am currently a first year and I feel like it's only been a month and I'm already so overwhelmed. Your video was encouraging though and I will definitely try some of the tips you suggested :)
I love how you say don’t work like many RU-vidrs but don’t say how survive without working which means getting loans, saving, and scholarships. So when ppl said that I am like I’m confused what am I supposed to do? How am I paying rent, my car and insurance? I have been saving, i have fafsa and I will get additional aids through fafsa so I can get by. No kids and little family support. IT IS TIME CONSUMING and very little time to learn so I think that’s the most challenging part. Great video though😊 you’re funny. Im praying and hoping I succeed.
Showers were timed, food cannot take more than 20 minutes to prepare, I wore the same color of clothes (socks, scrubs, shoes), start studying the materials before the quarters start, green smoothies, protein shakes in the locker, turn all your social media notigfications, record the lectures and play them while you cooking, at the car, showering, stretch as soon as you wake up. Amem girl you are so right!
Im about to start week 3 of dental hygiene school. I had my first evaluation I was going for the 100% but I got a 98. I got ahead of myself and messed up. I would love to do open lab every chance I could but our school only encourages it if you feel you really need it. There’s limited spots and the freshman and sophomores are able to sign up. Please give me your best study tips ! I feel like I’m a visual learner so I am going to take the learning style quiz ! Thank you for this video. I really enjoy it. You had me laughing a few times 🤍✌🏻🦷
my teenage daughters (17 and 16), have income and I am stocking my 8 yr old son with clothes in advance! I’m the only parent they have. I signed up for section 8 so my rent will be minimal. I also am receiving social security so I think I set myself up well for Dental School! Good luck Single Parents!!
I'm glad I found your video. I enjoy the courage to have the suggestions and the supportive in giving sincere confidence that we need. Yes, My class is 10 weeks. internship and sell yourself. Thank you.
It is silly to say this but thank you for congratulating me. I do not have a lot of people to celebrate my achievement. But you made me feel a little more proud of myself.
Sandy Turner Hi girly believe it or not you inspired me to make this video thank you ,you will do great ! If you have any video ideas you would like me to do.Let me know.
Karla Toledo Awwww really ?!! Thank you ! I truly appreciate the tips and advices so thank you thank you thank you ! When did your graduation from DH program?
Dianne baby girl don’t be staying up too late ❤️ sometimes getting early sleep is better!Ill be praying for your Journey in dh school.Im sure you will do great!!Enjoy the process it’s stressful but If I did it So can you!!YOU GOT THIS!!!🦷❤️🤛🏻
I’ll be living with family while in school and my spouse travels for work...I keep telling everyone I’ll be MIA and that I’ll make it up to them once I’m a RDH 😁😁
Hello, I recently changed my major to dental hygiene. I will start my prerequisites soon! I am stressed, but excited because I know once I start, it will be stressful. I watched some of your previous videos, and you mentioned that you're not good at science nor math. It was so refreshing to hear that because I, too, am not good at math and science. I am thinking of going to a dental assistant trade school to start some experience in the field and apply for a dental assistant job after graduating the program. You said to not work during dental hygiene school. Because of that, do you recommend working as a part time dental assistant while attending dental hygiene school?
I researched my professor or rate my professor and she had great reviews also did flash cards watched RU-vid videos a lot reading the PowerPoint! Tell yourself that you’ll love it and you will!!
Stephanie Rodriguez yes of course!,Patients dont always like a talkative hygiene just like I don’t like a talkative nail technician. If it’s a language barrier you can still do it!,you just have to work harder!
2nd week of dental hygiene school..today was the first day I cried lol. Its so challenging and overwhelming. Ur video was super encouraging , funny and mad helpful! ...and by the way I'm glad I'm not the only one who's cried 🤭
@@karlatoledo2069 Thank you so much for the kind words! Your video literally motivated me. Took my first quiz shortly after watching it and got an A. Please keep making these bomb videos, they are truly helpful!
Thanks for sharing awesome info! I’ve watching your videos! I got an C on my English composition and everything else is A so far. I need to tKe two more classes to be done for pre requisite. Do you think i should retake English class to upgrade my GPA?
Keysel Echezarreta sorry to hear that bbg,Are you able to get a loan for rent and food? But even if you are not able to,It just means you have to work harder!!In life sometimes we have to endure hardships but in the end, once you obtain your degree,The victory will taste sweeter!
I’m on my second semester of dental hygiene school right now (its march 2021 as I type this ) and gonna start my summer semester soon! Can you make a video comparing how dental hygiene school was and how working as an actual RDH is now? Is it less stressful ? Love your vids 💕
hiii i’m a junior in highschool and i’m interested in becoming one and your videos is helpful thank uu!!💗and what happens if you don’t get accepted into the dental program? do you take pre reqs again?
@@karlatoledo2069 and how about after you get into the program and i think you take an exam to actually become one? what happens if you dont pass that one too?
@@amylee8411 you can retake it two more times and after that you may have to retake a class, but most of the time people passed ,in my class only 4 didn’t pass, the clinical part but they passed it on the second try 😍
A CA 4-5 classes a semester, yes they are hard but you can do it,Its not the content that it’s hard it’s the amount of hw,projects, test that they give.I think chemistry and math is harder lol
Karla Toledo I am not a smart person, I was studying to be a medical assistant but I don’t have passion for that career. I’m thinking about becoming a dental hygienist, I just hope it isn’t too hard 😞. But yet again, you are only focusing on one thing (teeth)
A CA I wasn’t a smart person either but a hard worker and diligent. You can do it and Financially it’s sooo much better!Watch a lot of videos on in the life of a dental hygienist to see if you like.
Kayla Ramirez absolutely!! It’s all about determination and applying yourself to school.I was horrible at math and chemistry but I did it!You just gotta work harder.ps I was also average grade 😘
Ok I’m a senior graduating high school (class of 2020) and I’m interested in being a dental hygienist, I know that I have to take my pre-req classes before I even try to apply but I’m nervous because my grades are like Bs and Cs
Kayla Ramirez high school doesn’t really count,Focus on your college grades try your best to get good grades and shadow a dental office.you’ll be great just work hard. Its a couple of years of sacrifice.Stay focus and prioritize.❤️🙏
I'm assuming a lot of guys aren't dental hygienist since this woman keeps saying baby girl lmfao. its hard to watch this without my wife. Please be aware that they're are guys that would like to pursue becoming an RDH. =)
You can absolutely do it! My classmate had 5 kids and she is now a dental hygienist! I also think moms are super people lol I don’t know how you guys do so much! Being an assistant will make it much easier for you! Don’t let your mind stop you from accomplishing your goals! Just go for it !😉
