Fr same but eventually the whole idea of just understanding a topic in full detail is very satisfying which therefore allows you to learn more and understand new concepts

Is it possible for you to make a video about how to revise GCSE history effectively, as I havent really found any well explained guides and I like the short and effective style of your videos.

Like how do I actually revise, I just cannot do it. I have my last set of mocks next week and have done no revision. Last time I tried to do some I failed miserably.

Same over here. What I'm doing is going through those shortened but detailed videos ,on for example science, and taking thorough notes, do exam questions on the unit you have revised and you will get used to it, as well as past paper walkthroughs. May i suggest after these mocks creating a revision timetable where 2-3 hours a day of spread out revision of different subjects can help you regain the information and achieve higher grades. For these mocks, don't stress, just try your best from the simple notes and that can push you above a grade 5 to pass and higher in GCSES.

btw i just wanted to ask do you think using flashcards on a language gsce is the best way to hypothetically memorize all the vocabulary you need for exams
@aminuh
@aminuh 7 месяцев назад
hey, i got an 8 in French this year so I think I did decently good and know where I went wrong so here’s my two cents :): - flashcards are the best but depends how you use them. - if your doing GCSEs rn I would highly recommend as a minimum you download the specification’s mandatory and outlined vocabulary you need to know. Even things you might not have been explicitally taught in class is on there that your expected to know and at least you’ll know and familiarise yourself with the exam board’s style. This is especially most helpful for reading in which you’ll be able to reduce your problems solving and instead reserve that energy for the harder stuff as you already know what certain keywords are, reducing chance of error and misunderstanding. - in terms of topic vocabulary, I’d be careful how much you learn. You want to learn words that are both general and can be applied anywhere if you change certain things but also the “special” ones. For instance I still remember in the social media section of French AQA GCSE, the phrase “grâce à” was very popular (thanks to). The main point is don’t learn tooooo many words that you forget all of them. Having a wider breadth is good for reading but for writing it might just confuse you. I’d say have a certain bank of words for each topic that you know 100% you’ll be able to say and get marks on confidently. Eventually, start revising pre-made flashacrds specifc to your exam board. It’ll save you time and there’s so many on Quizlet!! You can also copy and edit these do you wish to add your own. This allows you start extending your breadth in vocab. But you need a baseline first before you start overwhelming yourself. I mentioned listening and reading before, and listening especially is sooo hard .. your exams are soon anyways and suggest you start doing practice. However when you’re marking or reviewing these, start making flashcards on really really tricky words you notice or have never seen. The more practice you do, the more you realise those words you’ll have seen before, even if you haven’t been taught it! This is because the exam board may like repeating stuff. And by being able to recognise these yourself, you’ll be ahead of the game from everyone else as you already have an idea of the tricky words yet everyone else hasn’t bothered to be exposed to them before and are thinking for longer and inaccurately in the exam. A slightly rushed advice post but I hope this helps :)

ur not meant to do all ur subjects per day. If ur starting to revise now I suggest do like 2 - 3 hours a day. Do maybe 1 - 3 subjects per day I prefer doing like 2 subjects a day and my entire revision is like 2-3 hours per day. Pretty chill.

does revising the markscheme for science give u the top grades
@gymgal_
@gymgal_ 7 месяцев назад
it can do to be honest but being dependant on the mark scheme won't secure a top grade, but it's about memorising the key facts of the answer to the question and implying it yourself to those exam questions again to make sure that you know how to answer it. Many people have used this way and if it benefits you then yes it can get you top grades, but don't be always reliant on just a mark scheme.

@annoymuss
@annoymuss 8 месяцев назад
start now! By doing past papers it would define your strengths and weaknesses in a topic eg you struggle in paper 1 biology write the topics you got wrong and revise until you have a full understanding. Also by doing past papers you would know the exam structure very well. hope this helps👍
