Samuel, you are quite inspiring. I am 53 years old. I struggled earning my undergraduate degree. Fast-forward into my early 40’s and I went back to get a Master’s Degree. My maturity helped me quite a bit, and I feel that I learned a lot more than I did when 20. However, if I had understood the concepts (not the tools, because they didn’t exist back then!) earning my degrees would have been far different. Instead of a drudgery, it would have be a joy. I wish I had known then, what you have taught me watching your videos. Thank you! Well done.

That's why you have such high ability to learn and produce: because you are not strongly bounded to your learning process and can abandon it to something else new and different. Sometimes we create some process and stick to it no matter what, even when when it is not helping us anymore. Thank you. You are giving me a lot to think about.

It's interesting to hear how you describe law because it's very similar to physics questions where you have to apply the concepts you've learnt to new and unfamiliar situations. It seems like it's the humanities counterpart of physics. I think because you were studying medicine, these types of questions didn't come up too often cause you mostly (not all the time) needed to memorise information for exams. I'm studying physics in uni and it's really fun if you enjoy applying what you've learnt to new situations! You also don't have to memorise too much because once you really understand a concept, it will stick with you. One thing that helps me remember stuff in maths and physics is to always consider how a new concept or equation relates to what you already know. To me, a benefit of studying physics is that I don't have to remember too much content :) Great video as always btw!

“When the student is ready the teacher appears.” I’ve gone back to school in my 50’s after a career in design and honestly the program I’m in is so dense with information, that I’ve been struggling. Frankly, it feels like trying to drink from a firehose. Copying text, trying to capture every word in lectures, flash cards, spreadsheets just wasn’t cutting it. I was spending hours researching how to study, the apps I need, the programs…but I was not getting anywhere and falling behind. We have an assignment to turn in our notes from the semester, something we will use later in our practice and I was feeling stressed out- I hadn’t figured out how to format information yet. I decided to drop from full time to part time because honestly, while I was doing well, it felt like I wasn’t retaining any information and I needed to go back and review already. Having this space to process the information was a relief and I got in my head to do my notes visually and use my creative brain to learn in the process. It may take more time but I feel I’d actually learn it, which is the point, right? I got really excited about this idea. And then I found you. I got so emotional watching your videos. It was the validation I needed. I’m on the right track and your examples are helping me to explore my ideas more fully. I can’t thank you enough!

Finally someone said it! Finally a STEM student agreed that business is not as easy as many people think. Studying business is totally different and difficult people think business is easy I mean? In science, you just have to memorize stuff but in business you've to implement things in real life problems which is interesting but hard at the same time! Like he said, you have given a problem most probably a business case study with real life problems face by industry, govt or an individual company and you have to solve it with what you've learned in lecture and tbh it's hard sometimes courses like organizational behavior, business/corporate law, principles of management takes so much time on case study to be solved.

15:45 is exactly what lawyers do. This 4-part process is found in every case. It may apply to 1) legal rules (form), or 2) any area of substantive law (as varied as life itself when two or more human beings are involved). Law school class study relies heavily on outlines, and Notion seems to allow you to use toggle to hide/expose subparts of the outline. This allows you to easily test yourself as you review it. I -> A -> 1 -> a -> i each being a subpart of the previous one. Good law is incredibly logical to minute detail. Your process involves review of the material several times., which is critical (unless you have a photographic memory). Well done Samuel!

Thank you so much for uploading this video. I started studying law part time last year (in my 30s), whilst working full time and could not find a way to keep track of my notes and learnings. A lot of “study-tubers” have these fancy science and maths notes which just wouldn’t work for law. So thank you for your candid insights and perfect explanation of IRAC ;)

I have a strong gut feeling you’re going to invent something related to The ‘Process’ of learning efficiently & effectively because what you just lectured was pure gold. Thank you!

Sorry. I don’t get it. Now you are basically doing anki cards… the method you said in your previous videos that was pointless because it did not make sense of the content which ended in studying not learning… I am lost

This video is very meaningful because it may help other students who don’t study science. Samuel allows diverse students study to their extent and learn from that process. Ur awesome dude 😎

I study math, and the way you talk about how you study law really sounds like how I study maths. In all my classes I work the most on the worksheets we get weekly. Only when I try to solve a problem that I haven't seen before and reference the problems we saw in class is where the real studying is happening. Just though it was interesting that the degrees sound so different but the work processes are basically the same.
