Almost no protection for the volunteers, while I applaud their work but they really need to understand how to deal with bed bugs and I hope they don’t accidentally bring the bugs or eggs home or accidentally spread the infestation to the neighbouring units. Just a few cans of insecticide as seen in the video does nothing, needs professional pest control.
Such a heartbreaking video……he looked so beaten down and sad. You are angels for helping others in this situation! I hope he was able to get rid of them permanently.
I hope they can convince the building community to do a thorough bedbug assessment because they travel and migrate. If you don't get rid of it entirely, it will only come back or affect someone else in the building. They should also fumigate the items that the old man wants to keep to prevent a relapse.
Bless these volunteers, it’s really hard to deal with the stubbornness from hoarders or usually generations from the baby boomers and above, they’ve been through a lot of hardship and are unable to deal with the mental capacity of getting rid of their personal items whether useful or not and it can be really really exhausting trying to convince them to dump them, let alone clearing this huge mess. Thank you for helping
These volunteers are really noble, I salute them. I pray they will not be infested with bed bug or catch any problem due to poor hygiene environment. Both elderly are really struggling to help themselves with no younger people to support them.
i cried. he sounded like my step father. whos very kind and loving everyday of my life i ve been thinking about my step father and mother they are only two in malaysia,
Thank you YaoXuan and all volunteers. You are blessed to bless others. Good job. Thank you for making this a better place for ourselves and others. May the world follow your lead. ❤❤
Oh my gosh.....the hairs on my back all stood up and my whole body was literally shaking from the "goosebumps" feeling when I saw the black heap of bugs. Even typing this now I'm still trembling. So afraid of toppling over the cup of coffee in front of me.....
It is very real when a visibly shaken old neighbour actually expressed her worst fears of the bugs crawling into her well kept house after observing record numbers of Cecas moving into the block. Of course this does not concern the PAP ministers, many who live in spacious surroundings and hardly even see their neighbours.
WENDY'S REACTION TO THE TOOTHBRUSH HOARDING I TOTALLY GET IT, AS A HEALTHCARE ASSISTANT THATS MY EXPRESSION ON DAILY BASIS 😂😂😂 but thank you guys for helping them out and renew the living environment.
Even is a temp but at least you all help them.THANK ALOT FOR ALL THE HELP YOU ALL GIVE TO.THEM👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏THANK FOR ALL THE HELP,TIME,CARE N THE HARDWORK👏👏👏👏😘😘😘😘😘
I am so beyond moved by the work you guys do. I just found this channel but you have a new subscriber! You’re fu k ing amazing and thank you so much for everything you do ❤
Oh God. When I dealth with my puppy’s mange, I got scabies and passed it to my mom, too. It was a tough one month of washing clothes in hot water and a whole lot more. Plus the hives in our bodies, too. For the volunteers, you got to understand hoarding is a way of life for some elderly. It is equally difficult to eliminating bed bugs.
Not only can his apartment have bug, but the entire building. We have a. 12 story high rise in my city that I hear has an infestation they can’t get rid of. If one person has them, they will spread.
I saw some items which I collect being thrown away felt a bit wasted as I stay near that neighbourhood. Hope the brothers are doing well with the volunteers help😊
Confirm bugs will be back. For items that they want to keep, it must be wash in BOILING Hot water to kill the bugs If can throw must throw, Its not easy Well done voulunteers!
It's tough, esp. with those old problematic hoarders. Like you mentioned, all clothing must wash with hot water, and many house corners must Hot Steam few rounds.
Its crazy to me that the volunteers were willing to do this, hope they took proper measures to avoid spreading it to their own abodes. If any one gets gets a bedbugs problem at the early stage, diatomaceous earth(basically like powdered version of silica gel) is the answer. I got bed bugs from resting on a couch for an hour in NS and it was hell, waking up at 4am with 4-6 itchy bites on the back everyday wasn't fun, the buggers were so tiny they're practically invisible. Tahan how long they also won't ever leave. Diatomaceous earth takes a while to work since it kills the bugs via dehydration and depends on the bugs walking over it, it wouldnt make sense to put powder on the mattress either. Had to surround my bed with the powder like its some kind of satanic ritual and use a garment steamer all over the mattress for a solid month hoping that smothered all the eggs to death. How the brothers in the video managed to endure this long is beyond me, I probably only had 4-5 bedbugs in my room and was already losing my mind, while these guys probably have hundreds. Their tenacity to endure is amazing.
When I was in Hilton hotel in downtown Sydney Australia 🦘...my bed have bed bugs ..it bit me all over...my skin was itchy for more than a week...😅I was disappointed..it's not a cheap hotel..but then again..it humanly that it can happen...
Bedbugs are like Hotel California. Once they check in they will never leave. Had the misfortune of bringing a couple (literally) home in 2016. Since then I’ve moved twice and I’m still experiencing occasional bites today! They itch like crazy and the scars are fugly and hard to fade. You may think treatment solves it but it doesn’t affect the eggs. When the eggs hatch the cycle begins all over again. The eggs are so tiny it’s impossible to find them. Every year as soon as the weather gets warmer the eggs hatch bites appear and I treat. If I’m lucky it ends there. Till next year. Rinse and repeat till all the eggs hatch!
Those bugs will be back within a week, these people have absolutely no idea what they're dealing with. This is not a job for volunteers solely, they need professional exterminators to apply pesticides on many different occasions to even have a chance at tackling the problem. They also most likely inadvertently spread the infestation through their clothes unless they stripped down immediately after and threw them away in a dumpster. These are not your average bugs; they are absolute hell.....
People see this and think it won't happen to them or their parents. But honestly i see so many older generation are simply unable to see past their 'set ways' & admit that they have a problem or need help. The difference is that it comes out in other aspects of their life even if they are financially secure. Ageing gracefully is a skill, not an entitlement.
Bed bugs are very hard to deal with. Needs to throw away funitures. Clean the house entirely. Bed bug is immuned to most household insect repellent. Volunteers mustake sure they have cleansed themswlves before entering their own home. All their shirt must be wash separately b4 goong home. Bed bugs can easily dominate your house
very good. and wow never in my life and im 35 and not onces in my whole life i never seen a bed bug in my life. i only seen bed bugs in videos like youtube. and i traveled to lot of hotels and motels. thats good there helping the elders. thos 2 brothers are like the only family left. well not all of there famliy. like there grandperents and parents and uncles and aunts are gone. but im sure they have cousins left but there most likey not close with them or they live far away. me and by brother are still single and we live with our parents still and still have one grand parent left all our of uncles and aunts all still alive and healthy. in the future i think me and my brother will be liveing togather alone when we get old to our 80s.
I think the final message is good, but please place it at the start as some people don’t finish watching the video before commenting, so it would defeat the purpose of protecting the homeowners from certain comments.
You know what's worse than Bed Bugs? MOTHS! Their little larvae are relentless. Despite the claims, the little suckers do bite! When unable to find sufficient nutrients, they eat your toenails while you sleep!
Keep everything CLEAN, do it everyday, under mattress, clothes closets, rugs, yes it takes some time but if you don't want bugs Cleaning makes a Big Difference. ❤❤
Don't be silly. A relative who has been living in a house for decades and cleans it regularly ended up with this nightmare after a group of Cecas moved into the terrace units just 2 doors away.
He was embarrassed to tell the social worker about the state of his house . Now the whole world is going to know how it looks like ,even worst after telling her 😅
Many employers do not realise their maids are the ones who bring back the bugs after their weekend rendezvous with the Cecas and Banglas and it does not help many budget hourly hotels are so dirty.
@@synkoticI would bet everything I own that a few of them were affected and brought them home. It’s like they don’t understand they are hitchhikers. Good people but naive when it comes to BB
But why though doesn't the 2 brothers clear it by themselves? Bit by bit everyday or every other day or when they are free? They have their whole lives to do it before. I have never seen such massive bug infestation. The volunteers are wonderful!
Sometimes it's not that easy when you're in that situation. We may think "well it's just removing trash bit by bit" but to them it's something more emotional than just physical. I think it's even a struggle for some elderly to even have proper meals daily and go about completing simple tasks. It's really kinda sad..
Decision paralysis. It's like whenever we have to do something big, but we can't get started so we start procrastinating and push it aside. And then the pile gets bigger and becomes even more overwhelming to start.
If you dun change the habit of bringing home stuff and leaving so many clusters in the house .. you cnt get rid of bed bugs .. they will hide and it only take 1 to reproduce. 1 single mated female can lay eggs without the males
I moved into an apartment with BB. So I moved out and into another one leaving 95 percent of my stuff. Left ALL furniture. Only took one big bag of clothes that were in the drier for an hour. And my photos that were up high, in the storage room furthest away from the bedroom. My 2 cats. Bought a new litter box on the way to new place and I still brought them here. Place has been sprayed by professionals 4 times and I’m still being bit. Worst part I spent 12k on new furniture thinking there was no way I brought them with me. They are a F nightmare. It’s nice what these people did but I hope they took their clothes off before they went home. They are called hitchhikers for a reason. I would bet a million dollars (if I had it) at least a couple of them brought them home. They are truly evil. In the apartment here they would be under all baseboards, in all electricity sockets etc. literally everywhere
I know you guys are really trying to help but unless the 2 uncles decide to help themselves and stop hoarding, it's just gonna happen again. Speaking from personal experience. For someone to not care and have bedbugs to that extent, there's nothing you can do unless the people really wanna change as well
