After finishing high school, Ryan Thayer decided to work for his father's construction company. Fueled by his ambition, Ryan decides to expand, taking on more clients and jobs than he could handle. It didn't take long for him to hit cash flow issues, causing him to engage in fraudulent transactions with insurance companies. Railroaded by the Justice System, Ryan is sentenced to several years in the PA State Prison System and finds himself in a Supermax facility.

He tells Ian he just kept working, in reality it was the exact opposite. He gave this convoluted response, that gave no answer to what he did. He would literally get paid to start a job, then he wouldn't finish it. Then move on to the next family and do the same. That's all he had to say. Giving all this info about adjusters and inspectors is a load of shit trying to confuse listeners. Guess he doesn't realize people can just look up what he really did? 🤦‍♂️

Ya all you gotta do is read the judges description on how his father acted in court and the statements made to the judge and you’ll see where the son gets it from. The judge stated he did not think the elder Thayer was not remorseful at all and would stare at the the victims in court and stated the company he started in the early 90s was more his sons than his, and that it was in his wife’s name, even though he would collect checks from victims and take them on tours of previous work they did to convince them to work with them. He can’t take any accountability for his actions, you know what they say, like father like son.

He wasn’t “working too fast to get paid and therefor needing money to finish other customers homes.” He was leaving customers homes unfinished, not started, or partially done and the quality of work was abysmal. I feel like what started his whole career into basically fraud, was that he blew the money off some how. Because if it happened like he explained, then at a certain point he would have eventually been able to level out. If you are taking money from one gig and stacking it on the next gig, and so on and so forth, I just don’t see a scenario where you don’t track your paper trail and eventually get yourself out of the hole somehow, whether it’s a loan or whatever. It’s when you jerk off money and lose track of your stealing that you get to where this guy was. That’s just my honest opinion.

In a pa state prison it doesn’t matter the amount of money you made for the charge u were convicted for whether u stole a pack of gum an you have a bad record or u scam someone out of 10 million dollars you could 100% land at the same max prison they send you anywhere in pa lifers are at all 25 jails and u could have a 1-2 year sentence which is pretty much the smallest sentence unless u get a 6months to 24 months you could still get sent to a max state prison in pa it doesn’t matter they send you anywhere they have space anyone who’s been upstate pa can vouch an say this is 100% FACTS!!

I was listening in the car and it was starting to sound too much like everyone else’s fault so I looked up the news articles. Great interview on your end, I wish he had answered the questions about motive but the honesty just wasn’t there to begin with.

Congrats on your success Ian! Your hard work is admirable. This podcast has been very interesting & I was hooked after watching one Tik Tok. Not gonna lie though, this one was hard to watch/listen to. He seemed very uninterested in being in this interview. At the beginning there was nothing to hook onto. Quick cut & dry answers, without getting much background. Later he finally gets to talking and giving some detail and it was easier to follow but, the first 3-5 minutes of a video can define the outcome. If it’s not interesting, a lot of people will dip out early. Mad props to him for putting his story out there, I’m sure it’s not an easy thing to do. No hate or trying to bash him. It’s just the lack of effort made this a hard episode to want to watch. If you don’t wanna interview, totally fine, just don’t do it. If you’re gonna do it though, please put in some effort. Remember people are putting in work, & spending money for you to tell your story. Provide them the same effort. Do your research, watch previous interviews to get an understanding of how it’s going to go. If you’re uncomfortable talking about how you grew up, knowing that’s how ALL these interviews start, just simply don’t do it.

Nice podcast, Great interview skills... I've been locked up many times & understand how the system works & how corrupt things can be. There just seems something is off with his story- the part of him telling the story that led up to being locked up seems off- I don't want to call him a liar because I can't place my finger on what exactly it is, then the 2nd part when he's telling about in prison he seems complete Honest & genuine, 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ EDIT: I JUST READ THE ARTICLES AND BY HIS OWN ADMISSION HE DOESN'T KNOW IF HIS DAD WHOS IN COURT WITH HIM HAS A LAWYER, HOW TF DOESN'T HE KNOW?? BECAUSE HES SELF CENTERED & ONLY CARES ABOUT HIMSELF- ALSO, PRIOR TO SENTENCE RECONSIDERATION HE SAYS ON THE PHONE THAT HE WANTS TO PUT THE BLAME ON HIS DAD. RECORDED JAIL PHONE CALLS. THIS GUY IS NO GOOD..
