I use Good Notes 5 just because IT's really easy to handle and it don't complicated to Import other Filles. I used One Note for a little while but nahhh I didn't like it that much🌞
I am using OneNote on my laptop because I didn't have an iPad 😢 But OneNote is definitely the best note taking app haha ((it's free Thanks for sharing !
I don't like my handwriting. So for note-taking in OneNote and MSWord, I download (or purchase from etsy) handwritten (note-taking) fonts that look like a kid or a student's handwriting, my fave free font are Gaegu and Caroni. So I type instead of writing but it still gives the effect of handwriting.
can confirm i didn't really study until i got my ipad and used onenote - annotating lecture slides on an ipad was the best thing that happened to my study habits
@@shanalora2419 use any app that can annotate on pdfs. I don’t think notability or good notes is ideal for this, but I think collanote is better for having both pdfs and notes
I use both goodnotes + onenote. I personally dont need that much never ending space that onenote offers and i don't really like it. So i like to write my digital notes on goodnotes to keep them organized and compact, and then export them as a pdf to onenote in order to have my notes accessible on my devices when needed! Plus the notebook/section/file is my favorite thing about onenote. Best of both world haha
This channel is going to explode with subs! I'm telling you :) Thank you for your iPad and OneNote review, they were really helpful for me. Keep it up!
Currently trying to explore interoperability between my iPad, Desktop & phone and OneNote is something I already use for work. Thanks for demonstrating how I could use this for studying too - about to start my Masters in a few weeks and trying to make it easier for myself having everything in one place (awaiting ADHD diagnosis & having everything available visually & in one place is so key!) This is such a brilliant overview 🙂
I am always torn between goodnotes and notability, and I always end up using onenote bc our uni is microsoft-based. 🤣 Anyways great info! Supporting you non stop!!
So glad I found your videos, now I used onenote on my laptop for college but recently I bought ipad, and have a worry that ipad don't have easy access to onenote but it's not the problem. Thank u
I luv the videos! but like could u do like another vid, on the surface laptop go? I want it for my birthday, and I’m trying to see is it worth the money.
Great video - bought my iPad because of your review and I’ve just downloaded OneNote. Can you convert your handwritten notes to text? If not, are your handwritten notes searchable? Thanks for producing such great content ✨👏🏼
If you rely on converting handwriting to text you should probably use Nebo. It’s real time so it works quite good. While notability, collanote and probably more apps do have a “convert handwriting to text” feature, it’s not their speciality and there are often mistakes. Notability actually uses the myscript software that nebo has developed if you buy it (in app purchase), but it’s still not that good. OneNote is the best one for cross platform as the sync is good. Notability doesn’t work simultaneously on cross platforms (and lots of issues with notes being deleted) and you need to have a Mac that is recently updated for it to work. I’m not sure about good notes, and collanote hasn’t implemented cross platform yet. All of the popular note taking apps can save a note as pdf for cross platform though.
@@kwoknation Yes you can actually. There is an option called ink to text which converts your handwritten notes to text. It works surprisingly well. Also the search option at the right upper corner of the page lets you search notes which includes the handwritten notes too (even if they are not converted).
may I ask how to solved misaligned text that won't sync handwritten notes properly from an ipad to the pc? is it probably because of the ppt format that I'm using?
ipad 8 is a good choice for you because it is one of the cheapest ipad you can get 😊. for me i wouldn't recommend ipad 8 for myself, as i need to contain lots of documents. even 128gb (max storage you can get) is only enough until there are too many documents to contain for work, which i'm lazy to delete anything, or if something is more important that i would never ever want to remove. so i got ipad pro 11" 2020 instead. i can also have the better experience thanks to 120hz display frame rate, which is very good to use the apple pencil, as 60hz of screen makes you feel a bit tricky for drawing/writing
Seconding this! I bought iPad 8 with 32GB storage used and it’s amazing. Battery lasts long, it’s fast and smooth and the only thing really that takes a lot to storage is when I download RU-vid videos 😂
Is it true that in onenote there is a small delay between the apple pen writing and the words in onenote compared to goodnotes and notability. One yter claimed that the feeling of writing is much better in goodnotes
I’ve heard the same from some youtubers but honestly unless you use both side by side and really pay attention I think you won’t notice. Writing on OneNote is really smooth on the iPad and definitely good enough for note taking!
this video helped me a lot ! but i still have a question that's been bugging and since i want to go into medical school, which implies a fuckload of note taking and pdf importing etc, i want to know if the notes end up taking up too much storage on your ipad ? if 32 gb is enough to last an entire degree ? how's storage going for you now ? i have onedrive as well so i'd sync it all to the cloud but still i worry the offline notes take up too much space and id have to buy the 128 gb version. thank you for this video !
glad you found it helpful! I’m not sure how big your note sizes will be if you use a lot of attachments (images/audio files) within notes but I’ve tried opening all of my notebooks throughout 3 years of college on OneNote for iPad and it seemed to still have a few GB of free space left. that said my notes are mostly handwritten / typed and pdf printouts!
@@kwoknation thank you for replying ! i plan on mostly using pdf printouts and handwritten notes, so your experience helps me a lot to decide. if 32 gb is still holding up after all this time then it's absolutely worth it !!
@@wxkh1193 yea for sure! I've heard OneNote uses more storage than Notability sometimes but its currently only taking up 1.5GB on my iPad & I have about 7 courses open on OneNote
@@kwoknation THANK YOU SO MUCH !! this helps me more than you know. if it's only 1.5gb then 32 could be more than enough !! even for medical school, as pdfs shouldnt weight much. now im sure of what model to buy. keep up your great work !! this channel is destined to grow more and more, im sure !
Hi! Can somebody help me? I'm using the 2016 version (not the windows 10) of OneNote. The features are great and helpful. However, there are lots of issues with the syncing process. It's working well before, I don't know what happened. My notes were not being saved on onedrive but on the onenote itself even though I logged in ny account so I cannot access it with my phone. It's so frustrating, even if I manually sync it, my notes won't appear on my other devices. Help me please, thank you
I usually just create separate pages within a notebook for separate sections :/ unless you need to print them out? But OneNote automatically makes sure nothing is cut off when printing/saving to pdf
Idk why but i feel that OneNote on iPad is kinda buggy and does not feel fully optimised for iPad and Apple Pencil. I prefer the built in notes app on my iPad.
I’m between the Air 4 and the 8th. I’m loving your videos, congrats for that. Could You bring more about handwriting experience on iPad 8th? PS.: sorry if i wrote something wrong, i’m not english native speaker.
how good is it compared to handwriting on real paper? Is there a lot of lag? Is it possible to use iPad 8 with Apple Pencil instead of the regular notebook? Are there any good options for third-party pens for the Apple Pencil?
Anyone face the same problem that the resolution of pdf imported to Onenote is really low? I mean it doesnt affect me reading it but I just find it strange
I love one note. My only issue with one note is when you encode/type your notes and then add handwritten notes or scribbles on that same page, adding something between encoded notes, destroys the part where I made my handwritten notes :( like it doesnt go down along with the encoded notes
@@claynite2784 unfortunately no- I simply write the handwritten notes beside the typewritten notes(outside the box, on the right side) and just put some arrows
Thanks for this great video!! 😀 About the no limit to the page, what if we want to divide it up into pages though instead of a continuous scroll. Can we? Thank you!
Happy to help :) and you can’t divide the pages in the app yet (I think) but if you print or export your OneNote page to a pdf it automatically splits it into regular A4 pages or whatever size you choose and it won’t cut off your notes
I don't use Google Classroom, but I think you'd have to download them onto your device first and then export to OneNote. I usually download pdf slides onto my PC and then "Print" to OneNote
