i tape the shaft and knob very similar but i only tape about a third of my blade at the toe end so i can generate more speed on the puck with the smooth blade before it catches to the tape

I got some shaved 1s sticks from a goalie in the alsvensken and I loved then so much so now I sand paper down the edges of my paddle to make it smoother and rounder

I'm glad you use the wide white tape and not the skinnier ones.

I am a forward so mine is slightly different and I am one of those superstitious guys. I always tape the top first with a thick knob and do the same grip routine basically as yours. On the blade I always start from the heel and work my way to the toe and I have to have every overlap the same amount and I leave exactly one inch of the toe exposed. I then cover the blade with some wax. I always sharpie a cross on the outward side of the tape on the knob and I always use the same brand tape….I am one of the weird ones lol!

I've always done the whole "tape the toe cut with scissors" thing, is there any actual advantage or disadvantage to this? Does it matter? haha

What size paddle?

The top of my stick is black Lizard Skin with a "normal" width white cloth tape knob. I wish Bauer would have trigger grips as an option if you buy a stick through My Bauer.

I no longer tape my handle or the end of the shaft. I play mostly inline hockey so I sweat more than the average goalie. I don't like any of the pre-made devices like buttends. Those tend to be extremely wearing on the blocker palm. I found that Plasti dip is great. Not the spray on but the kind you paint on. It's grippy and it last a long time and it doesn't wear on the palm. Does need touching up every now and then. 10 bucks for a can will last 6 months or so.

To be honest. I like the knob style of the tape. I kind of what did yours but increase the span of the spinning of thick white tape roll rather than tightening up together. The handle I actually don’t put any sort of tape on it at all just for personal preference and the blade I go full classic from heel to toe as I don’t want the blade to become ripped or damaged when I want to use it the fullest if possible. Overall rating of your stick, I like it: A- would of been a perfect A if it wasn’t for leaving out the toe blade out without some tape. Kind of what agreed to what BonesTV is saying about the blade tape, but it’s your preference man.

What length paddle do you use?

Rockin the trigger grip over 12 years now n can’t play without it👍🏻 thick tape on the handle cause I have big ass hands lol I also use griptape 👌🏻 is there a chance 2 get a signed practice jersey of u? Tried it when u played with the leafs but had no chance coming near the tunnel ugh I’ll send u a letter with post stamps if that helps💪🏻

Hey Kas, I see the trigger grip is the same as it was in the Playoff Bubble vlogs, have you made any changes to the way you tape your stick? And are you still using the finger protection block too?

I tape my sons stick most weeks for his games, on the back of the blade’s tape I always write his good luck message “LET’S GO CALEB #3”

I do a very basic tape job on my sticks I'm a d-man and sadly not a very good one. 😔 If I do get the puck I immediately pass it or shoot a muffin towards the direction of the net. My game is not fancy, so my sticks aren't either.

9.5/10 you need to do the toe

6.5 on the tape job bud gotta have a better finish point on the blade
