I am in the beginning of learning to use the slide board. I find your go get it done it attitude very inspiring. One thing I like about your representation is anyone can tell this is quite difficult and that helps me to understand that I don't just jump up there and slide over. It is difficult And it's OK if it's hard work.

I fractured both ankles so I’m in a wheelchair for a few months and i am amazed at how you make the transfer from chair to suv with such ease and you did it all by yourself no less. Bravo and thank you.

Incredible display of a strong character and a never give up attitude. Great technique as well! What are your thoughts on possibly using a longer transfer board, like a 30 inch length? Auto mobility equipment installers and manufacturers like mobility works or mobility innovations have and can install a transfer board that attaches to the frame of the car seat and just flips up to close the door ane down for the transfer. I got hurt 19 years old 1981 T-12 and they gave me a board like that but I never needd it. Now I am 63 and want a Porsche 911 Turbo S which is a low vehicle seat with a gap space ofabout 8-10 inches from the door jam to the seat and want to make the transfer as easy and as safe as possible so I am exploring my options. I may just put a hunk of 4" or so firm foam in the vehicle door gap. check out the fixed plate transfer boards of mobility innovations....Good luck 😊

I tried getting into an SUV with a transfer board. One day, the transfer board slipped and while trying get into the seat I fractured my femur. My advise to anyone is always have someone capable of catching the wheelchair user if they slip off the board and watch how their legs are positioned as they are trying to get into the SUV. For me, I won't try getting into one again unless I can be helped in to the SUV.
