There are some songs that kinda fit the bill (The Story of Us, Better Than Revenge - the lyrics on this one are very much a YIKES but Taylor herself said that she regrets them so I let them pass bc the instrumental is a bop, and Haunted), but the rest of the album is pretty much straight up country. Taylor was definetly starting to test the boundaries of her songs back then, though; she definetly defied the formula on the songs I mentioned.

@@menoguchi no not really. speak now can't pass as straight up country. there are songs like sparks fly, long live, haunted, tsou and better than revenge. pretty sure speak now is categorized as country pop and pop rock. and taylor spoke about how she regrets putting btr but never anything about tsou.
