How I use Logic Pro X for Live Audio Processing 

I have been using Apple's Mainstage as a live mixer for over 2 years for a 5 piece band, with 21 inputs and 14 outputs using Thunderbolt audio interfaces and its SO MUCH better than the live mixers I have owned. You just have to take the time to learn what plugins are zero latency and which ones to avoid. Mainstage is basically Logic for live audio, it takes some time to wrap your head around its workflow but it has less overhead than Logic but has all of the same effects and instruments as logic pro. I ran a 4 hour club show from a laptop with zero issues. Granted it was the M1 Max 16 inch but it didn't struggle at all!

great idea! we tried channeling through logic for a live show. 5 channels, couple of eq and comp plugins and a bus with reverb. Apple M1 handled it great with no latency issues

Hi Andy, great video - thanks for posting. If you had a snake that was trs jacks to balanced mic outputs would that juse work the same as the DI rack you use?

would you be able to do a similar thing using the loop back function from an Audient ID24; Logic Pro and MacBook Pro M3Max for a two piece band while playing a backing track from the Mac. The Mac is playing the backing track to the ID24 (DAW 1&2) which internally loops back on ID24 Digital Inputs 9&10. At the same time a guitar is connected to the id24’s JFET on analogue Input 1 and a mic on id24’s analogue input2. The three tracks should come through on logic as 3 inputs where u can apply any affects u need. But how then would I route either an analogue signal through an amp to passives or digital to powered speakers with an integrated DAC and Amp?

Thats exactly what ive been thinking of doing. I bought an XAir18 for in ears but then iI was wondered is: Whats holding me back from just running the stereo bus straight out of the main of my mixer and mix in logic? Also im a lot faster in logic, than i am at the consoles some venues provide😅

I wanna do this for guitar Like guitar amp- and then run it through logic plugins effect stuff making it sound insane yk ahaah

what kind of reverb/compressor did you use for the vocals

Do you use in ears to avoid feedback with live compression?

Why not use MainStage 3 instead of Logic?

Do you know about Tony Little from the 90's?
