With all the new tech tools we need some cool sort of integrated 3d ref tool in 2d animation software. With all the ai stuff coming something cool and useful could be made with great camera capabilities
Yes, that is correct but even if you do that it's still not going to look 100% 2d. Also to get 3d to look like it's 2d, it's going to take a lot of work in modelling + rigging and animation to get it to work, which also takes a lot of time (and in my case this is much easier). Also in the video I have mentioned that I animated on top of the 3d model, adding expressions, blink etc. And I didn't mentioned it in the video but I also added a subtle squash and stretch, if you do all of these in 3d, that's going to take time and also it's not going to look exactly as I have envisioned, because 3d is bound by the 3d space, which ensures it's correctness, but you need to break the 3d model in order to add even just a subtle exaggeration (which adds to the complexity if you're going to do this in 3d). But that is not to say that the 2d look is superior to the 3d look + toonshader. They have their own unique style. Both processes have their own pros and cons, and you also have to look at what the animator is good at. Also in terms of my skillset, I have more experience in frame by frame than in 3d. So to get blender + toonshader, to make it in the same quality as the frame by frame version, is something I couldn't do quickly. So this workflow is more of a frame by frame animation workflow rather than a blender one.
wow I though I was cheating I use the same method put with clay sculptures since I'm good with sculpting from my childhood I don't know how put your channel just gives me answers to my questions thx guys for making this videos it really helped me trust my way more . love you guys keep going
