I remember as a kid I started plucking my brows (not because of any trend; I just got my dad brows, which are bad on a guy and worse on a girl) and over time I kept making them thinner and thinner until I accidentally ended up with half a brow (I was just trying to even them out!). I got creative and put some brown eye-shadow so I wouldn't get in trouble, and despite the fact that it was the wrong shade and blurry around the edges my parents miraculously didn't notice. Thankfully, because I had my dad's shitty hairy eyebrow genes, they grew back completely and fairly quickly. After that I concluded that I clearly had no talent for shaping and just plucked between and under my brows so I didn't have a unibrow and my eyebrows didn't widen in the middle. Later everyone else would start experimenting with brows and I stayed normal while everyone else had orange shit and sperm brows. Then the thick eyebrow trend became a thing and I was golden. They eyebrows I had were thick (that was the hairy eyebrow genes doing their thing) and the excess hair hardly grew anymore. So I guess in the end my genetic curse was a blessing in disguise.

I wish I didn't wear makeup in 6th through 8th grade. I had the same horrible hair clips and blue eyeshadow.

My elementary bff had AWESOME colors on her braces I was so jealous of!!!! And there was a girl with head gear who our teacher joked could talk with aliens, but only her and the teacher; we were all SO JEALOUS and begged her to translate!!!!
