Becoming a good trader takes time and patience. When i first got into trading i was liquidated twice, and lost my entire mortgage deposit. I could have given up, but decided to learn how to trade and put it into practice. 4 years later and i am glad i made that decision.
I agree, that's the more reason I prefer my day to day invt decisions being guided by a invt-coach, seeing that their entire skillset is built around going long and short at the same time both employing risk for its asymmetrical upside and laying off risk as a hedge against the inevitable downward turns, coupled with the exclusive information/analysis they have, it's near impossible to not out-perform, been using a invt-coach for over 2years+ and I've netted over 1.5million
I've been thinking of going that route, been holding on to a bunch of stocks that keeps tanking and I don't know if to keep holding or just dump them, think you inv-coach could guide me with portfolio-restructuring
‘Grace Adams Cook’ is the licensed advisor I use. Just research the name, you’d find necessary details to work with a correspondence to set up an appointment.
Yes bro thank you I agree 100% this video helped me realize what my intentions were for trading and it was abt making money no matter how much I told myself it wasn’t it really was and everything you said abt disconnecting from the money and just focusing on gaining satisfaction from good habits I believe that is going to help me tremendously so thank you brother very grateful you decided to make videos and educate us we really appreciate it
I see trading as a game. I lose, and learn, and improve. Over and over. And I love it. I love the idea of learning and getting better. I will become profitable.
@@aaronhall4361 Thank you. It's you vs you when you have positive expected value with your strategy. And most of retails don't have that. But randomness makes them think they do. You can be right 15 times in a row doing a coin flip and it doesn't make you a good coin flipper. Same with trading. Most retail traders thinking they have an edge are just coin flippers that got lucky enough to believe they are good traders.
There’s alot of value in this video for new traders here. I’ve been profitable for over 4 years now and most of the topics covered are all facts knowing I’ve experienced the exact situation when I got started. I’m just grateful I never give up or listened to people… believe in yourself, be disciplined, eliminate greed or distractions and stay focus this isn’t a sprint, it’s a marathon and once you understand that.. being profitable will become a reality. 😉
Realest shit you'll hear as a trader. Focus on the process! Still struggling holding until my TP and closing winners early but comes back to trusting the process. I'll get there i know it. Just a matter of time. Been extremely consistent ever since i began following u brotha. Much love and keep this new content coming. Appreciate the shit outta u justin real shit!
For me it’s been the opposite. I let my trades go to my stop loss instead of taking profit early because I believe it’s a pullback but in reality is a reversal. I might implement a breakeven or a stop loss in profit after a 1:2.
I'm only 70% through the video, but I can't tell you how valuable this video will be for everyone who isn't quite profitable yet. The two things that made me way better at trading, was journaling my setups thoroughly, and holding myself accountable. If I saw my setup but didn't take it, why was that? If I missed my setup, or if I took a bad setup outside of my parameters, etc, why was that? Journaling every detail, and holding yourself accountable will elevate you drastically
The line which hitt meee sooo soo harddd ' you know what the problem is but you just don't want fix it' because we don't want to Missout anyy , literally any opportunity. We want to trade everything. We just wanted to make money. Thankyou so much brotherr ❤️❤️
I’m constantly amazed at how similar trading is to poker. Bank roll management, not being results oriented, taking outsized bets, not going on tilt during down swings, taking shots at bigger games/scaling etc. Great video.
Real talk! Thanks Justin. All you need are habits that re-enforce your edge. Been breaking even for the last 2-3 months after 1.5 years of learning, losing, learning. These days my P/L grows consistently for a week or two, I feel like I’m getting the hang of it, and then I lose it all in a day. Reasons: 1. Sizing up more than required (focusing on making money) 2. Taking more trades (Focusing on making money) What I’m gonna change: 1. Stick to my plan of taking 1 good trade which triggers based on my edge. Win or loss, doesn’t matter. 2. Keep the size consistent for 2-3 months.
This is my very first youtube comment ever and I am doing this because of the need to do it. Keep up the good work you are 100% being real and I thank you for it. EVERYTHING you said on this video I came to this conclusion finally and accepted it. Funny enough this video popped up on my feed after reaching this conclusion while reflecting on what I did the previous week. the feeling of aha moment when I hear you say what I came to realize was THE confirmation I needed. crazy....
My favorite video of the year!!!!!!! This was my earlier in my trading career! You’re the first person I hear explained it like this and it tells me you went through a lot to breakthrough! I used to care too much about being profitable and the market checked me one day with a 20k loss I had to dig deep inside myself to correct they mindset and now I’m profitable!
@@macheifach when I come to the markets the only thing I think about is how investors on the day perceive value. I am not a SMC trader I am someone who looks to see where value will be on the day and take advantage of that. So my main focus is trying to think how others are thinkng and watching the interaction between buyers and sellers. It really helps me to understand that the market is just one big Ginormous auction and I’m just focused on the process of the auction
Yow are now my favorite trader.. literally last night I posted a comment on someone’s video. I’ve been trading for around 3 years now and I have never had a profitable year. 1st year was learning , 2nd year revenge , 3rd year bad habits…
One thing I heard this week is "Comparison is the thief of joy". I no longer look at social media or traders that claim to be insanely profitable. I only care about MY trading. Quality trades. Almost overnight with the right Stoic separatist mindset, I went from an average of 30 trades a day to under 10. And Justin is right. Divorce your P/L and stop attaching your mindset to money. This video is GOLD. Everything in this 25 minutes is SPOT ON. Thanks, Justin!
It’s not about making money, it’s about building good habits. This can be applied to all walks of life. Great advice. I will become profitable and succeed in my trading journey, I’m on the right path!
needed a reality check. big thanks. i've been going super overconfident but i also keep taking profits early before reaching my targets. ironic part is that i literally hit my targets 80% of the time, rather than letting the trade trail out or hit my take profit. i need to flip the switch and go back to trading 1-3 contracts maximum. even 3 might be too much.
🔥 vid Changed my pnl to ticks to not care about the money, I’ve been trading for about 4-5 months and I always find myself doing really good on the first week of my eval then I fuck up by the 2-3 week. It’s definitely me trying to rush the process something I need to be more self aware. I feel like I can be good, if I just cut out the unnecessary trades I take.
First time watching one of your RU-vid videos and I just want to say this one helped a lot. A lot of value in this video. These might not get the most views but this top of raw talk is the best for traders
Love this. Has been a cold long journey- but so much has improved with proper journaling and military discipline . It’s a bloody must really.. But I love it- love the markets - love me VS me. I WILL master myself and I WILL break through this B/E stage 🎉 thank you Justin love your videos ❤
need more of these brotha! going on my second year, also has been a bit more consistent ever since i learned ICT. So your story stuck with me . Thank you for sharing !
Great real talk bro! Much appreciated. In those pre profitable stages it really helps to hear the reminders that we all go through essentially the same things! 🤝🏻
Thank you for this video man. Finally addressed the problem I was having which was cutting my winners too soon and not letting my PT get hit, and now I’m seeing much more success. Just never had the balls to tackle it originally
I am absolutely watching this every single day as a must, this is extremely valuable. Listening to this while trading right now and it is helping me follow my plan. Disconnecting from the money is such a big point and my biggest limiter
This is an extremely good video, I have been worried about money, took a deep look at my journal and actions and realized I was not letting winners run to my target and would move stop to BE way too early. Adjusted my trading and told myself that my rules and process are statistically proven by my own research to yield profits, and only not following the rules can turn this into an unprofitable strategy. Then I made the most I ever had trading, but then I fell back into worrying about the money over the rules. This was a reset I needed, thanks man!
made a quick $400 after watching this video. Needed this💪🏾. When you said its not about money and more about technical analysis. its stuck with me. Im locked in!
Wow you know how many psychology videos I’ve heard over the years, to be honest I didn’t expect much from this. This is also the first video I’ve ever seen from your channel. But now you have a new subscriber. You explained the same ideals that many have covered, but it’s the way you broke it down, and the angle you approached it all. Solid work man. I’ll definitely be around.
Stop focusing on the money and submit to the process. Don’t worry what others think and stop trying to prove you’re a successful trader. Boom just saved you 25 minutes of watching.
I have come back to this video multiple times, usually before/after trading. Definitely helps me focus on the goal a lot more. Thank you brother for your knowledge and savage mentality.
this video is exactly what i needed to hear, i am 1.5 years into trading and i know i have to be focused on my process and good habits but is still hard to program my mind to not think about making money. BUT I AM GONNA GET THERE
As a working-class citizen who is trying to have a stable finance, I’ve always been an advocate of trading because it has been quite lucrative since I found a way to beat the market.
My colleagues had a good laugh at me when I told them I started my journey with $5k capital and how I accumulated over 5 figures within a span of 7 months. They never believed me until I pulled out my P&L. I know that learning the ins and outs of the market isn't for everyone, that's why personally, Jonas Herman oversees my investments.
This is the umpteenth time I've come across appraisals of his works and I’m convinced Herman is the right guy. I just shot him a mail. Thanks for sharing your experiences!
The most valuable advice here is to focus on the process and good habits. Surely this implies NOT to focus on the outcome and money. But this has to be said over and over again. Great video Justin.
yt recommendations giving out gold rn, ong what an amazing vid on psychology, he listed all the problem im currently facing, working through them tho, great vid👍
Mm you put it in perspective for me. I’m the break even trader right now. Just took a look at my trades and I realized I completely disregard my strategy at times which puts me back at a loss. Basically when I nearly blow my account I tend to be strategic and when I’m in profit, my attention is on not losing the profit… 2.5 years for me omg🤯this better be the turning point
Thanks Justin. My hats are off for you to be in your stage at your age. I’m much older and everything you said is on point. Doing good on Combine and can’t keep XFA. Yes it’s money mindset… I gotta come up with strict rule and after that go away. Plz. Keep these coming. Greeting from San Diego 🤙🏽
I so liked this video, Justin! You shared the mindset on key aspects of trading - following the process, putting money-making in its place (secondary to process), and facing risk head on before entering the trade. It reminded me to be ready to lose "x" amount as part of my trading plan. Last but so key, journaling. My trading life does depend on it!!! Thank you for sharing!
These are your best videos Justin. I learned a lot from this and i hope you know that you are helping people A LOT. May god bless you and keep grinding
bro just thank you for every video ur making for every though ur having i really appreciate every single effort ur making. U have changed everything for me as an individual thanks.
Great video man. My performance went up when I slowly switched from: I wanna make 100 a day to I wanna have profitable day to I wanna see what is market doing, build a narrative and enter when my conviction is high (and not looking back, win is good, loss is part of the play)
First time seeing your channel and i already feel like you a real one not one of those youtuber/trader that just want money off people. All those things you said relate to me lol. Great video! Subscribed!
bro - no bullshit, i apprecate this more than you. I've been focused too much on making money and not on the actual habits and foundation. THANK YOU BOSS!
I’ve been doing this for about 4 years now and I gotta say that I’m actually just now seeing trading for what it is. The setups and following the plan created. I’m still working on getting over the idea of money.
Thank You for your insightful video. I thought it was great. I've watched it three times and downloaded it to listen to when needed. You discribed what I've been telling myself for the last year.. This was GREAT.
So Happy I found this video!! I've been doing this the pass year and it's changed my trading tremendously. Disconnect the Money!! Now I Need to Journal. Thanks for this video
Thanks for the video. Everything you said is as accurate as can be. I didn't start becoming profitable until I had that mindset shift. Please make more videos like this. I know serious traders like myself appreciate the information.
You’ve completely changed my mindset about trading when it comes to choosing size based on market conditions, always going into the day trying to make money, and simply feeling like the market owes me something. I appreciate all the gems you drop 🙏🏽 I journal all of my trades on my channel and and I’m able to see the mistakes that’s so small that it’s laughable lol this year will be my break out year
Absolutely amazing video! Been trading for 18 months and about 12 months of studying ict and im in that break even stage right now and it is exactly what you said about those small stupid losses that add up. I have shifted my focus from social media and learning more from videos etc and are now focusing more on journaling and my psychology. Its not the knowledge about trading concepts or technical analysis thats holding me back, but me myself. I catch myself scrolling on twitter and looking in older discord groups from time to time and it definetly affects me some times, would you recommend to go full cold turkey on social media for a while and just lock in on journaling and building good habits? I want to do it but have the fomo of mising out on tweets and knowledge that could potentially help me, but again its not the knowledge or technical analysis that is holding me back. Any thoughts?
I truly believe that trading allows one to become more than just someone who can read charts and generate money, is teaches a high level of self agency and discipline, although monetarily I am not where I intend to be, I am literally improving more an more every single day, Keep up the great content Justin !
Hi Justin, firstly thank you for putting out all the free valuable content that you do, it has been very beneficial to me and I’m sure a lot of others. Slightly off topic, but do you have many traders in your community that trade your strategy during London session? I want to join, but this is the only session that I will be able to consistently be present for
Thank you man. Ive been posting on facebook on my trades and then I lose 1 trade but because of validation that i want my friends that im winning always I fcuked up my psychology. But this video made me realize that i need to stop posting shits and do it on a journal instead
hey Justin this is my first time watching your videos but i just wanna say thanks for just genuinely talking about real life trading experiences this really helps a lot and makes me think differently! lately I've built my own model off (ICT) well my mentor called Mando Model trading taught me and broke things down hes on youtube! and I'm at that breaking even stage I'm now profitable with my model but im still trynna find my edge and become way much more better ...this videos really talks for its self, thank you!
