How i went bald and lost almost half of my hair because of one Cantu Product 😡 

I know exactly what you're talking about. Same thing happen to me & I caught it when I started to detangle my hair. My hair, right around the edges and slightly on top of my head, leading down into my edges were like glued together. I went back to the water to try to get it unglued. I put a clarifying shampoo in to rewash my hair to try and get the leave in conditioner out. I was able to get most of the conditioner out but not all of it because some parts of my hair remained in a glued like state. I lost quite a bit of hair. It was broken off, but thankfully not all the way to the scalp. So my edges and some parts of my hair right above my edges were broken off from detangling. I threw away the leave in conditioner, shampoo, and the daily moisturizer. My hair is slowly coming back, but I don't think it will ever catch up to the rest of my hair. I will never buy any cantu products again.

Cantù is a palm colored people product company . The formula doesn’t always work on textured beautiful hair

I threw all of my Cantu products away. They don't moisturize and make scalp extra dry.

Thank you for sharing. The same thing happened to my hair and edges. I had no idea it was the product. I started using in December 2023, the leave-in, spray moisturizer, shampoo, conditioner, and my edges started getting thinner and thinner. My hair has also been tangling like crazy and shedding. I'm throwing all of these products away. It's divine intervention that I ran across this video. Here I am thinking that it must be hormonal or stress related, but I never suspected the product. I'm going back to making my own products. You can't trust anything these days. I bought the whole bundle at Sally's Beauty because of a sale they were running and I thought it was a good deal.

Aww same thing happened to me when I used this brand products and shea moisture!!! they use rubbing alcohol and other **intentional ** drying ingredients in it because they know what audience use their products. These horrible people will soon pay in Gods timing. It took me YEARSSSS to get my hair so full and thick and but it just never returned back. mine wasn't as long as yours so I pray your story ends different your hair is beautiful

Dinma, I'm so sorry this happened to you. I've bought three Cantú products during the past ten-plus years, and I think they're terrible. The first was a leave-in conditioner that got moldy in the jar, in a short time! The products have never been good for my hair, but I tried again, twice, because the packaging is always nice, and the products feel and smell pleasant. Each time I've been disappointed, I've wondered how the product line hasn't been discontinued. Almost every product I have ever tried that was marketed to non-Black curlies performs better on my 4c curls and coils than those three Cantú products. I sincerely hope that you and your hair recover from this experience.

You are going to be blessed and your hair will grow back. I used avocado and aloe vera mixed together as s detangler for my daughter's hair, before I shampoo it. This mixture really offers great benefits.

Omgosh. I'm so sorry that you had to experience this! I had an allergic reaction to Cantu Creme!! You're not alone. It gave me bad rash with itching. Your hair is beautiful. Oh so sorry to see that this product lead to your hair being ruined dear, I also experienced something similar last year in December but mine was caused by eco styling gel I used to do gel down hair styles a lot as a form of protective hair style in winter season but that came back to haunt me badly my hair was so matte that I couldn’t even separate it my only option was to cut it, was so hurt because I had been natural for 4 years and my hair was healthy and full too,nevertheless I came across your hair videos on RU-vid when u was trying to find videos to help me regrow healthy hair and you are such a great motivator with all the detailed videos you share using basic Natural ingredients to help us, I pray that you keep going and definitely your beautiful hair will grow back,don’t lose hope😊

Reach out to the maker of the cantu products they have numbers on these products that we purchase off the shelf this shouldn't have happened I'm upset for you and you can use whatever you like I use other products as well not just diy products pay no attention to the negative comments and your hair and edges will grow back 2 times thicker❤ be ready!!!

Cantu products are cheap for a reason. When we were growing up, nothing like this happened to our hair. Now…we have to be extra cautious and stick to brands with natural ingredients when buying store bought products. We also have to research the ingredients being used no matter where we purchase. A few amazing brands: - Nature’s Ego - NowIamNappy - Mane Krush There are others as well.

OMG! Cantu moisturizing shampoo did my hair the same way. I used it once about 2 years ago and I through the whole bottle in the trash. That was the first and ONLY time I used their products. The good news is that my hair grew back and healthier than ever. Thanks to The Glamfam hair youtube channel, I tried Giovanni 2chic ultra moist shampoo and conditioner and I haven't looked back. The shampoo and conditioner is AMAZING! I have long thick 4C hair and on a normal day it would take me about an hour to detangle, NOW 15, 20 minutes tops. LOVE THIS BRAND.

Oh noooo I'm so sorry my sister your hair is your crown God bless you with I can see the sadness on your face after so many years taking care of this hair don't use these manufactured product anymore. Go back to your regular regiment it will grow back.

Hello Dinma, My encouragement to you may be a bit long but what I have to say cannot be short. I have watched a number of your hair growth videos over the years and have always admired your beautiful hair and I am so sorry to see what has happened to you after using the Cantu product. Since you are still at the stage of trying to figure out how in the world could something like this have happened, I would like to share an experience that a lady had which could shed some light on what could have escalated things for you with the Cantu product. Consideration should be given to Postpartum shedding as if the hair is in a rested hair style and any major shedding is taking place while the hair is not being combed through or detangled, major matting can occur and if a product is being applied like the Cantu product or some other product it may escalate the situation. The lady in my example had recently had a baby and I note that you said that you had also recently had a baby and many women do suffer from Postpartum shedding. The lady in my example had her hair in a resting style, not doing much with it because she was so busy with the baby and I noticed that she kept telling me that her hair when she tried to take it down was very tangled and matted. I advised her to use oils and conditioners to try to detangle her hair but strangely that did not do much. She eventually detangled the entire head of hair but what was significant was that she suffered so much hair shedding and her hairline went missing. I saw this lady with a hairline one day and the next day after she had detangled the hair it was no longer there, it was badly damaged and when I saw yours it reminded me so much of hers. Out of concern, as losing your hair can be very traumatic as hair is a woman's covering as stated by the Bible, the word of God so I gave this lady a bottle of oil which I knew grew hair rapidly. The oil is a natural oil called the ATAMAZE Miracle Hair Growth Oil and by the first week after she started to apply the oil I could see hairs sprouting out all over like crazy. By week 2 it was very clearly filling in at a rapid pace and by 1 month all that horrible Postpartum balding had filled in completely, it was indeed miraculous. Since then people found out about this Extra FAST Growing Miraculous Hair oil and bought up all of it from the store called AMAZE in Barbados and now anyone trying to access it there have to go on Amazon as no more is in stock there for the time being. I believe that there are things that can accelerate hair growth. When I checked back to find out about the hair regrowth, her mom told me that within about 6 to 7 months the hair that was cut off had almost regrown to the length of the other hair as she worked on it, so this thing about hair only growing half of an inch per month I do not believe. Whether it be something they are eating, hormones or something else, I see growth with these family members that far exceed half of an inch per month, so it is possible to regrow hair very very fast. Dinma, I pray that God would help you to regrow your hair in the shortest possible time, please do not stress yourself about what has happened, as you have your little baby to take care of and stress will only aggravate the situation and could make matters worst. I will pray by faith believing that God will help you to regrow your hair at record speed as with God all things are possible. Trust GOD and He will do it for you Dinma and some good purpose will come out of it. JUST BELIEVE. God Bless.

Wow thank the algorithms for recommending this video. This explains the constant breakage on my daughter's hair. We have been using cantu leave in conditioner for a few months and all of our progress on her hair growth journey is gone. We are back at square one with patches of her hair gone. About to throw out all cantu products right now.

The reason I love the western world is that you can actually file a law suit against the company and get compensated for all the troubles you went through using Cantu product. Am so sorry you had to go through all these trauma. I have never been a fan of Cantu hair products after my first attempt of using one of their hair moisturizer that ended up leaving white residue on my hair when I first went natural.

Sometimes competitors sabotage hair products. They add chemicals so that their competitor loses customers or it could be a bogus manufacturer.

The truth is Cantu products are not good, I started growing my hair with Cantu products and trust me it was dealing with my hair until I met someone who helped start growing my hair, so yes Cantu is not something I can recommend to anyone. I used to even be surprised when you use Cantu on your hair but I didn't want to start badmouthing them since it works for you. Thank God your hair is back now

Thats exactly what happened to me with the same product. Worse my hair feels like cotton wool. . Dead and dried iut. Like its been super dry. I can't think about anything else these days. And I don't know what to do. I also tried aloe Vera etc. And nothing helps. I'm depressed.

i have only used a cantu product once. It was a deep conditioning treatment. I never used it again, as my hair turned into straw. It became brittle and extremely dry and took quite some time to get the moisture back into it…. Since then i have stayed well clear of Cantu products. All the best in your hair healing journey … 🌍❤️

Protein overload can absolutely cause hair to mat together like that because mine did. Not sure what caused your hair matting, but protein overload can do it too. Sorry about your hair breakage. Hope it grows back even longer and thicker.

You are the 4th person that I have seen this happen too. One lady is Indian and castor oil matted her hair terribly. I was shocked. She’d been using castor oil for years. And out of nowhere, her hair became a matted dread loc. The other ladies were Black women. They had to resort to cutting their hair off. They have no idea what happened either. They were also told it was protein overload. They’ve each regrown their beautiful hair. You will too! I know it’s frustrating.

❤ hair is still beautiful. I’ve always found that regular VO5 shampoo and conditioner does the job. All the other “special “ formulas just cause irritation and extreme dryness. Glad you found out on time
