Just a note. This seems super endorsed and I understand that's typical on RU-vid but when it comes to something like hair it's kinda shitty to pretend you're using something. At a pretty high end hair salon I was at I heard the owner of the place talking about how these garnier olia new colors were turning people's headed funky colors and stripping their natural hair. Box dye from the drug store is not a good route especially when doing such a drastic change to your color.

lol this guy isn't even a real hair stylist either!! he told her to apply bleach straight on the roots and any hair stylist knows that a HUGE no no unless you want a bunch of breakage. this video makes me cringe so hard 😭

Also, if u have more than 1/2 an inch, maybe 1 inch of regrowth, u don't go straight to the root. U avoid the root bc it'll process faster & u go about 1/2 an inch lower & apply lightener from there to where the already processed blonde is. Then AFTER it's applied to those parts u apply to the roots. If u do all that regrowth at the same time u get banding & banding is not cute & creates more damage to go back & fix as opposed to doing it right the 1st time.

sally hansen I THOUGHT THE SAME THING! I don't believe her. She for sure didn't use the box bleach. My mom is a cosmetologist and works as a hairstylist and she said that those box dyes are the worse. Any box dye is crap. So I honestly don't believe she used that product.

It's actually not darker at the ends... They are just toned now to a more beige coloured blonde rather than her silver toned blonde.

+James Golda well for one thing, the color of the dye or "bleach" is clear, how did it later on just turn white? doesn't add up. and plus, when she was put the "bleach" on her ends, why didnt she show the top of her head/her roots? kinda suspicious dont you think... and plus she didnt show that she used toner? you ALWAYS use toner whenever you go blonde and thats for one the most important things you have to do so. bleach doesnt just tone the hair. and for the other things such as amount of product she had on her hair, it doesnt look like it came from that one bottle of bleach, and if she were to use another bottle of bleach, she would say so, but she didn't. i have no hate for the girl or anything, i just don't believe that this hair dye from the one brand will get you that light with just one process.

Okay I'm sorry as a hairstylist I can say with complete honesty that what ever she applied to her hair was not bleach, she did not do her own hair he do it. Notice how they never show you the roots when she's applying to the ends! This really makes me mad because this is a fat lie! Her hair is toned a completely different color you can't get that color from lighting your hair naturally.

I honestly want to know why that guy would allow you to apply BLEACH over your blonde hair. He even told you NOT to apply to previously lightened hair. As a stylist, I don't believe this video is legit. You cannot take level 4 hair to a level 9 with box bleach. And I'm not quite sure how she went from ash platinum to pale gold without a toner? Bleach would make it lighter, not darker. I'm sorry, I don't want to be a "hater" but this video is very misleading.

You definitely can, but it depends on your undertone and most hairstylist do not know enough about ethnic hair. I have gone to over 20 different hair salons in USA and europe and they have always failed to work with my hair (when the stylists was not latinx stylists) I have naturally blue undertone as my hairstylist explain to me and can easily get ash blonde which is not that common in Latinos.Even being a swimmer managed to keep a light golden blonde for over 3 years with my stylist and after moving to Europe for studies was tired of the orange tint I would get. I decided finally to speak to my boyfriend's mother who is an ex hairstylist. I now have been able to keep my hair its color with box dye (I have tried with professional products as recommended, but the products here are very diluted and not many brands arrive here especially the Wella toners). When I arrive to USA for vacation I still always go with my hairstylists and surprisingly not once had she thought I use box dye and was surprised at the condition compared to how it was when going to the salons. Sadly, hairstylists may not be able to work with all hair types and is why I recommend to find a good hair salon, but now when possible maybe resort to at home.

It's a little suspicious that when she applies the bleach on the roots the product is so transparent, then she applies the product to the rest of her hair and she doesn't show the roots, but when the "process" is finished the product is suddenly white and you can tell there are hairdresser brush marks on the forehead... i've used a lot of bleaching products in the past and not one goes from transparent to white, this kind of products are always very thick and white. So does she really bleach her hair with the Olia product? i don't think so, she probably used professional bleaching products. I don`'t understand why you're lying to us, I think you've been a little ridiculous.

Sadly I agree. Definitely did not use one box of drugstore bleach. I liked the tone of her hair better before also the warm isn't the best look on her. Pretty girl and she seems cool but I don't think it's fair to lie to people who will go out and buy this thinking they can do it themselves

That yellow is due to bleaching and no toner.. which is what a professional would do.. tone the hair to remove the yellow/orange undertones as well as suggest purple shampoo, which also continues to keep that yellow gone.

Okay something is off about this video. At the end of the video she has a bleach paste on her hair line which if you watch the application, it doesn't go on that thick. When she says "I'm done applying to the roots now so we're gonna move to the ends" the hair doesn't look even one level lighter which, if she was using bleach it definitely would. When she applies to the ends of her hair the roots are cut out of the frame probably to hide the fact that the product she is advertising does not lighten her level of hair. I'm a licensed cosmetologist and this video is so sketch. So much nope

From 5:40 there is very clearly proper bleach on her hair. I have used this dye before and it looks exactly like it does when she first applies it. It doesn't look white/blue like bleach! She also has a ton of product on her hair from 5:40. Really unfortunate. I have used this dye and my roots came out completely orange. Clearly the same thing has happened here and it's had to be bleached properly to fix it.

I noticed that. If that product was strong enough to actually get her roots past orange it would not be okay to apply to the previously bleached hair, her hair would've been falling out. It didn't fall out because that product is weak and her results were created by using actual bleach on the roots after the Garnier crap.

She was already basically blonde. I would not recommend doing this if your hair is a unnatural color (red, blue, purple ect) or from black. A dark brunette...probably could. Otherwise you should start from going to a lighter brown and work your way up from there.

Mine does. I am a natural level 6. One application of 10A hair color (20volume developer) and it’s good to go. There aren’t a lot of advantages to fine hair, but being able to lift it’s color to a blonde is one of them. 🤷🏼‍♀️

You want to roots to process and get them to the level you want them to be. If she had applied bleach to already processed hair it could have damaged it since she most likely didn't leave it that long on the rest of her hair.

ATTENTION!!! GUYS IF you're doing this at home DONT USE THIS PRODUCT. Any box bleach/dye. You should get a professional to do it. The results are not the same with a box bleach. This is fake, she clearly didn't use the box bleach. I normally wouldn't care to say any of this, but this is just straight up false advertisement and none of y'all should use this crap on your hair. If you can afford a professional, then look up good products on Sally's or any beauty supply store and get some info before. as a professional I want to say PLEASE BE CAREFUL BEFORE TRYING THIS ON YOUR OWN HAIR THESE RESULTS ARE NOT TYPICAL epically with box dye. don't think because you see it on RU-vid it's gonna work. also it does not mean it's the best way to do that for your hair. the same for commercials. do you really think Selena Gomez a spokesman of Pantene actually uses that? or that Gwen Stephanie uses box dye? they don't so don't expect to get those results. just be realistic in your choices. sorry for the rant. btw her hair came out nice and even.

I really want to put this out there as a warning to anyone wanting to try the Garnier Olia hair color products, be very cautious! FIRST I DID NOT USE the bleach product that is advertised in this video, just the normal Garnier Olia hair die! I tried it when it first became available in my area last summer. I purchased it at Rite Aide. It FRIED my hair soooo bad! I ended up having static in my hair so horrible that I tried everything! I google remedies and tried everything! I even rubbed dryer sheets in my hair! I used leave in conditioner, hot oil treatments you name it I tried it! if I would have had the money I would have gone to a salon but I didn't. it took almost 3 long embarrassing excruciating long months before I could begin to control my hair again. I have colored my hair in the past but I had always used Loreal's Preference but I thought from all the advertising on this product about all the wonderful oils in it and how nourishing it was for your hair that I would check it out. The Beautiful, vibrant red color that they offered on top of all the healthy oils clenched it for me! what a load of crap!!! it was the worst product I have EVER tried! I was afraid to try anything else until just recently. I learned of a gorgeous new Intense Red by Revlon's buttercream line. I tried it and love it too. So I guess I just hope that you can maybe get some referrals from friends or relatives before you try a new product?! Talk to people that have actually used it! Go to the salon if you can afford it! ALWAYS! YES ALWAYS!! XOXO😘

It’s still color, even though it’s in the box. What they do in a salon is the same shit they give you in the box just a lot cheaper. With colors like this they give you REAL bleach and REAL developer. As someone with a mother as a licensed cosmetologist she’s given me a lot of insight on box colors and the differences and honestly, why’re the same damn thing and do the same thing.

I don't think it's necessary darker, but the bleaching creme made it warmer and when you use bleach you kinda get a warmer/yellow tint even if you're a blonde before bleaching. What she needs to do if she wants a cooler tone again she needs to tone it after she bleached it, as they do at hairsalons :) Or maybe if she use silver schampoo as well, but I think a toner is the number one option. But that warm tone looked good on her actually!

I've never had a box lightner work it always comes out an orange gold color. No shade on Sylvia but I feel like this is a bullshit advertisement. Girls!! PLEASE don't bleach you hair at home. If you have any chance use Olaplex and go to a good salon, bc otherwise you are killing it! Believe me I've done it several times and I regret it so much, no I'm wearing extensions because they all broke off. So go to a professional or leave it natural, it looks 100x better than brattle, bleach blonde hair!!

J before bleaching you need to use a clearing shampoo to get rid of product buildup. Also treatments before and adding olaplex to the bleach itself. I've never used this bleach but I'd recommend going to Sally's. Going blonde is a delicate process you'll have to cut some length off when you're done. For now I'd recommend doing treatments and protein builders for 2-3 weeks before trying to bleach again

I always use Garnier because my hair feels healthier after dying. I love how it smells and most lightener dyes have an antibronzer(I know because my hair is blue the first 2 washes after and I never have overly brass tones). I am excited to try this soon.
