i’ve been watching your videos on ig since you started making them and at first i was a little skeptical about 4:30 but you’re seriously really good. gl this season.
Thanks for making these videos! It inspires me to run and be more like toy! I am also a distance runner but mot even close to as good as you! My 2400 Is like a 8 minutes and 44 seconds because we don’t have 2 mile
Thanks for sharing. Excited to see how your high-school career unfolds. Beyond athletics, keep God first and you'll stay grounded no matter what challenges come your way.
Very impressive time bro. I ran at a different state course and sadly screwed up I was on track to hit 10:40 pace but I ended up hitting 11:00m I’m in 7th grade btw
I'm currently a 9th grader and a couple months ago finished up my first year of cross country and went from a 39:41 to a 28:57 throughout the season in the 5k and since then have hit a 25:18 unofficially so I'm definitely looking forward towards improving and hopefully hitting a 23 minute time in the 5k by next season and looking forward to seeing your progression as well!
Your videos make me want to get back into running. I ran last year which was 8th grade but I was very mid (6:30 mile) so I lost consistency and didn’t run this year which was my freshman year but I’m getting back into it.
I'm currently an eighth grader and my best 3k race time this year was about 11:42, while my last two years of xc they were around 16-17 minutes, but i could still not even imagine running this fast for even 1 mile
Hey man I’m so glad someone else thinks that it’s better to be conservative in the beginning 😅. That’s always my goto but my coach always says I need to get out faster. I’m in 8th grade too btw, keep up the grind 💪
Middle and high school coaches are often misguided in that strategy. If you look at the times of elite runners, they always run negative splits (i.e. each mile is faster than the last). As long as you can pace yourself correctly (easier with the help of a watch), you'll be faster if you go out "conservatively".
What is the distance in your state bc in Scotland where i'm from its 3.2k for u13 4.4k for u15 (which i'm in) and 6.3k for U17 (btw i am a boy) and strava?
Stay committed throughout high school. Where I’m from there are a lot of sophomores from 15:30-45 for 5k With consistent training you can break 16 within your first two years of hs.
Holy cow dude that’s phenomenal. I’m in 8th grade as well and I’m kinda trash at cross country( 5:50 mile). What did you do to reach such a great time.
hey evan, i am a six grader with a 5:29 mile and curious like how do i get into a state meet? do i join a team near me then wait until its time for qualify for state or whay
ever since i was in year 2 i wanted to be a cross contry runner the frrst year (year3) i came 3rd the in zone i came 20th in year 4 i came 3rd in year5 i came 3 this year i came 3 and my assisa is this weak and im really neverous but i have been training for it
Excellent race! I ran 10:35 in the two mile when I was in 8th, and I had little to no competition in my league. So when state rolled around, I didn’t do the greatest and ran around low 11’s. Great strategy and awesome execution 👏
Evan I’m tryna be a running influencer like you as seen by my channel. Do you mind if I can have some tips for being a bigger running influencer and growing on RU-vid?
Yeah sure I subbed to your channel. Let me put you on a channel I watch. Search VidIq on RU-vid. They are a channel that gives tons of great RU-vid advice. I’ve had many different channels over the years and have had lots of practice and done tons of research so yeah watch them and just try to improve one thing every vid and stay consistent you got it man 👊
What is your mileage at rn. And what type of workouts. I'd try increasing your mileage slowly. I know you prob don't want to but run on your own on days you don't have practice. I'd try for 5-6 days a week. Make sure you are gettign the right workouts in too
I ran 10:42 and that put me in 14th place in 1A KY track state last year. I don’t know where your running that 10:30 is winning. 1st guy against me ran a 9:52.
Yo I find that insane, I am a freshman rn running 5:23 for the mile and for the 800 2:30. Also I ran XC, for the local course I ran a 20:19 as my PR but my fastest 5k was a 19:09 on the fastest course. I dont know if this course was flat and fast but damn. Thats fast.
@@Raphael_Runs im a 7th grader, 5'9, 134, can i have some tips for running? i run around a 7:30 minute mile and im tryna get fast and lean before 8th grade. goal mile time before 8th grade: 5:30 - 6:00
@@zoolz1 From my experience its all about how long you've been doing it and how disciplined you are. I dont know if you are running workouts rn considering you are in middle school. Another thing that helps though is during races always get a rough idea of your splits beforehand when running a race. But I can tell you one thing, when you get towards the end of your season you will get better times because progress is exponential. Also you will make more and better progress when you get into high school. Best of luck man!
Its probably like sub 11 to win state, our #1 guy on our high school team is FAR from breaking 9. Hes a junior and he has 9:22. Keeping dreaming, breaking 9 in 8th grade requires superior training and genetics.
