Alongside this I would say you could do the Istanbul Jennaseries, the Warsaw Hussars, the Glasgow Claymores, the Prague Kings, and the Swiss Guard. (some of those are older names but all pretty cool)
You did an awesome job with your logo names and renderings…let’s hope the NFL can either expand to some of these cities or create another European league. I know it’s coming, I’d just like to see it sooner rather than later. Nice work though.
@@sportsmanlikemisconduct Here are the next 6 teams you should add Athens Lighting: The most well-known Greek god is Zeus and he has a lighting bolt Rome Eagles: The national bird for the Roman Empire is the eagle. Amsterdam Comets: I don't have any ideas. Stockholm Whales: The Vikings were seafaring people and whales live in the sea...okay I don't have any ideas. Milan Mountaineers: This could be used for the Swiss or Austrian team but Milan is the 2nd largest city in a country with 60 million people. Budapest Turuls: The turul is the national animal of Hungary. North Division: Dublin London Paris Stockholm Frankfurt Amsterdam South Division: Athens Budapest Milan Rome Munich Rome
I’d make a few suggestions. Ireland, while a great country, may be to small to support an NFL franchise. It has only around 5 million people which is almost two million less than an already small market team like Tennessee, a better choice would be Amsterdam in the Netherlands which has a population of over 17 million. Frankfurt would also need a different name because while it sounds cool to us it would be incredibly confusing to frankfurter if they were playing the Philadelphia eagles. Something like raptors or hawks would have to do for languages sake.
I originally got into American Football (and the NFL) by going to NFL Europe games. Got tickets to see the Scottish Claymores at Hampden when I was 8 or 9. Sadly think they were dissolved a year or so after I went but I ended up getting into playing and now coaching here in Scotland down the line. Would love to see a revival of that team, still have a bunch of old merch, jerseys etc
That is amazing, I'm so happy American football is becoming so loved, I love everything about football besides concussions 😂. I played WR, QB, P. My dream is for Europe to get in on the action ❤ I want to see some international games
This seems like it could be a league of its own. If I can propose some city/team suggestions to round up to 12 or 16 teams: (All suggestions in English) -Amsterdam Giants (folklore) -Rome Warriors (historical) -Oslo Vikings (historical) -Stockholm Wolves (animal) -Helsinki Maulers (animal/symbolized by a bear) -Moscow Cosmos (modern history) -Athens Lightning (mythological) -Prague Golems (folklore) -Lisbon Mouros (mythological) -Baltic Aitvaras (mythological)
Most dont work because, as much as id like if american football is popular everywhere, its not. Nfl is only popular enough to support a team in ireland, spain, the uk, germany, switzerland, denmark and austria. Maybe poland and the netherlands if you push it hard France has rugby and they hate anything american so thats not happening Nobody cares about american football in italy or most of the countries you mentioned And with the current political climate, do you really think russians would be happy to hop on board with the most american sport ever? So as cool as this would be, its sadly not realistic
im saying this after the final city chosen was Paris. I do feel like some other cities would be better, possibly Manchester or Liverpool, since they have such huge sports crowds and could maybe sell. but thats just my opinion, I didnt do the research. love your vids so much!
Yeah I get ya. I tried to spread out the cities without using the same countries (except for Germany). Might have to consider those for a potential pt. 2👀 I’m glad you enjoy the videos. I appreciate that a lot ❤️
So your video is already out of date. The ELF actually announced its 18th team (the Madrid Bravos) who will start next year. But its a cool idea to see the NFL try and expand abroad again. I can only hope they just take the existing Dublin Rebels, franchise from the AFI but that's a pipe dream, the term rebel means more to actual Irish people than shamrocks or leprechauns since the 1916 rising occurred in Dublin. Also if you were to put a team in London you NEED to call them the London Redcoats and put them in the AFC. The instant rivalries will be spectacular. Also the Aviva is more commonly called Landsdowne based on the old stadiums name. Its a bit like how the Superdome has brand name deals but nobody really uses it. Also the city of london isnt the same as London. Most Londoners would see the dragon as a Welsh not English symbol. Okay that's all, sorry for the extra edits.
@@sportsmanlikemisconduct still an excellent idea. Tbh it may be better if the superbowl champs did a sort of exhibition game against the ELF and or CFL. At least then they could legitimately call themselves world champs lol
My cities: Barcelona Bulls - Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys Paris Peacocks- Parc de Princes Munich Ducks - Allianz Arena London Lions- Hotspur stadium Frankfurt Knights - Deutsche Bank Park Rome Legions- Stadio Olymipico Schedule: These teams play each other twice totaling for 10 games(5 away 5 home) The top two teams advance to the Championship game which rotates every six years. The inaugural season should have it hosted in London.
For the Munich team I would take the Olympiastadion Munich. It has a capacity of 77,337 and is currently unused. The Allianz Arena is the home of the soccer team FC Bayern München and there would be schedule conflicts. The Olympiastadion Munich als has more historical meaning to the city and the Mönche Munich would have their own stadium representing the coat of arms.
Here is my 16 teams East Division: Belfast Northstars, Liverpool Rockers,(music), Monaco Pistons Paris Paragons, Scotland Vikings, London Knights, Dublin Clippers, Milan Nighthawks(Owl) West Division: Berlin Mandarins(duck), Stockholm Nordics, Munich Brewers, Amsterdam Mariners, Frankfurt Hornets, Barcelona Brahmas, Madrid Galgos(greyhound), Rome Cardinals.
Cool video but there should definitely be more than 6 teams. On top of this, to make this actually work I feel like the best team from this league should play against the worst NFL team each year just to see how they match up. Would be cool if they added promotion/relegation if it got popular enough but obv that’s a long way out if that would ever happen
bc it's in Asia, it is a good destination tho. They coupd make an "Asia Division" Tokyo Ninjas Beijing Pandas Dubai Oilers Bollywood Elephants (from Bombay aka Mumbai, India)
I think 16 is way too many though 12 might work. Also of that list Moscow would not work (for obvious reasons) and neither would the Baltics (which are three separate countries). I would use the six that SM used and add five of yours and one of my own: 1) London 2) Dublin 3) Munich 4) Frankfurt 5) Paris 6) Helsinki 7) Amsterdam Windmills (might have to rethink this one because you don't want to reuse Giants) 8) Glasgow Cathures (my contribution) 9) Prague Golems 10) Stockholm Wolves 11) Oslo Arrows (my contribution as not to reuse Vikings) 12) Danish Kings (my contribution) A South division could be added later.
For Madrid, the Santiago Bernabeau is a better stadium choice, as it is actually getting the same setup as Tottenham. That means they have retractable fields and turf underneath the regular soccer pitch. A London team would most likely continue at Tottenham Spurs Stadium instead of Wembley due to smaller size and a turf field. Also, for those cities that had previous NFLE teams, going with the older name will make sense since they still have football teams that use those names.
