Bro I accidentally packed black tar heroin once, TSA was pissed. But I told them it was prolly just my uncle playing a prank on me and I offered them 100k for the trouble. We got it all sorted out
Last year, on my way back from Hawaii, inside the airport there were stations where staff would check for bugs, fruit etc.. and we walked up to the station, showed our passes and we’re promptly told “Wait, you’re going to Canada, never mind you’re not required for inspection” we then realized there’s no threat of invasive species of bugs here, it’s so cold everything just dies anyway lol
I don't believe that. But rules in Canada are different! You can transport any food (except liquids) from Morocco to Europe (European Community) without any problems by plane!
@@Emshii_ I don't believe that Canada allows you to enter stranger food because of the cold temperature. But I believe your story you told me of course :-)
Canada has the same rules, it was probably just that they don't care since you're LEAVING the US (well, Hawaii). Canada would check upon arrival for any food, but they don't have nearly as detailed of a setup, no dogs, etc
You had me dying laughing. Of course one dogs smells everything, and then theres the beagle. It only smells food. Notice the beagle also gets treats instead of a toy... ya, sounds about right.
@@billiamj737 The phrase was a joke...it refers to a recurring character on old Saturday Night Live episodes (A male stripper named Mango) played by Chris Kattan...
Let’s not forget the most dangerous food. A kinder egg surprise. Edit: To the people saying that it is there and they see it in the store everyday, it’s most likely kinder joy and not the surprise. The kinder joy is the one with the fudge and has the toy in one side of the egg and the fudge in the other.
Tbh not naturally if it's specific and needs training for it to recognize certain stuff. Do you want a toy as your reward for your work too? Also you can absolutely get paid for the stuff you are "naturally" good at as a human, you can be a marathon runner or whatever. You can also eat for a job. Or sleep. Of course there's always a catch and it is actually hard work. It's not that easy, not for you, not for these dogs
Oh I get one- you can be the guy screening on the baggage xray machine at the airport. Humans are "naturally" good qt seeing and pattern recognition. Sounds like an easy job for ya?
spindlerjohn not just fruit, I mean there is some nice food outside the US. For example, I had a full leg of Iberian ham de bellota moved into the US through dubious means. The stuff is amazing, well worth the commission I was charged.
I once got detained and held for 3 hours missing my flight. For having too large a tube of toothpaste. I got asked so many questions and they took away my toothpaste.
Toothpastes are very dangerous. They steal jobs from our dentists, decimating the economy and healthcare. Some say just one the size of 3.14 football fields per cheeseburger with no mayo could wipe a whole mega city like Jackson Hole. 9/12 is not a thing only because some random underpayed TSA employee needed to wash his teeth and saw some free paste on an x-ray.

It’s a biohazard risk. Certain countries have a very specific environment and other foods or seeds or animal material can destroy the natural environment by insects or illnesses that can be harmful to plants and to humans. This is really serious.
That's actually still allowed, so long as it's hard cheese and vacuum sealed (although if it's the whole wheel, maybe this isn't even necessary?). I bring back Dutch Gouda every year :)
There should be some sort of charity organization located at or near the airport for the homeless/ppl in need. Perhaps something like a soup kitchen to make the food right there so they won't contaminate the country's agricultural industry.
Nobody: Suitcase with food in it : Biscuit: im bouta end this whole mans career Didn’t think I’d get this many likes pls subscribe so I can show my dog 😔
@@hemanthchukku well, if you type Ginger Perone ( it's on her name tag ) on Google you can find one that lives in NY...so.... I think is her real name....
Yeah it is a lot of food being wasted here, I do wonder if it's recycled as compost or something, idk. But this is important because the bugs that could potentially be in those fruits and vegetables could cause so much more food loss than here. Take the examples from the video. But yeah it's a lot of food waste, very sad.
A very interesting and well presented report on the subject, I wouldn’t mind spending a day there accompanying the officers to see it in real life. Look forward to the next report. Thank you
😂I don’t see a problem in wasting food. As long as it’s a food that you can have unlimited of. You can just grow these fruits again. So it’s not really a waste of food
The chance of letting in deadly invasive species outweighs wasting the food, many of the those bugs like the asian citrus beetle which was introduced cost orchards over a billion dollars in florida, that wasted more food than this airport is, and some other invasive species could kill more people than starvation would.
Imagine being a bug tho. You have been stolen with your nice juicy mango house, taken through super cold high altitudes, landed at some foreign place, and then you get incinerated for *existing*.
If they’re just going to give it away then what would be the point of taking it from the people who paid for it???? Also it’s not the airports job to feed the homeless
@@rishabhadarsh5227 The whole reason why they’re taking it is to keep it from getting into the US. Do you expect them to transport all that food to a different country?
@@Aaronn-je8cx Melons are a specialty in Japanese culture, it's often given as a gift. Rather than in America, when you buy people maybe a phone. This will cause people to buy expensive fruits (mainly melons) as a gift for their boyfriends, girlfriends, family, ect.
Imagine, “oh look at all this food from (country), lets donate it to an orphanage!” “Oh no, the orphans are now sick, since the food contained a bacteria and/or insects” You can never know for sure if a food is safe for consumption.
I feel bad for the people who just want to eat fruits or other simple foods after they get off the flight but cant cause the food got taken or something
I get so scared when they inspect my luggage even tho i dont have anything illegal. I remember one time when i was a kid i was carrying my DS in my bag and when the officer found it i was so scared that i said “it just my ds its not a bomb please dont take it” and the officer laughed and said “calm down, your aren’t in trouble son”😂😂

Actually it’s really not I’m from Africa ( I don’t live there my family is from there) and I’m in Africa rn and actually most of living spaces are mansions because literally 5 dollars in American money Is 2,919 CFA’s there so yea but my family lives in West Africa so I don’t know about the rest of Africa
There are poor people in America and in each country in this world. They only show the poor side of Africa not everyone is poor just like America or other countries in the world. I'm from Africa and I don't see any of that stuff they show on the news. Stay woke!
There's been two new invasive insects southeast of LA in the Inland Empire region. The first one showed up a few years ago, little long lime green flies. The city sprays all of our properties twice a year now to deal with them, and our ancient, first grandfather orange tree has to be in a curtain net forever now. So, thanks to whoever let these things into the country and nearly killed our 140 year old orange tree.
It's not just bugs but microorganism and the fruit (plant) itself can be an invasive species. Other plants are always competing against one another just like animals in the wild. So, some could potentially harm the agriculture in america. Take for example the tumbleweed, it's not a fruit but a very invasive amd troubling plant that costs million of damages every year. They grow every season in lots of amount, increasing at a very exponential rate. Then, those seeds get sent via the wind causing them to be clumped together and blocks traffic. It's highly flammable, so it causes wild fire to happen easily and absorb nutrients from soil real quickly damaging american agriculture. And to top it all off, they aren't even a native plant in the US. They came from outside of the US.
@@sarahsadek4400 I’m not trying to be dismissive of other people’s experiences. Heck, I even had family send me some food from the USA while I was living abroad… but perishable goods in my luggage during international travel? When there’s such a high risk of it being confiscated (and for good reason), it’s a little beyond me.
My island experienced something called the banana blight. In a year, every banana tree had been decimated, fallen over, rotted into mulch. It took years to grow back. Yes bugs, a fungus or diseased fruit can result in devastation.
I find it really hard to believe that people try to bring this much food into the country. You can't even bring a sealed bottle of water, but sure the plant cuttings, fruit and veggies are no problem! 🙄
