I visit the UK from Canada, at the UK Air Port I am always asked by Passport control what is the purpose of my visit, how long will I be staying, do I have an address to go too in the UK, do I have sufficient means to support myself whilst staying in the UK, do I have the correct ID, Passport. But these illegal people just walk right in no questions asked and all for free. I must be doing something wrong.

I cannot imagine anyone in the UK condoning this state of affairs. UK owes these individuals absolutely nothing. No other country does this, indeed all other countries deeply criticize the UK for being so stupid, and the UK government are obviously too pig-headed to admit that they are making a mistake. There is NO international legislation that applies specifically to the UK, forcing the latter to accept willy-nilly these "persona non grata" . Worse, this is a HUGE insult to bona fide migrants of whatever origin who take pains to fulfil all the necessary administrative requirements to enter the country while this lot just "sail in" unannounced. Who is paying for the salaries of the welcomers ? Who is paying for the gasoline to fill the coach ? All countries have immigration procedures but believe me, none proceed like this. France's response to this is rightly lukewarm because Britain is seen to be affording too many rights to people who logically and internationally have no rights at all, given the methods the use to enter the country.
