I think we underestimate the lengths that activists are prepared to go in order to pursue their sick agenda. These people are well funded and, whilst they claim compassion, they have none.
I really hope she's right and the burden of proof is being shifted to the "affirmative care" side of the debate. Pseudoscience cannot survive when open and rigorous debate is allowed to happen. The freedom to debate in the public square (no matter how "offended" and "unsafe" the crybullies feel) is the only thing that can save democracies from turning into theocracies.

We really need ppl to confront these types of stories. When they claim that the suffering is due to a transphobic society instead of realizing that this ideology is enabling predators to take advantage of vulnerable kids. Utterly horrifying and heartbreaking in equal measure.

We seem to understand that Hustler and Playboy have certain guardrails. I am certainly less concerned with this as a legal and civil issue. The POINT here is going after the institutions and holding those in the leadership positions legally accountable as well as the gender affirming care practitioners is the essential direction (i.e., AAP) . According to Dr James Cantor (and Steven Levine) AAP is not practicing evidence based medicine. Dr Julia Mason has certainly documented how the AAP has thwarted efforts to review their gender affirming care position. AAP is less interested in members and more interested in causes and the funding this brings in, especially from big pharma and the medical industry. Finally there are personal injury lawyers and malpractice providers going after the AAP: its about time Campbell Miller Payne PLLC !!!

This includes going after the "not-so" professional bodies that have lost their way regarding what is evidence based care and the oath to "do no harm". I am not advocating for them - it is simply nice to see the autonomy these bodies have enjoyed doesnt mean there is no accountability when it comes to how WPATH, Endocrine Society, the AAP and their associated journals operate . Regarding BOOKs: I think you nailed it - banning books becomes a game of wack-a-mole. The better approach is to avoid becoming reliant on a committee booking banning process or simply waiting for parent/community objections. Administrators and Librarians should be provided explicit criteria at a state level regarding what is age and developmentally appropriate in terms of the "context and content" for books. Fail to live up this and there are consequences. This same approach applies to school facilitated instruction and experiences as well. There is a curriculum and the social change agents should be restrained from injecting their own well hidden agendas. Sadly we can not longer rely on the judgement of experts given the judgement is clouded, Hence we really do have to be explicit in terms of what is age appropriate sexual content as well as what is suitable social studies. For some states this means legislation. I actually think the legislation needs to spell out the implication of non-compliance (be it negligence or simply disregard). Hence, as an example: Up to Grade 3 students are not to be provided access to books or other media or instruction with content (including text/imagery) outlining: 1. fellatio and techniques. 2. bestiality 3. XXX. This is pretty straightforward and really should be unnecessary but it seems some adults in positions of leadership have diminished capacity. This is content that should be banned right across the board for ANY public education institution but perhaps we need to accommodate Californication and other states that are oblivious to grooming children and seem focused on sexuality, gender identify and sexual orientation in early elementary school.

And religion/christianity should never be an arguement anywhere. It's not about "moral superiority", it's about reality. Except where she specifically said it wasn't that. I understand it to be the vast majority of ppl versus the extremist TRA cultists. We need the general public to unite against this and one of the keys for me is ppl don't want to get involved and don't want to confront the reality of the consequences of this ideology. To me it also seems to be an attack on parents by ppl who aren't parents themselves and really dislike the role of parents (probably because it clashes with the ideology and also because they desperately need kids to be trans to keep the lies going)
