I am the first to comment! And, I think Mia Hughes is a fierce intellect and gifted communicator. I hope she continues to appear on podcasts and creates her own podcast to keep us all learning.

Gender dysphoria is a first world issue. I haven't heard of it being a problem in countries where they can't afford it.

My daughter, gay and autistic, found herself questioning her identity within the idea of ‘trans’ for a while during lockdown. Ive always been so proud of her capacity for being her own person and it still makes me angry that the current status quo is for her to be tempted to change who she is under a corrupted banner of self discovery. How dare they deny our children their own selves.

Thanks for your work , ladies . To Stella the WPATH scandal may end this substantially if it causes insurance companies to stop paying for it ; and if detransitioners start suing doctors for malpractice.

My husband was 5’4” at 18 when he graduated high school. Four years later, he was 6’. So when my youngest son was very short for his age at 16 and very very young looking was offered growth hormones, I turned them down. Thankfully we home educated so he was never bullied for his size (unlike my husband.) My son now at 25 is 5’ 10” and a competitive natural bodybuilder. Everybody grows at their own rate.

Any victims of this medical scandal, please don't give up hope, and use your energy (anger, sadness, whatever) to find help for yourself, and courage to speak up and help put the brakes on for all those now being influenced. Your voice is incredibly valuable. And know all these good people are rooting for you and desperately sorry and angry you were hurt. Any perpetrators, enablers or silent witnesses, also find courage to speak out. There is only the choice now of how long to put off making your peace with the world, or never doing so. Early, you might just retain a faint aroma of innocence, even "whistleblower"; later on, you'll attain a much less pleasant odour.

The only thing I care about is the surgery, they’re horrific. Having a wound that’s always trying to close, or the other one where they’re cutting a piece out of your arm to make this horrendous looking thing should all be banned.

Surely this is criminal? People should be losing their careers and facing prosecution? As with the COVID 19 jab scandal also unfolding now, I remain to be convinced any of those involved will face justice, even when the press has to admit to what's happening.

Just to say thank you, you great (clever and compassionate) people! For helping us understand wtf has been going on... I still struggle with it, as someone who had a favourite cousin who transed back in the 70s and I was always supportive, which kind of set the pattern for me. Still horribly confused (by eg the exponential increase in FtM transing), but it helps to listen to people who are science-based. Thanks again. x

I can't see the lawsuits getting any traction based on abortion case precedent. The clinics can use vague, non-informative "informed consent" and get away with it because it is presumed that the patient requested what the patient got. In the case of an abortion, that's a dead fetus and the clinic has zero responsibility to tell the woman that "retained tissue" that she might expel might include a mangled little face staring up at her with dead eyes. In the case of transitioning, the facility is going to have zero responsibility to tell the patient that halting the normal maturation of their sexual organs can result in sterility. The abortion patient paid to have the fetus destroyed, and it was destroyed and she has no grounds for complaint.
