Intercoolers with a turbo are a must. Have previously owned protuned turbo car the bigger the intercooler the less chance of back pressure and ultimately lower chance of heat soak. Good purchase to me.
I have a 03 Ford 7.3, I had my CAC boots fail, because of too much oil and gunk. I re routed the PCV, and dropped in the Banks 6.0 intercooler. Because I have a ZF-6, it was a super easy drop in, lost about 200° from the upper EGT. How much was from not having all that gunk clogging up the Cooler? Dunno. Better truck for sure.
Can't believe you forgot PPE intercoolers. That's what I put in my lb7 and my buddies lb7 and lbz and for high horse power trucks they are keeping up pretty damn well. I won't disagree though banks does make some good shit, just stuck with PPE since over half my truck was built with their products
I am in the middle of doing a intercooler swap on my obs 1995 Ford F-350. Only thing I need to do to it is build the pipes. It’s pretty easy honestly with the Obs solution kit
I also have the banks intercooler. If your EGTs went up, something is very wrong. What did banks say when you told them about that? You did call them right?
