I'm working on mental health and taking better care of my physical health. Lots of water. Setting boundaries! You are doing great. Being aware is one of the first steps.
For drainage try teaspoon of salt and tablespoon of apple cider vinegar added to a warm cup of water, gargle that twice a day and that will cut the drainage and will soothe your scratie throat.
You can eat healthy organic for less than I think you aiming for, there are a lot of things that are just as good that are canned or frozen, Especially since you are able to cook things you can travel with. ( I work a freelance job and drive all over my state- I mostly don't eat out because of my allergies) My grocery budget for this week is $30- this of course is the fresh things that I added to what I already have on hand. I have a lot of allergies I cannot purchase very many packaged things unless they are single ingredient. I understand especially if you're in New York that you're going to have a markup that I don't have in the Midwest I think you can reasonably cut down you're $1,000 to$750 and still have a lot of variety and things you enjoy eating. I think you might first need to do more extensive meal plan come up with kind of a foundational list of things I want to eat every week or every series of trips and then with that proportion and prepackage as much of that as possible. I would spend one afternoon cooking up a month's worth of breakfasts and freezing them in reusable containers with the idea that they would thaw as I traveled . Things that can be heated up but do fine at room temperature. Example: frozen organic peas and canned low sodium black beans. My meal plan has a serving of something like that as a combination for fiber and green things. I also happen to like them just plain- if you're a hot sauce person or an oil and vinegar person they can inexpensively be flavored that way. For a week's worth of servings assume you're only going to want it once a day, that's like 4 bucks. For me that doesn't count as the main protein of a meal. I try to buy Planet friendly packaging and all of the things. So that is my encouragement to you, I think you can do healthy and vegan and still reduce the costs more than your aiming for at this point.
I think I was about your age when I did the same thing. I had a goal to buy a house and needed to save a down payment. I saved a ton of money (1500 a year?) quitting Starbucks and just making instant coffee and tea in a mug. I stopped shopping at Whole Foods and Gelsons and started buying bulk on sale and cooking all my own meals. I stopped buying new clothes. I bought that house and 7 years later sold it at a large profit and am now starting a new dream on land off-grid. You can do this! I think what is challenging for you is that your lifestyle makes it hard to cook. It's waaay cheaper to make your own sauce and chili etc. but cooking healthy on the road in a hotel and in a van is super challenging. You can do it! Keep tracking everything and it will become clearer to you how you will make it happen. Good luck!!
After watching, now I have a goal to work on this year: be gentler on myself. Thanks for that one. Loving the new content! Seeing where all the learning and new ideas are taking you.
You are absolutely correct in not beating yourself up over food, dining out, and Uber eats. You travel so much and can’t carry all your food! Just figure out what you can reasonably do, and don’t beat yourself up!! I’m also doing a no-buy year to buy a home.Im single and have spent $533.27 on food so far, and I don’t travel. Quality food nowadays is ridiculously expensive.
I'm working on loving myself more. Not sounding selfish, but I am always putting myself last and I am trying with baby steps to move up in the line ( from being in the back of the "line") without changing who I am and not feel selfish while doing it. 💛
Expecting to not spend money on anything isn’t realistic or easy. Pick things you will not buy, like clothes, hard cover books, door dash > $x, top shelf cocktails. You can do it! Do you have clothes you can sell on consignment?
Thanks for another great video Samantha!! My goal for this year is to push my comfort zone when it comes to building romantic connections, read 15 books, and graduate college !
Not quite a no spend year but really trying to stay away from unnecessary target trips and focusing on getting through things in my pantry/freezer before I start grocery shopping again 😅 I have a bad habit of stocking up when I don’t need to.
Hello Samantha I am also working on a financial budget, it is not easy, I get you with groceries girl hang in there. My advice is take out a certain amount For savings first.
You gave me an idea to journal my food… I have so much food in my cabinets that I really don’t know what I have… I need to know what I have in order to make my meals. Put out any video… And keep saying “no purchase year” 🎉 😁 we live in such an easy to buy world… I myself forget to really consider my purchases. (and I took the Dave Ramsey class and got myself out of debt, and it was the best thing I ever did!!!!! But we all need reminders ❤ you are keeping me motivated!!! I’ve never really journal anything else. Partly because I’m lazy… Partly because I wouldn’t want anybody to find what I wrote…😂 But I think you mentioned to something about keeping an expense journal… That sounds interesting… I’ll have to go back and watch that partier video You are a hoot young lady! Just keep putting out those videos… You make us all laugh… You keep us entertained and inspired! And hopefully you are earning big bucks 💰💵💰 🤣 on RU-vid every time you put out a video! God bless you!!! Keep on doing you!!! 👑👠👛
Hi there! Been putting away $ for some traveling this year. putting money aside since last year. So far so good. Budgeting can at times be challenging for me. I just move on and do better next time. So, it all works out in the end. You’re doing great! It’s nice to know we are all in this together.
January is a learning tool, gives you an idea and like you said.. looking at your accountability you'll get an idea for the months to come. Plus add in the seasons the food cost will fluctuate. Cold season.. more comfort food opposed to spring, summer eating lighter 😊 you got this! Have faith in you 🩷😊
I'm excited for you about your new financial goals! They say it takes about 3 months to figure out a budget that works. It's great that you are looking at it as a learning period rather than a "failure" because there definitely is a learning curve when you first start. Keep up the great work. I can't wait to watch your progress through the year. You got this!
Also, look into "First time home buyers Grants", in the area that you are going to buy your home. It would be by the County its in. Most people dont know that they have "Grants", that are free money, that you can get from the Government for your First time home buying.
You have inspired me to journal the money I spend outside of my bills. I am committing to watching my spending with the goal of no purchase 2024, saying that I don’t want to have guilt if I am not perfect at it because my other goal is to monitor and be mindful of my self talk and to keep it positive!
Grant: You usually have to go and take classes( 4 consecutive classes),free classes, to qualify. Where I live, our Grant, was 14,999 when we bought our home. This is money you do not have to pay back. It helps with down payment and closing costs.
Samantha, your awareness is growing daily and it's very cool to watch! Last year I started and will continue this year to really make sure to achieve as closely as possible to zero waste of my food expenditure. This can be really eye opening and just maximizes that food budget number that is, as you discussed, vastly different for each individual. You're on the road and it's going to change your life in any direction you choose. Cheers!
Good for you tracking and learning. Celebrate progress. Give yourself some grace, and enjoy the journey. Your travel job has its own challenges, so you’ll figure it out. ✌️❤️💵.
You’re an inspiration! Great insights on money and finance. I love the idea of manifestation. This is definitely going to be a year of saving! It’s definitely made me re-evaluate my spending. Thanks for posting this! Have a great week!
Something you could do, is ask yourself in the moment, when ever your looking to buy "something", "DO I REALLY NEED THIS", most of the time you will find you don't really need that purchase!! Something I started asking myself everytime I wanted something. Good luck😁🥰
Oooo you should write a note or record every time you want to buy something and then at the end of the year add up the dollar amount to see what you would have spent but didn’t!
Eating out (especially with Antonia) I think is mentally healthy!! She’s your best friend and you guys don’t get to spend a lot of time together… Once you get your house, you’ll be able to invite her over for dinners and drinks… You can worry about savings, some pennies, then… Until that happens. Sharing drinks, talks, and breaking bread is essential to your relationship and mental peace. My goal for this year is to read more, give up gluten, eat more raw vegetables, and you have inspired me to spend less so I can get to my financial goal faster… I want to buy a newer RV and travel and find where I want to live for the rest of my life. having a van or something easier to travel in will help me find the location I want to live in I don’t have any family. So I have the freedom to travel and figure out where I want to spend the rest of my years ❤❤
Be kind to yourself as you acclimatize to your new plan. Tracking your spending in itself is a great accomplishment and will help you get off to a good start. One thing that helps me is to think of buying food as a “no waste” plan, so that I only buy what I think we will use or store in a week. Especially with perishables. My goal is to never throw food away, which is hard but over time it gets easier. It may be challenging with your work schedule but sometimes we have a fend for yourself week here where everyone uses only what’s in the house for meals without buying anything. It encourages us to be creative and to not always follow recipes exactly to the letter. Once we are finished the week, we treat ourselves to a nice vegan meal out. All the best 💕
I am doing a no spend year but I have rules as to what is an absolute no and what is a yes. Yes includes eating out once a week. You are doing great. Forget the haters! They are not here for you 💓💓💓
You are doing the right things. Just being aware of what your spending $$$ on & recording it is s great plan. Girl don't deny yourself good food . You are a person that needs great nutrition ti stay healthy and vital. You do you but keeping track will help you to remember & learn from what works for you. Have a blessed week my beautiful friend. 💖🌟
Spend money on your Van, build a new one, on lithium battries, practice staying offgrid, times ahead are not good. Stick to your job, do more on your job yhan its required. Save, invest, save,invsst.....invest on your body, invest on your skills, invest on your soul...and always look for man who is god fearing, honest, hardworking and chearful even if he is ugly and earns less. All the best samantha🙏🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍👍
I working towards moving back to Australia where I’m from, I’m currently in London Uk, I’ve been married for 11 years to an English guy but I wasn’t happy so I’m getting divorced. So yes I’m having to budget , I’ve got things I need to pay off and things to save for. Currently I achieved my goal of renewing my Australian passport because it was expired ✅, Our paperwork for the divorce is started and paid for ✅ , I need to get a new suitcase, I need to pay off my store card from work as I work in clothing store that has an online website where they sell not only our brand but other brands as well, so I also was spending way to much on clothing. I’m making a lot of progress on paying that off and lastly saving up for my plane ticket home which I’ve put some money towards already. Good luck Sam, it’s definitely not been easy to budget but I’m definitely making progress ❤❤
I think U can do this . I have faith in U . U have to just put mind into it . U Got This . Ive watch U grow so much . I only wish U the best . Dont strave yourself to save please. Its so damn expensive to buy food anymore. 😩 But buy food instead of clothes. Im sure u have alot of clothes. I Love U Our Beautiful Gorgeous Samantha. God Bless You. Safe Travels Always. Mucho Love from your friend in Michigan Tam ps. Its 🥶 cold as fuck here in Michigan and snowy 🌨 to im sick of the cold n need some sunshine 🌞..lol
Last year I was determined to not put anything on credit. If I can’t pay cash, then I don’t buy it. Saving for my dream….Crush blue new Toyota Tacoma 💙and I’m going to girlie it up with leopard print items inside. I bought my house at age 29. Didn’t think it was possible but a friend encouraged me and I’ve never regretted it! However, I have learned that every homeowner needs a truck. Over the years, I have spent lots of money hiring people to pick up furniture, garden stones, etc. and decided I need a truck. So…..that’s what I’m saving for 🤗
Great video ❤. I'm also focusing on budgeting and investing this year. I'm doing the 50/30/20 budget and cash envelope budgeting. As far as your no clothes buying challenge - try "falling in love" with the wardrobe you have. I know your lifestyle right now is nomadic and transitional, but maybe try taking a full inventory then some rearranging to store/display your most beautiful/most loved pieces in a way that showcases them. 🤷🏻♀️
Maybe think of your eating out as an entertainment expense for fun things to do instead of being part of your food budget. Of course, you will need to come up with an entertainment line item in your budget. If you don't have fun, it will be hard to stay true to your plan. Moderation in anything is key. Good luck!
I’m 61 so take that for what you will. Long story short, I took control of our finances, created a 5 year plan and got us out of debt & established savings. A major mistake I think is to pay interest on nontangibles. So since I assume you must use credit card for food when you travel, I suggest you pay off each month. You are then paying the true amount you spent. Also, to me life is about memories. Socializing with friends is worth the money.
You should add a spoonful of Apple cider vinegar and 3....4 drops of oregano oil in your lemon water. Will discourage any sickness to mess with you! ✌️💙
I enjoy You being transparent, honest and realistic, especially for Your Lifestyle. I am going to try to take care of My Health and Selfcare for “2024”. Take Care from Ontario Canada 🇨🇦
Shout out to me :) I wondered how you would reach your goals, but stopped watching before you got there. You said later how you would get there. Good luck! Good for you on tracking your spending and not spending what you don't need to.
I think you must learn how to spend less money, this is the case for me. It takes a few weeks. Also I try not to eat so much food if I go out. Probably an idea for you. I have to pay renovation for my apartment this year, my resolution is to stay in my budget I made for this year. Greetings from Munich to you Samantha and everyone reading this.
I don't think you failed just because you ate out. Food is essential and it brings you joy so it's ok to indulge in it I feel. I watched the full video and the thing I'm working on for this year is growing my RU-vid channel by being more consistent and disciplined with making content hopefully 😅
spend my first moments of the day with Jesus... nothing compares to that for me.. i cannot breathe without Him. makes my days so much better and makes me mindful of my thoughts, and actions and keeping or trying to keep aligned with His word. i need to add gratittude..safe travels..
I made it thru the whole video and im trying to budget my spending .. my clothes etc... i need none but i still buy lol so thats what im doin this year .. cutting back on buying clothing n shoe's. Lord Help Me 😂😂😂
Your starting off a little late but your starting. The learning starts today. It's a long journey and persistent journey to save, save, save. An easy start I started with was to save at least 10% of every paycheck. continue until it grows to the point where you can start small investments. Believe me, you will never miss the 10% because your living style will adapt. Best wishes and Good Luck on your journey. Oh start cutting out $5 Starbucks! :=)
Don’t listen to the haters do what comes to your heart and your head you can accomplish some very awesome stuff when you put your heart and head to it 😊😊😊❤❤ ok 👌🏼🔥🤠🔥Camping Russ out PS shot of tequila really helps to kill the cold. Plus I haven’t been sick in about 10 years so good luck. 😊lol😂
With all that you do for healthy living, maybe some of these type of supplements , and certain foods you may think are organic hedlthy can in reality , deplete your body of hedlthy ba yetis
@@SamanthaROlmsted I understand..just wishing to help with the budgeting process in that our thoughts/ affirmations effect our behavior.. ..so let’s change that to: ..”less is more!”
Literally not buying clothes for an entire year is probably the easiest thing that you can do. You don't need to buy new clothes if you have everything you need, food on the other hand
Don't pay attention to viewers that attack you for still spending some money or for having spent that much money on groceries so far. Many people fail within the first month or two of doing their new years resolutions or goals cuz either it was too far fetched and needed some smaller goals or resolutions first, or they failed because they become very hard on themselves. We're all human beings and as humans we are going to fail, but it would be like riding a bike or learning to walk. We gotta be kind to ourselves and just get back up again and try, try again. Cut ourselves a little break, gives ourselves a little pep talk, and then try again. Oh, my goal became finding ways to cope with trauma and my therapist is helping me with it.
