Hi Jo, I only found you recently and find you such a blessing in your words which comfort and help me navigate where to from here. You have been really helpful in this process for me which is only recent. Thank you for taking the time to assist people in grief. It is a topic I find very hard to get support for where I am, so your videos mean so much to me.
I managed a thriving garden briefly and now I'm trying to manage it and prevent scorching. I was rushed to move so my siblings could sell the family house. I found a job that fit my experience and needs. My car died. I'm still waiting on money from sale of the house and can't get a car without it. Lost my ride to and from work after a month. That help lasted longer than I expected. 60 day review at work is this week and I don't know if this is where I belong. Worried that everything is about to collapse.
This was pretty helpful. One year after the loss I wish so often to just leave my grief behind, to be "normal" again. Society seems to be expecting the same. Your videos show that grief is no enemy and that it deserves to be accepted and to be taken care of. Today has unexpectedly been a pretty hard day for me, but I'm trying to be kind to myself.
First anniversary of my loss is 31 March. This year that day is Easter Sunday! I don’t want it to be a day that stands out like this and the irony of it, too…Thank you for your video today, for sharing your guidance and understanding. I will never have this loved one again; I will never have this relationship again. I was unprepared for the death of self.
Hi Jo~ I’ve decided in these last couple weeks I needed to think about redecorating my master bedroom ~ The 1st year anniversary of my loving husband passing is coming ~ April 5th~ It’s the hardest feeling to come to our room and not see him~ So my “Gardening “ will start with a new Daybed ~ Changing the area in here will help me look at this space a bit differently ~ I think it’s a path I want to take towards relief of that huge breath I take from time to time~
I’ve just read an article on NPR: “Grief Made Me Loose My Balance. Here’s How I Learned To Walk Forward Again.” And I have also experienced a loss of balance. I wouldn’t have connected it to grief if not for reading about it. I hope it’s ok to share this here. It’s a coincidence that I found this article. Thank you for your gentle and caring video.❤
Jo this video was encouraging. Can you please talk about healing from a relative being murdered even when the police don't want to investigate who murdered them. I am having a hard time with this. I was adopted but abused by my adopted parents. My birth father who i was trying to get to know was the one that was murdered.😅😢
Your videos help me navigate my grief so much. I would like to see a video on how to deal with people who make passes on us while we are grieving. I and people in my group are dealing with folks thinking that they can start a romantic relationship. It's very annoying.
This is SUCH an issue.... I call them Grief Predators.😠 I makes me crazy how common this is... I will make a short video about this in early May... Stay tuned.
