It's actually an already known technology, invented by the company I work in (Valeo Lighting Systems), which made these specific tail lights, as well as some other "3D effect" tail lights, for Land Rover for example.
@Lassi Kinnunen Parts, Service and repair costs for an 2010 Mercedes is much more expensive - Trust me, i sale Automotive parts and work in Car Service. Citroen Diesel Engines are one of the most reliable (except 2.7 V6, witch was a Ford engine)
@@stevenw973 condensation happens not only when humidity varies depending on weather conditions (rain or not) but also with atmospheric pressure and temperature changes throughout the day added to the heat generated by electronic components in a sealed enclosure. I have had an IP65 electronic box filled with condensation water even though it was completely sealed. You need to have valves to allow hot air to go out in order to avoid condensation. The air you trap when you seal the case has a certain amount of humidity and depending on the temperature, this water will change state from vapor to water and even ice.
This is an insane amount of effort no "normal" person would copy on their own! You must be a dedicated car appearance fanatic to dedicate this level of time, effort and imagination to achieving a single illuminated effect!
Beautiful work ! I love the C5, especially with hydropneumatic suspension. Would enjoy seeing your lights installed on the C5. Thank you for sharing your hard work.
These tail lights look fantastic! I love how you integrated the double mirror effect for them. Awesome job! A sequential turn signal would be great on them, but they look great with the static one too.
EXCELLENT VIDEO!!!! I missed the last few you posted (but I caught up quickly) but as always thank you for sharing your talent and the great tutorial and parts used!!!!! I have said it once and I will keep saying it....you are like a surgeon with that Dremel attachment! I have seen these taillights and I was always curious how they were made, and you came through with the cutting edge tutorial thank you!
oh yeah, probably should put a tl:dr here: Not really a problem as long as you find a way to incorporate a red reflector or mount one elsewhere on the back of the vehicle. well, lets see i guess: StVZO §53: Schlussleuchten, Bremsleuchten, Rückstrahler (Tail lights, Brake lights, Reflectors) (1) The lowest point of the illuminated area must be higher than 350mm off the ground and the highest point cant be higher than 1.500 mm. - Since we arent changing the position or shape of the lights, this one is irellevant (2) Vehicles and their trailers must be equipped with two sufficiently bright brake lights at the back that activate upon using the brakes. Brake lights have to be brighter than the normal tail lights. - Its difficult to tell in the footage at the end imo, but the tail lights should probably be a bit dimmer to be on the save side, other than that or if the person doing the inspection is chill, shouldnt be too much of a bother (3) removed -... (4) Vehicles must be equipped with red reflectors at the right and left side. The outmost edge of the reflective surface must not be further than 400 mm from the edge of the vehicle and their highest point must not be higher than 900 mm off the road. - Biggest problem right here. Correct me if im wrong but i didnt see any reflectors on this build, so it would either have to be altered or reflectors would have to be mounted somewhere else on the back of the vehicle. Unless you can find a black reflector that still shines a red light back, this would be tricky to implement without ruining the look. (5) mandatory Tail- and brake lights as well as reflectors must be mounted at the outmost back edge of the vehicle - cool? again, we arent changing the position of the lights, so nobody cares. (6) 1 and 2 do not count for propulsion or industrial vehicles with a single axle - not sure how to translate that, but it doesnt matter either way since we are talking about a normal car with two axles (7) deviations from 4, sentence 2 are only allowed on farming or forestry vehicles that purely drive behind other vehicles - once again, irellevant for us here (8) vehicles being towed must have tail, braking and indicators activated - not sure how this is even supposed to work but it doesnt matter for us here since we dont loose any functionality of the original lights. (9) tail lights, braking lights and reflectors cannot be mounted on movable vehicle parts. exceptions are made if the mounted light is in addition to a sufficient fixture on the main body of the vehicle - say it with me now: irellevant (10) My god thats a lot of jargain .... ummm ... vehicles of the classes M2, M3, O2, N2, N3, O3, O4 (trucks, transporters and other long vehicles) are required to have yellow or white lights scattered along the left and right side of the vehicle - nobody cares

@@fenchellforelle Not right. The parts changed their kind of lighting. The colours, brightness, angles etc. are approved by the (E) symbol (by ECE) in the range it was produced. If u change something inside it's not any more the (E) what it was approved for. It's like getting number plates of an new Golf and put in on the rusty MK1 in really bad condition and expecting that it is allowed and you are still insured :D
@THEMenelouss what country would that be exactly. I replaced my brake lights with custom digital screens and have had no problems at all. As long as u have red amber and white turn on when they r suppose to u r good.
@THEMenelouss damn dude that sucks over here its way different as long as the light is visible within 500ft you are good and we have no headlamp restrictions over here. My lights are so bright i can see for a mile lol
@THEMenelouss person who runs into you has to know that thees lights have no homologation. Who sais that they arent aftermarket lights with homologation? For TÜV you use original rear light, After TÜV reuse theese If you end up in crash, Use original lights if inspetion comes in. And.... you can print all kinds of marks on lights if you want.
once again i have to commend you on your work. this must take hours and hours. lots of which seems like on the spot adaptation. Your skills are amazing to see. Great Job
That would be sick, but I think my local TÜV (MOT) inspector would rip my head clean of, for wasting his time with something he can’t approve. (They rly are under pressure, where I live)
Tolga Balkan there are more ways to accept on line payments such as skrill and so on.. I am from Belgium how much do you take if I send you my car fornt lights to be customised?
@@baskery86 Еще зависит от качества диодов, у меня в подсветке простояли диоды 12 лет (почти 500 тыс км преимущественно ночью, если днем как правило свет включен) и светили отлично, думаю и сейчас у нового владельца машины светят.
This was incredible to watch. I'm going to have to make some lights for a 2002 Lincoln blackwood. I don't have the passenger one but I saw you working with plexiglass. I'm going to try and make one.
