Welcome to the third episode of our ‘How it Works’ series, where we’re diving deep into e-scooter suspensions.
In this video, we compare Apollo Scooters’ own cutting-edge suspension systems, including spring and hydraulic suspensions, as well as rubber suspension, which is being used specifically for the rear of our upcoming Pro hyper scooter. We show you how these suspension systems work and the benefits they offer for riders. We also explore experimental designs that claim to offer superior ride quality, explaining the science behind each suspension type and the pros and cons of using them.
Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced rider, this video will give you a whole new level of understanding of e-scooter suspensions and help you make an informed decision when choosing the right suspension system for your needs so you can cruise in comfort.

Can you do a video of the types of batteries that are used in Apollo Scooters and other brands, and why Apollo chose the battery manufacturer that they did? Also, might be good to explain battery care (why keep it between 70-80% in storage? why not leave the battery drained or the battery at full capacity? does fast charging affect battery life? does charging the battery immediately after a ride affect its health? etc)

Eloi I’ve been working on mounting the hydraulic/spring units to the phantom. My biggest problem so far has been I need to clearance them a bit and I don’t want to compromise the arm.

I have the Apollo City dual motor. Can the suspension handle jumping down from normal street curbs? These curbs are about 15 to 20cm

Any chance of revising the City Pro fenders to better protect the suspension from debris and rock chips that lead to rust?

I think rubber torsion is definitely a great design as long as you can keep the chassis and torsion block rigid enough.

Have you guys ever though about a type of mud flap for scooters to help prevent flats? Ive noticed that the rear tire really takes a beating and picks up stuff from the road more often than the front tire. Ive came to reason that this is because the front tire kicks stuff off the road where the back tire catches it. A possible simple solution is to have a mud flap right behind the front tire that helps keep objects out of the way. Could have it designed in a way where items tossed up off the road are caught by the flap and pushed to the side out of the path of the rear tire. A replaceable brush could line the bottom of the flap so it drags along the ground making a really nice barrier. Overall its just a idea but something that might extend the life of a scooter tire.

try using a mountain bike suspension fender, they are plastic and easy to apply. I will try it and see if i can cut it and squeeze it in there somehow lol.

Hi Iron Hood, We're sorry to hear about your issue and we're here to help. We followed up on your ticket and it looks like your brake pads were sent back as you were away for an extended period of time. Moving forward, please an alternate address for shipments if you are away as couriers only keep your package for a few days before sending it back. We'll follow up with our support team regarding resending your brake pads to you :)

Would the City pro suspension fit the Ghost? The springs looks very similar, with a mounting converter we could easily install it on the ghost. The problem I’m facing is that the hole where the spring is attached on the ghost is only 35mm wide, not a lot of suspensions are that thin, most are around 45mm wide.

Hi Jocke, Unfortunately, the City Pro suspension is not compatible with the Ghost.
