I would love to see the manufacturers take all their amazing skill, technology and craftsmanship and apply it to non-animal skin interior materials. They never show the blood and guts before the animal skins get to the factory. Leather is an old idea, better suited in antique cars.
Chad Anderson I am a knife maker and I have tried to use the non animal leather. I FOUND OUT THAT IT WON'T LAST. I so I stick to leather for the scabbards for the knives I make. I get my leather from Missouri.
James William Do you know any non-animal materials that are as durable and long-lasting while still being affordable for the average person? If you can come up with an answer to that, you'd quickly become a millionaire.
Its a by product of animals who are slaughtered for meat not cruelty, Its nature. And leather is more environment friendly than its plastic alternative.
Chad first of all for your information leather industry does not slaughter animals. It is a by product of the meat industry. The same meat steaks, burgers, sausages you enjoy throughout the years. Secondly any product which is not made of animal skin cannot be called leather. And finally everyone wants a fashionable leather shoes, a leather belt, leather wallets, etc but cry on internet showing tantrums. Next time wear a shoe made of plastic and a jacket made of pvc in winter.
