( Japan never try to Debt Trap like China, Japan is a time tested friend of India ) Japan did helped us a lot, no shame in accepting reality, of-course they gain Indian Market for Japan's Products, but they gained market bcoz of their own good will.

By big investments in India Japan (Japanese Business) gets Preferential treatment in India over German or American or any other country's products. And off cource if any Japanese Corporations or Japanese citizen gets in to legal trouble in india then Indian government will put in all its efforts to protect Japan it could be legal, political or even force to protect Japanese Interest in India and rescue Japanese entities out of troubled situation. This has happened in past but both nations worked the way out of trouble. And as a Asian neighbour every Indian Child, Adult to elderly everyone feels proud of Japan who has achieved remarkable industrial and economical success. Not to forget Japan and India both have great historical relations dating back to thousands of years so that connect has maintained and increased the trust between two great nations. So that's why Japan puts in lot money in Infra projects in India in basis od tried and tested diplomatic, economical and cultural relations. Another factor is China which is a rival of both so now security ties relations also plays a role in Indo-Japanese ties.

Low interest rates might surprise a lot of people but Japan until very recently was giving loans to its own people at negative interest rates - which essentially means when you take a loan you get more than what you asked for in the end.
0.01% intrest rate is only on bullet train loan plus that move help both the countries japan wants to export their bullet trains and india wants to have that and jan was unable to export those trains to any countries so they thought that if this model works then the demand for japanese trains will incease drastically and japan will recover ther losses so the point is no one doing anything only for other they are just doing it for themselves

As a develop asian country japan investing in india and i must say japani will must get the high returns (monetary return as well public support from india) Japan giving loan at very low rate thats right but Japan and india builds project together with partnership and get return from income of that project.
Japan "investing" in India if good idea but poor execution compared to how China is doing it. China will build port and roads to African countries with around 3~4% interest rate and use what they build as collateral in case the African countries. At the same time, China will export lost of cheap Chinese electrical goods to Africa to sell. What does Japan gets after the investment in India? I guess Japan doesnt even get the publicity for their help because I never heard of Japan loan to India.

Yes in 2026 India will do the first trial run of the Shinkansen trains in the Mumbai Ahmedabad highspeed rail corridor. Next year the shinkansen sets will arrive in India from Japan to be assembled.
