Yes she would've. Jennifer Lopez is also talented in her own unique way. She obviously can't sing nowhere near as good as Selena, but she is also a VERY intelligent business woman and that's why she's been so successful because she's managed to forge an acting, singing, dancing, and fashion career etc. all on her own. Selena had help of her family, but JLO had nobody to help her early on in her career. She's always been a driven and determined individual and even if they had never made a movie about Selena, Jennifer still would've found some other way to make it big. People only like to talk shit about her because of her personal life and that's mainly what comes to their minds when her name is mentioned, people just judge her for that but nobody is perfect. And had Selena lived I think her and Jen would be friends.

Even some people from welsh are darker. Stop with the theory that Spanish colonists white washed South America. The Spaniards were already a darker complexion when they colonized and mixed with darker natives. its sad that most people lack history today. Leave history alone and let it be handled by people in over seas, seems like you are from America that lack history and have that white wash theory. Europe is not all so called white. Almost all latinos have a mix of African, Spanish, Portuguese, and Native American. In Mexico its mainly Spanish and native but puerto rican's like JLO are mostly biracial. She is not white she might have more spanish in her but she also possibly have African and Native American. Africans when they mix with whites the white gene becomes dominant. Many latinos that are light brown to white will take their DNA and have about ten to twenty % African and about thirty % native and the other fifty% is Spanish, Italian or Portuguese. Now that is just the lighter skin latinos. The darker ones have more native and African but all three races have dark complexion and spanish Europeans are already darker than most Europeans.

I know it is expected for everyone to give their opinions but if your opinion lacks sense please don't make a fool of yourself. This comment about "whitewashing" is racist. White Americans are already prejudiced against Hispanic Latinos/Latinas therefore all Latinos/Latinas and other ethnic groups should stand together united regardless of their backgrounds.
