Jenny I am so happy for you! You are an inspiration to us all! I also love how you rewired your thinking spiritually and allowed yourself to pursue a 6-figure income while also still having a fire to serve others around you. Thank you for sharing your journey with the rest of us!
Damn, what a lucky woman. I am a copywriter with 6-years of experience and I have difficulty in landing a Copywriting job for months. I guess most companies hire internal or recommended candidates and didnt even check new job applications.
Having a community around you can definitely help! It is important to remember to continue to network and put yourself out there, even as your career grows. :)
This is so inspirational and I am SO happy for you Jenny! You deserve everything you’ve worked for. I love your method of getting clients btw! I am so gonna use that!
Amazing 🤩 after watching the interview I got the motivation to start my copywriting career. I might not be able to join The copy posse LAUNCHPAD right now but I promise I'll join in the next season.❤❤
Love this interview. I did Alex's Write and Ignite challenge too in 2020, not the live one but the recorded one. I have learned so much from that challenge and that shows in the way I approach to writing in general now. Not just words but choosing the right words that matters to the person who is reading.
Jenny had lot of confidence in herself and just went for it! I applaud her efforts and am glad she's doing well. I am just getting into copywriting more seriously and it's TOUGH! Haha but with my job situation as it is right now it is one of the things I want to do the most so I am going for it.
I was a Freelance Copywriter but 2020 the 2 clients I had on retainer couldn't pay me anymore 😔 and I enjoyed working with them. I'm getting back into it now...gonna put my new website up soon. I'm doing it differently this time ☺️ so excited
You're amazing girls, such an inspiration to others. Thank you and wishing you all the best. I really loved the phrase: "There's abundance out there, enough for everyone" ))) ❤
Hi Alex, I just started to get into the copywriting industry and i just want to say all your videos are really helpful and have been really fun to watch Aswell
Hope I'll make it in Launch Pad season 5 because I'm just 16 lol but I'm Hella interested in pursuing copywriting... Till Then Only Practice and no gig(or maybe free ones) It's nice to know you conquered COVID too...
@@thab1237 been here 2 months now haven't made anything back tbh I tried c/w that didn't work but was interesting so now on ecom but not much better atm
@@kaosskennedy5096 Yeah, I havent made anything either, I mean I barely tried lmao, I watched all of the sprinting videos and pretty much stopped there
Hey Alex I see that doors close for the Posse pad on Jan 16th. And I regrettably found you on the 19th… Does this mean there won’t be potential spots opening up later on? I did go ahead and sign up already and filled the questionnaire. Thank you!
Hey! I'm sorry to hear that - but yes, you've missed your chance for LIVE coaching in 2022. I won't reopen doors until 2023. I do however, have a self-study version of this program that's worth checking out if you don't want to wait that long :) copyposse.com/launchfiles/
Hey Alex! I can relate to your student on so many levels and really appreciate all of your educational content, I feel like I'm the baby version of your student. I really liked hearing her experience but it felt a bit too Interruptive on your side. I was struggling to understand her journey workflow and wasn't a cohesive as it could be. I really enjoyed this idea but next time maybe structure the questions and comments a bit differently 🤔

interesting story....very impressive and very motivated.....how much is your course Alex? also it's possible to learn all skills if you're non-native enghlish ?
I have a few different courses at various price points. You can find more info on those including prices here: copyposse.com/programs/ My courses are in English, but the skills can be applied to any language! :)
Happy for her but honestly this kind of money is only possible for a writer from a "first world" country. Clients won't even entertain newbies who aren't "native English speakers". An inconvenient truth which no freelancing guru wants to discuss is that the Freelance world is also biased much especially for services like writing. For "third world" newbie writers like me, even securing that one client is a task let alone earning those many dollars. I have come across fellow writers from India (where I'm based) and Pakistan who sell their services for 5 USD per Sales article. Forget 17k USD, even 1k USD a month is asking for too much in our case.
@laura Aw take it easy. He was just talking on the obstacles he faces. Granted it’s sounds a bit haterish, but chill. Isn’t this about learning and bettering ourselves??!
Hey Alex, I have a question for you! If you have any insight to share, do you think there is a large pay gap between freelance copywriters and those who work for an agency? In my experience, it seems even part time freelancers are often able to make more than agencies pay. Do you think agencies lowball or undervalue copywriting work? Transparency - I work at an agency full time as a UX copywriter and $17k is about half my pay for the year!
Hi, Erin. Working for an agency means your approx. income for an hour or per characters including spaces is always lower than you could potentially make on a freelance. Marketing agencies are still companies so that it means they will try to make the highest profit margin while reducing the costs. I think It's pretty logical. But is it fair? Well, agencies often offer the tides of tasks & standing orders. And typically there's plenty of work to do, so you don't worry that they'll run out of things to write. Thus you feel secure and calm. I.e. in Poland agencies pay approx. $1,7-2,5/1000 characters with spaces. Freelancer can make from $5 up to 10$ for text of similar quality. A good agency with fair and well-paid salary shows up once in a blue moon. As a UX copywriter you should be able to find quite well-paid job for a company not an agency. ;)
Yes - you make less working in an agency. BUT you also don’t need to hunt for clients, handle admin, billing, etc. so you save on expenses. Agency work is a great way to get your feet wet and learn/grow before going out on turn own!! @ambigious nailed it with their feedback!
Wow, Jenny is awesome. I LOVE how simple she is. How can you be that calm making upwards of $15,000 each month??!! If I were her, I'd have turned up with some BLING, BLING ... just because she deserves it. You're making them so much money, so WHY the FUCK NOT??!! Also, Alex, please pass on this Extravagant Challenge to Jenny, "Go right now and buy yourself a nice cute pair of Libelibotta Christian Louboutins! It's a dare! You won't regret it." QUESTIONS for Alex: >> When nurturing a conversation with a potential client, do you talk about copywriting-related stuff or just random stuff? >> What does it really mean to approach a potential client on a value-first basis? >> What about job boards that ask for your CV, Resume, and all that unnecessary stuff? Great video, Alex. Jenny's a sweet soul and an inspiring person. 😊😊😉
Thanks for your questions! I have a video about running discovery calls with potential clients that should help answer question 1: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--Rj4pro7wKA.html question 2: approaching a client on a value-first basis means that BEFORE you ever ask for work, you are giving them legitimate value of some sort. Whether it be practical advice, tips, your time, or a free writing sample, etc. question 3: if a job board asks for them, then I would provide them - otherwise your application likely won't be looked at all. GOOD LUCK
This video was so inspiring to me! I've been exploring the copywriting world for a few weeks now and watching SO many RU-vid videos about it. There are so many awesome people out there sharing this whole world I didn't even know existed and I've been drinking it in and I really want to be a part of it! I've been writing every day for the past week, just little journal entries if you will and just trying to learn the trade but it's hard to navigate where to start. I'm outgoing but like you said, but I'm also hesitant to be so public. If you have any advice for me that would be so incredible :)
Aww that's so great! I'm excited for you :) honestly I would advise that you stop "drink it all in" and instead focus on learning one thing at time! Study that particular thing (like ads, emails, etc.) and practice, practice. Then you can move on to learning & practicing another asset. But in my experience, if you try to learn it all all at once, you'll end up overwhelmed! Good luck!
Hi Alex my Guru I have been watching your youtube videos but I would really appreciate it if you can share the link or video of the same course Jenny followed so i can rewatch them in chronological order and improve then hopefully success in my venture! much obliged
Hey! Jenny was in my LIVE copywriting program. The doors to that program are currently closed, but you can find the self-study version of it here: go.copyposse.com/cplf-ytc
Hi Alex would it be possible to get some more tips on cold outreach please? What to do and what not to do.. Sample templates Where to find the clients to send the cold email to lol… Would really appreciate it and think it’ll be helpful for all of us. Thank you
Hey! A lot of people ask me for tips on cold outreach... I don't consider myself an expert in this, but I am considering interviewing someone who is! Stay tuned :)
Do I get it right that she only started with copywriting in july 2021? After she lost her job in March? I'm a bit confused, it took her 1 year or just under 6 months?
You're right, it totally varies!! In general, you'll find that you have to work more hours in the beginning years if you want to make into the $10k-20k range like this... Simply because your rates are lower in the beginning, which means you need more clients. So I would assume you'd probably be working"full-time" hours (40/week) to reach this level. Then as you gain experience, you'll slowly be able to raise your rates and work fewer hours to make the same amount - or even more
Great interview. Thank you. But what is the purpose of the foul language? It just doesn't suit you; you're more classy than swearing makes you appear, don't you think so?
