RIP to the Great, Jerry West, known by many as, "The Logo".There was talk a few years ago to replace him as the Logo. I believe the late Kobe Bryant, RIP, made the comment, "Never Do That ", about the executive responsible for bringing Kobe to the Lakers. This Hall of Famer was fundamentally sound as a player, and technically great as an Executive.Just an example of what made him great, other than the 9 NBA Championships,in all the hats he wore, He also expressed his desire to see the NBA go in a different direction with the Logo, " I do not want anything to do with drawing attention to myself ". The Logo has been a part of the NBA fabric, since 1969 and was definitely modeled after Number 44. RIP.
It's a sad day to be a Mountaineer 😢!! West Virginia, WVU Mountaineers and the NBA world have lossed a legend!! 'Zeke from Cabin Creek' aka 'Mr. Clutch' & 'The Logo', Jerry West has passed 😢😪 West was born into a poor household in Chelyan, West Virginia, on May 28, 1938.
