Perfected the interviewing process, you're doing these at people's homes and shops and their places of passion and just letting them speak. I appreciate actually getting to glimpse the real personality and thoughts of people I've only seen in TV personas
I personally appreciate everything that Jesse James did to become such a successful businessman. His business grew exponentially after he left Boyd's and he became such a huge icon and became an American icon within just a few years. I can fully appreciate everything that he did to make the big time. I haven't heard much from him in years but he's made such a name for himself that he doesn't need television or media exposure to be noticed, he's got his business and business sense to make something huge out of something that he created in his head.
Yeah but also a lot harder to make the right decision when you have the type of money to do anything you want. It's a paradox really. People's true character always shines through rich or poor though in my opinion.
I have his 1:18 scale choppers now for many years. Got them from Wal-Mart when they were $4.95 each. They are awesome. Really quality mini choppers with real rubber tires. Beautiful paint and chrome too ! Diablo Softail, Sturgis Special, Diablo Softtail, Chango Blanco (white gorilla ), El Diablo 2, Dominator, Cherry CFL, CFL Rigid, El Diablo Rigid, to name a few ! I even have two that are motorized (1:18 scale) with remote controlers ! AWESOME ! Love these toys . Wish I could wave a magic wand and make each one real and ride to town ! YEA BABY ! Jesse rocks !
I can not believe the $ numbers ! That is a lot of flipping T-shirts to make in such a short time. No way ! Wal-Mart could do that. Total bullshit $ numbers ! We are not that dumb !
correct he sold his soul to the devil for fame and fortune.. like all the same that came before him... now his goal is to take as many to hell with him as he can ( he is a Freemason )
Refreshing interview, JJ was the object, after watching this I know MORE about JJ and I have followed him since the beginning....and less about the interview guy....(that makes a great interview)...now i want one of JJ's guns.
Jesse James is a great welder and thats about it. Hes never had a single original bike design or innovation ever. He just ripped off Indian Larry and Billy Lane repeatedly. The guy has a double digit IQ and a huge opinion of himself
Kid rock is actually a marketing genius, if you have as low of an option of his “art” as me it’s hard to understand how anyone buys his weird style and music. He really has influence among his fans.
Everyone should be investing in physical silver...there is more gold above ground than silver, and silver is used for so many things and we are using it faster than it is being pulled from the ground.
Before he mentioned hot topic I was actually thinking why I never had a west coast customers shirt if they were so hot and I liked them so much as a kid , and remembered my first and only west coast licensed product was a blue 118 die cast chopper from hot topic! Man, I miss monster garage. Some of my best memories watching it with my pops and the whole family on ocassions
People don’t understand Kid Rock might look like a nut, but it’s all show, in reality the guy’s incredibly intelligent and a huge patriot. He really should be an inspiration for kids and anyone looking for someone with a level head to emulate. The celebrities today are shallow and lack any common sense for how celebs should use their fame, but old school celebs like Kid Rock use their fame to help others and be a positive influence. Yeah the guy screwed up a little when he was younger, but haven’t we all? It’s all about where your head is at when you finally mature into an adult and for some that doesn’t come till they’re in their forties or even fifties. Bottomline is… respecting the common man and the Constitution equals great human being vs. supporting Antifa and BLM equals evil lunatic.
Wow. Very wise statements here from Jesse James. You can see the fulfillment in his eyes when he talks about choosing to work with his hands over making money from T shirts. People can talk all the crap they want about rich folks, but we are all animals by nature, and have a want for more at any level. It takes knowledge of self and true wisdom to not let the euphoria of the material world and "perceived success" he talks about consume you in the moment or in the journey. On top of that, there is always a story and a lot of hard work and dedication behind it. It never just happens overnight. He briefly mentions that before TV and his T-shirts is company was recognized as one of the best motorcycle builders in the country. It's a different type of struggle than poor people or people in the middle class face, more of an internal and mental one than physical or physiological. This clip really shows a lot about the process of self actualization, and how Jesse was able to get where he is by following his love for a craft rather than material. Both share a spiritual struggle, trying to fight the world and not let it turn them into a drone. Very well spoken, calculated, humble, inspiring and insightful. Short but sweet clip, priceless wisdom to one who resonates with it and uses it to pursue a passion in something they love.
You Jesse can be a real pain in the but to people sometimes but I can completely understand why he's become that way, he's hustled just about all his life from hustling his work wielding or his artist vision as well as his business hustle, dude! He's got to be exhausted and pretty close to just burn out. I love his vision on thing and then he just goes ahead and make it, thays hard to do and he does it well. Cool dude just plain cool dude. Keep up the great work.
Translation he has made so much money he can do what he wants to do now.. Also he does not need money so he can charge what he wants.. Supply and Demand ..
SELF MADE MAN,he enjoys working and that's about all, alot of guys are like that they like the solitude and most are genius fabricators just like him,his skill amazes me,and his winning attitude,if he doesn't know he finds out, street smarts backed up by money makes you dangerous in the business world,i like him, atttude and all
Jessie James can sell into Wallmart because he is major brand unto himself. If Jessie James is pissed he could walk and tell Walldo mart to screw off and Wallmart takes a hit. Jessie doesn't have to worry about Wallmart calling him in into the negotiating table after 1 year to be told he needs to lower his price or they will drop him. Even though Adidas and Nike are huge they have major stock holders and that brings with it a host of big problems for growth projections.
Finally an interviewer that lets the person being interviewed talk. Most are more interested in talking over the person they are interviewing and making themselves the center of attention. Great job.
I agree completely most people just ask and ask questions without giving them time to answer a full sentence with honesty and I watched this because he is an idol as a metal fabricator so thanks mate
+Graham Bensinger This interview stands so much out from everything, i saw to this point. This is real journalism. You ask a question and let the guy talk and everybody can hear his point of view from start to end. Thank you so much for beeing a professional. It`s a fresh breeze of air, that gives back a little trust in journalism. Think about the days of Barry Sheene and James Hunt. They could trust the journalists. One side became a story and the other side got promoted. It was like a brotherhood. Keep up the good work. It`s not just me, who will remember your name. Thank you and greetings from germany.
+Darla vonderheide Of all places to cross paths with you again.....a Jesse James interview. :) Great to see you're still on youtube. :) .....and you're right about Graham's style of interview. I've been watching more and more of his interviews....great style and very interesting! Mike
Lmao every time I hear this guy speak. Low intelligence and lack of education and you end up with a manner of speech making you sound like a teenage valley girl. Imagine this idiot giving a speech. 😆 every other word is " like" followed by " you know" .
This guy has built a massive brand and has enjoyed success a lot of people would only dream of, all because he busted his ass and made it happen. Who cares how he speaks?
@@steelstrunghero That's exactly what makes it funny. A hard core bike builder related to Jesse James the outlaw talks just like (see what I did there, lol) a VALLEY GIRL is simply hilarious. It would only be funnier if he spoke like ( see I did it again just cause it's funny, lol) a flamboyant gay guy. That's why people laugh at him impossible to take someone seriously who speaks like that.
His TV career is in shambles because he shared pics of him posing as a Nazi. Seems like your hard worker actually was lucky to get on TV, and then his own stupidity ruined his TV career. I don't respect hard workers who support such bigotry. If you were black, or Jewish, do you think he would want to hire you?
@um me Its a supporting fact of my claim that Jesse James didn't really sell anything but his name, and that the sponsors are the one's that truly funded enterprises like this. And thats why, AFTER they found out he possibly deals with Nazism, antisemitism, or white supremacy, his sponsors were cut and he is no longer the TV figure he was. It just goes to show that people look up to fame and fortune while blindly ignoring the realities of those people. Combine that with America being one of the most evangelical nations in Earth, its confusing to see how Christians would openly ignore the very tenements of Jesus Christ's message for humility over pride. I guarantee so many fans of Jesse James come from super-Christian states and communities, yet their support for unnecessary wealth and fame is exactly what would deny them entry to Heaven!! I'm sorry you couldn't understand why I would suggest his own public mistake with that Nazi photo is part of the reason he's not a billionaire today, and actually never owned the wealth of the TV shows, shirts, and products his name is on. Otherwise, wouldn't he be retired and living in a mansion?
@um me You just said that insecure people are expected to be louder than self-confident people, yet they wouldn't know how to over-compensate if they hadn't already seen it happen, and that primary event actually motivated them to be insecure? Then how did the first insecure guy come about? There has to be a beginning, right? Almost like a genesis of insecurity? But with your logic, the wheel was already built, so therefore it couldn't have been invented! Kind of silly, eh? Its called human nature, meaning no matter what culture, language, religion, or heritage you possess as an individual, you are prone to insecurities based on the nature of things. For instance, some girls with small breasts resent women with big breasts, whether they are American or not. Its human nature to have insecurities, and no one can teach you that. But, certain folks have the luxury of being taught how to deal with their emotions, and how to cast aside insecurities based on their dignity and self-respect. Some people think 'doubling-down' on acting like a jackass will improve their demeanor, when it usually does the opposite. People don't learn how to be insecure. Some are just never taught how to get over it!
Jesse is a fortunate man no doubt about it. I think there's a whole bunch of people out there Just Like Jesse and just like me who would like nothing better and to build stuff in the garage until we drop. Unfortunately we can't just stop life and hide in the garage. It takes money to pursue the things that make you happy no matter how simple or complex they are. Congratulations to Jesse did he gets to do what he likes to do he is one out of many many many people.
Jesse James is the guy, maybe not his personal life. He's always been a role model for me. He's a modest guy, and sticks to his guns so to speak. Btw. I like this reporter! He just stays quiet, lets the guest speak. And asks great questions!
I would have given Kid Rock a really nice gift or something after taking his advice and generating those kinds of sales. Everyone was telling you no, you have your friend giving you the thumbs up and steering you in a good direction. The dude is definitely deserving of a sweet ride or something, though I can imagine Jess being a good friend and doing something nice for him anyways.
Hey Graham your interview style is amazing! You always allow the guest to lead and you follow, really like your work! If it's not to much trouble could you post the link for the Greg Norman interview you did? Thanks in advance, a fan.
I can remember buying my first west coast choppers tee in 2002 thinking I was the first one that knew about Jesse. Truth is he was a force. He was a likeable, humble dude. He was also tough and very smart. He had some gravel in his gut. He also had a good eye for what looked good and he had the name and skills to back up his brand and it was at a time where people wanted to learn about bikes and cars and why they were so expensive. Hand craftsmanship that's why
Fenian317 ! Because as American as he acts and talks, most of his clothing is still made in sweatshops in Pakistan and China. It's always a polished turd. No matter how much you polish it it's always a turd.
He became a millionaire by using his talent, which is building cars and bikes. I respect the hustle and talent. Good teaching tool for this younger generation today...
Jesse is the real deal. I spoke with a colleague of his at WCC who gave me Jesse’s email. I sent him an email asking him to build me a bike. He returned my email and explained that he no longer was building custom bikes. I was disappointed but stoked that I had messaged with him. I also have a one off association with Jesse in that a friend of mine was making small hot rods and 4x4 trucks like the old Hot Wheels. I told him that he should contact Jesse and see if they could get together and start producing his bikes cause I thought that kids all over the place would love to have one. Well, they did get together and they produced a range of Choppers from small to somewhat large bikes. My friend gave me a 2002 WCC signed WCC catalogue and a Kid Rock bike (kinda large) for my idea. Never did get the chopper that I’ve always wanted, but was glad to have helped spread the word about WCC, and in a very small way, help Jesse out a bit. I still think he’s one of the coolest guy’s out there and he never sold out to assholes like Stallone. Hoping to get one of Jesse’s bikes in my next life...
All I want to know is, did they catch the rattler I can hear in the background? 😂 Joking aside, as a fellow metal-botherer , I have huge respect for this chap. Greetings from an English guy, currently lost in France. 🏆
Sounds a great life. But I'd love to know out of $1 million sales. How much he actually makes take home profit after everyone has their costs and wages 🤔👍🏻🇬🇧
He said he sold close to a billion in revenue over 9 years. JUST at WalMart. Figure roughly 100% markup to retail. Maybe a little less, because WalMart, but still he made basically 50 million a year in his pocket for a decade.
Wal wart marked up 1$ per item Generally it's 100% markup from whole sale So if he did 1 billion that's 500$ million in what he sold in 9 years less the price of manufacturing
3200 stores sold two shirts a day that is more than 5000 it's a very realistic number especially like he said when all the other shirts at Walmart sucked
Simple, as usual. If you're rich you can become really rich. If you're broke, well, sucks to be you. Oh wait sorry i was talking about reality. Cough cough, "You just have to work hard and you'll get there ;) You goo." Said every rich person to every poor person. While i think his work is awesome, these interviews of rich people asking rich people that were rich how they got rich... YAWN! And all the "well i started from nothing" hahaha Yeah sure you did ;) You probably didn't even have clothes, but you just "worked hard" with nothing xD And yep, here we are. Magic.
While I think Jesse James is a very good craftsman, he is literally a walking contradiction, and has made his millions by slinging overseas sweatshop memorabilia -- NOT by building things with his hands. For example, how ironic is it that he talks about "American made" this and "American made" that and getting back to "his roots by moving to Texas", yet one of his current lines of clothing (Jesse James Industrial Workwear, just to name one) is made in Pakistan --- and this stuff is not exactly cheaply priced. All of the Walmart shit he talks about in this video was made in China as well. If he were sincere he would have this stuff made in the US, because there are TONS of places that will manufacture clothing. Bottom line is, although he knows his shit and can build anything, he is just a heavily-gimmicked businessman and millions of gullible "blue-collar" fans (globally) eat this up. Might as well buy your workwear at Walmart (don't think they even sell his stuff any longer) and save a few bucks and put the rest towards good tools or helping someone out, because they are selling the same sweatshop bullshit that Jesse James sells on his website.
Well Trump did the same thing, Make America great, pro miltary but when it was his time to service he took multiple draft deferments and all of his clothing line is made for next to nothing in some foreign country. Now he wants tariffs on steel but when he was building he used imported steel. He tries to act like he is like the working poor, what a joke.
Living leagend, true badass aimed to inspire, you rock Jessie....Love all the tips you give out gets me motivated, makes me want to build something. Just wish I had more time an money to build stuff.
3.59 "I'm business minded and I'm a hustler so I wasn't really thinking about the dollar amount" sums up this dumb interview. " you knows". Just paraphrasing.
Yeah, he's a huge success, except at marriage. Could have been wed to Sandra Bullock for life, but pissed it away, and it was self-inflicted. Enjoy your $$$ Jesse. You lose.
