There's a lot that goes into making a jet engine. They are some of the most fascinating machines out there, and they work by harnessing the power of airflow. In this video, we break down how jet engines work, and appreciate the engineers who make them possible.

@showshowtomakefreeenergyge2426
Slats and flaps are mechanisms on the wings of some jet airplanes that help to increase lift while takeoff and landing. The slats are attached to the leading edge of the wing and the flaps are attached to the trailing edge. When extended, they create more surface area on the wing, which produces more lift. The flap slat mechanism is a complex system that helps jet engines operate more efficiently. By understanding how this system works, we can better understand how jet engines work as a whole.

I finished my A&P school last year and you covered pretty much all of it here. Great job. We had an engine that was used in the A10 Warthog that was a good example of this here. We had P&W PT-6 and Allison 250 turbo shaft to take apart and rebuild. The PT-6 is a turbo prop engine and the Allison 250 was used in helicopters. You should do a study on those.

Not gonna lie, that sounds fun. Taking apart and rebuilding the engines, especially working with an engine used on an A-10 warthog, which is my personal favorite plane, and the reason I play DCS world. Would love to be able to work with that aircraft, but can't enter the airforce, yet..
@Erik-rp1hi

@@demonman1234 Unfortunately we only had 1 of the A10 engines. We were only allowed to remove the accessories. The "turbine" class was only one semester so not enough time to tear down. We had teams of 4 working on the PT6 and Allisons. We had a dozen each of those. One of our instructors was from the Air Force. See had a job of working, remove and replace the jet engines on the B2 Stealth Bomber.

Excellent, thorough explanation of very specific systems within these fascinating machines. My only critique about the video is the increasingly annoying music track behind the narration. It could be left off, altogether, or maybe turned down to half it's volume. It literally distracts from narration and that is unfortunate.

Jet engines are such fascinating pieces of technology, aren't they? The performance aspect of jet engines, as covered in Part 3 of this series, is particularly intriguing. It's amazing how these engines are designed to handle extreme conditions while providing immense power. The efficiency and power-to-weight ratio of jet engines make them vital in various applications, from commercial airliners to high-speed jets. It's always exciting to learn about the intricate details that make such powerful machinery work so smoothly and efficiently. What aspect of jet engine performance do you find most interesting? 🚀✈💡
