Regardless of what anyone says Jimmy was the best thing that ever happened to the Statler Brothers , not only his voice but his personality is so very sweet and kind that you can’t help but love him ! He wrote such beautiful songs and sings right from the heart ! Now he is singing with (Brotherly Love , Brothers of the Heart ) not really sure what they are calling their group but their harmony together is second to none !
We just seen him in Shipshewanna! We were sitting having breakfast and he and Ben Isaac sat at the table behind us. We were talking to them just like you talk to your friends! Very humble guys the whole Brother of the hart group that he is with now are FANTASTIC!

So right. Freedom is not free. My husband served in Vietnamese Nam as a Marine. At 21 he was hit by a Misile. Both eyes were removed, left temporal skull fracture, both jaws broken, and numerous other injuries. He passed away 51 years later after much suffering.
Nothing like your story, but my Vietnam veteran husband passed last year after fighting cancer caused by Agent Orange for 12 years and terrible memories since 1966. Very few understand the full sacrifice of a life given for others. I also lost a brother who was killed when his ship hit a mine off Korea. My parents never got over the pain. Thank God for those who desire to serve.
Even though Arlington is the main one there are other military cemeteries in the US. If you can't get to Arlington go to one of them. If you live in Colorado or close by go to Fort Logan in the Denver Metro area. l have three extended family members there, my father-in-law, my son-in-law, and a friend who was like a second to my youngest son since my husband was handicapped.
While I'm overseas in the Philippines or Thailand I always make sure I go to the military cemetery and lay flowers that are men that died for our freedoms not only our freedoms but the freedoms of people all around the world.

Zen Dean - to hate things that both reference loving something larger than yourself is (sadly, imho) very common these days. We humans are fascinated and impressed by our human intellect (the belief that “We are as good as it gets, and we humans are the ‘the top of the food chain,’ intellectually speaking”), and we love to ignore the fact that human intellect is suspect at best, and that’s true for all of us (imho). It takes a certain lack of understanding of the English language to post what you did. You can't be religion or be patriotism. Those are nouns. One CAN be religious or patriotic, which describe a state of being or activity and are considered adjectives. In any case, I'm sorry that you hate so much. It's an emotion that consumes the one who feels it. I hope nothing in life has hurt you in relationship to to those qualities, but it is sad that you bear such animus toward them and the people who practice them. I'm tempted to say that I will pray for you, but I'm sure that would negatively enflame you more, so I will simply remind you of two old proverbs: "Live and let live" and "If you can be anything, be kind."
