Joan Bennett's maternal grandfather, Lewis Morrison, was a Jamaican of English, Jewish, Black and Spanish heritage, an Age of Vintage biography would be fascinating on this man.
well these girls certainly did not inherit any of the black features. They all had horrible too thin lips they used to much lipstick on I found them to be extremely homely never knew what the appeal was. It would be very interesting to see a video on morrison I can't understand what the necessity is of this video discussing an injury to some man's testicles Oh Lor.d
Well jane from Dark Shadows. I loved her in rhat show. Thanks for sharing her story. Oh yes SUSPIRIA where she was amazing and i watch that movie alot. RIP Joan.
The info is great. But what is not good is when pictures do not match the conversation. I'm sure photos are abound, so I don't understand nor like the disconnect.
I am in full agreement with you, Nate! This is one thing that has always chapped me. It's not as if there aren't pictures to show that align with the commentary, since they are shown during other parts of the narration. They only need to be lined up with the speech; rather like an old movie that we had to wait to see those dots onscreen and then press the play button! It's got to be easier than that ever was! 😉
It is totally a shame that actors and actresses are vulnerable to bad press when most of them are ordinary people who happen to be "on the stage" all their lives. Joan Bennett had a long and marvelous career in the 40's and 50's. I think her best role is in "Man Hunt" with Walter Pidgeon. She plays the "good-hearted prostitute" who is killed by the Naziis. Take her for who she was: a fine actress who personified sincerity in most of her roles. We need to respect those people who happen to have a talent for acting and whose lives are therefore "fodder" for the gossip columnists!
I would later do lots of stag work.when I was 17 and in my first year of a really good acting school I got a job for a security company that worked with theaters. It played well and I got to meet a lot of celebrities. Which was a comedy in itself. I was hired because I looked good in suits. About 1977 or 78 I was personal secretary for a lot of stars in show business. I also was odd in that I was obsessed with learning about the golden years of Hollywood. I as I said was 17 and Miss Benit was who I had to watch over at Radio City. She was there for a soft rost for Tony Randell . The money went to Myasthenia graves. Sho was there with a man but he didn’t stay by her side. She was so charming and nice and shocked the I knew so much about her. She was older but looked incredible in her gown and fers. I can say she had the best manners and charm of anyone I ever meet
8:00 "On the set of her fourth film with Fritz Lang, the tension was 'palatable.'" Sorry, my good sir, the word you are looking for was "palpable," (something one can feel) vs "palatable" (1. acceptable or agreeable to the taste; 2. Acceptable or agreeable to the mind) Sorry, just trying to help...
