Jude Bellingham has become the best player in the world less than six months after signing for Real Madrid. Only three years ago he was playing for Birmingham City in the Championship.
As Seb Stafford-Bloor writes, Bellingham’s ascent has been rapid, but his evolving role in many different systems and under different managers have given him the tools to be elite at Real Madrid.

Even if he doesn't play as centrally in a five man midfield, he has the confidence to help get your team further up the pitch. I think of Trequista's doing that, attacking midfielders struggle to do that if the players ahead of them aren't strong - he can, that's why he has been compared to Kaka (who was also the world's best player briefly).

I love how he has this new, free kind of role and he still gets through a ton of defensive work - more in the defensive third than the attacking third. There's no quality more admirable in football than hard work and professionalism, regardless of talent level. It seems to illustrate how grateful some players are that they can do this for a living. For a young man who's got the world at his feet, in a sport where money, fame and ego can be a star's downfall, it's even more impressive to me.

it's funny, considering la liga is actually a lot more defensive than PL. Too many la liga teams sit in low blocks playing anti football. PL is a lot looser. But it does mean that in la liga, the big teams have to spend a lot of time in attack trying to break down the block, whereas in the PL (where smaller teams play more ambitiously and have strong counter attacks) the big teams need to do a bit more defensively to avoid conceding on a counter.

Shoot me down for this, but if he stays fit he will make a great no 10 for England and future Captain, who was the first player to run to Kane when he missed the penalty, I don't know what he said but probably head up mate we go again, he was 19 then, im not saying he will be a Messi of Zidane, but he is certainly on his way, the England team should be built around him in my opinion

Bellingham was just another young prospect with surprising results in Dortmund, but in RM, he plays a pretty vital role. Mixed with the freedom in the field gave him an edge. I more happy that RM didn't fire Anchelotti after 1 season like they did before. Only Anchelotti understands his role very much. Zidane would just harmed his roll with safe approach.

"Overnight"? Huh? Anyone who has been watching the Bundesliga already knows that he has been a top5 player there for like two years. His self-confidence and abilities are absolutey nuts and while it probably wasn't expected that he would score so many goals for Real it was quite clear that he would be play a good role at Real from the get-go.

@MrReese
@MrReese 6 месяцев назад
@@XXBlueThanosXX Seems like you are guilty of what you are accusing me of. A top5 Bundesliga player is usually also one of the best in the world. Want some examples of past and present? Neuer, Kane, Lahm, Lewandowski, Sancho (he was world class before ManUtd messed him up), Haaland, Dembele, Musiala (Messi voted for him at the Kopa award for the world's best U21 player), and so on. Many of Bayern's players fall in that category and Dortmund usually have at least one insane player at any given time that they then sell for crazy money to clubs like Real, Barca, ManCity, etc. .

@@XXBlueThanosXX Who said anything about top5? I certainly didn't. The single matter of the fact is that the Bundesliga is not getting the respect it deserves. If a player plays at a world class level there people on the outside don't care, if he moves to Real and keeps doing his stuff or moves to ManCity (YUCK) and keeps doing his stuff people suddenly take notice and say he's the best in the world. I think this is a case of misinterpretation. Jude has been just as good for every team he’s played with before joining los blancos. Has he ever had a season where he didn’t outperform every other midfielder (arguably player) in his league?Admittedly his stats are quite better since being in Madrid but I don’t think it’s a stretch to argue he’s been the most inform player in the world for the the past two years.

No shirt number should ever be retired. No player is bigger than the club. You have a club legends and years later you will have another club legend who will wear that number. And then in 100 years from now you will have an epi collection of legends who played in that number. David Beckham, C Ronaldo played in 7, for the same club, Messi Marradonna 10 for Argentina etc etc
