Incredible lessons. What fascinates me the most is not only the scientific exploration but also you got her swimming history record from age 5 and so on. Good job Feres.
Thanks for these videos, super helpful! I love the ones that u include a whole workout plan inside since i havent had a coach in a while and used ur workouts as inspiration to create my own swim workouts
Not really, I’m a 13 year old competitive swimmer and when you swim 8 times a week and have been swimming close to that amount for 3-4 years it becomes normal
Thankyoiu so much this is full of useful content 🙂 Actually, the gallop style with the rotation is very interesting - do you have more viedos about this - or maybe you could make them Thanks a lot
Well, glad to see that you are now using the gallop style. I have been trying to figure out why it works as well as it does. Not sure about the extra torque as being the reason. I do know Gary Hall Sr. over at Race Club is a big fan of the breathing arm coming over high on the recover, and diving that down into the water to add to torque, and coupled with the porpoise action which is a part of this stroke style, that could add some extra torque. I was figuring that some thing else may be going on. Saw a comparison of back stroke arm pull and freestyle arm pull, and the difference is that with back stroke, the arms pull opposite each other, which makes it more of a constant motion stroke while with freestyle, and keeping arms in the front quadrant, you end up with a bit more of a pull/glide stroke for each arm. With the gallop style, it is a quick 1, 2 arm pull, then a slight pause. I would guess that this might eliminate or greatly reduce one of those glide parts of the arm stroke cycle. For sure, I have to breath every other stroke. After years of trying to breath every 3rd arm stroke, I gave up. Couldn't make it to 100 yards without running out of air.
I'm a swim coach for a club team and I was just looking for a video in distance! Question, what should be you race strategy for a 500 and is double breathing before a turn a good idea?
Great questions! For the 500, go out smooth and strong, then build your way through the 500 to finish all out. Double-breathing is a no go! It'll slow your momentum into the turn. Hope this helps :)
Would you like to make a video, analyzing Ian Thorpe technique ? He is my idol, i try to learn everything from him: hand movement, rotation drill but when i combine kick beat of Ian Thorpe, I feel very very tired
Thank you. I am 68 and have started swimming after an 8 year absence. I love swimming. How do I get my V02 uptake up? It’s at 25. Thx. for your great videos.
Thanks for the video! I would like to understand how do you spread the training or what should be the strategy for doing what you suggest because every step even in the training phases are long enough to do it in several sessions, and then the endurance specials that also are long sessions. Is it possible to do it in 6 days sessions of 1 hour or 1:30 hr and then repeat it the following week?
Hi I have 200m breast on sunday at regionals. How should I swim it because I havent done it in ages in a 50m pool 😀😀😀 especially when I can't Copenhague with the burn 🤣
Hi there! Make sure you're staying long, hit streamline in every glide, and use your pullouts off each wall to your advantage. This video applies somewhat more to the 100 breaststroke compared to the 200, but there's some great tips in here too: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tihx30_OC5M.html
Hi there! Make sure you're doing active stretches before you swim to get warmed up, static stretches afterwards to get loose, and drink plenty of water. Keep up the good work and be kind to yourself :)
