Motorcycles have this magnetic pull - they're notorious, powerful, and downright risky, making anyone who hops on one feel a mix of excitement and fear. Take the Kawasaki H1 500 Mach 3, for example. It was a beast crafted for one purpose: speed.
This motorcycle was an attempt-a wild gamble that managed to escape the boardroom. Forget about its efficiency or handling qualities; the design of this lethal motorcycle was centered on maximizing its top speed. When it was introduced in 1969, it was the fastest motorcycle available. This beast required a very skilled rider because it could reach a top speed of 126 miles per hour and go from 0 to 60 in less than 5 seconds.

Only difference is now the tires brakes frames and suspension caught up to the HP. Fast and safe for any half assed skilled rider.

My Sixth Motorcycle was the 1972 H I B Mach III, I was 14 years old, All my friends said I would be dead In a Week, I'm 65 and still kicking, My first was In August 1968, I rode for 30 years, And I'm still here. Needless to say I was a wild man, In middle school, everybody watched me wheelie into the parking lot, and same thing after school, then the Mach- IV 750 H-II and It was On. out ran the police at least once a week,No Problem, never could catch me. 👊 😎

This video did not mention that the 1969 H-1 came with only drum front brakes or the light-switch horsepower that all came in at 6000 rpm. Those two attributes were the most dangerous...at least as the first H-1 was released to the US.

bias ply tires that were useless for grip, frames that flexed like soft play doh, and suspension that was a spring and no dampening to speak of LOL

@markholtdorf56 My comment was based on the 1969 model. By 1971, Kawasaki added disc brakes and slightly modded the power-band. The bike was still dangerous, but many bikes of that era were less safe than modern bikes.

The Kawa 500 was actually not that hard to handle! I loved it, but barely got away in one piece on the 750! That was an unruly SOB!! It was the 750 they called the widowmaker, not the 500.

Yes the 750 was a nightmare, way to light in the frontend a horror show, the Z1 was a winner.

Easy big power bad handling crap for brakes flexing frames. it killed idiots that did not understand the engine was way more than bike frame suspension brakes and tires f that era could control. it only killed idiots that did not understand the basic physics of 70s street bike. The 2 stroke dirt bikes were as dangerous lots of HP but crap frames suspensions and brakes
