She is a wonderful inspiration! Thanks to Dr Fung I started Intermittent Fasting a year ago. I lost 45kg within 7 months! All my excessive weight I did not know how to lose for years! I also started walking a lot and will keep doing this lifestyle hopefully forever! I cannot see one negative thing it just really corrected everything that was ‚wrong‘/not working for me. Kay says it perfectly - you just can get rid of all this diet stuff that never helped in the long run!
I can relate to this story. I love IF! I started IF on 9/1 and I'm already down 7lbs. I have 15 more to go. I'm not hungry all of the time and I'm not thinking about food all day long. If I want something I eat it during my eating window, but I don't eat it in excess. This is a permanent lifestyle change for me.
I.already love her and you guys. Everyone else is fit and trim and talks about how to stay thin. +60 yrs gained back another 40 pounds with this meno belly and can't lose a pound. Thank you thank you thank you!
I agee re fruit etc. I cant demonize a banana ; ) I have less of them but still eat fruit. I had someone say to me "I miss oranges" I'm like you cant eat an orange? Not for me. I lost 30 IF since Sept at 62. It can be done
Thank You! Love this! And I love that she isn't trying to weight 110 pounds! I weighed that in high school, all I want now as a Great Gran is to weigh somewhere around 160. I've got 30 pounds more to lose and already so much more flexible! Woo-Hoo! Kay's goal of wearing regular womens size clothing is spot on! The scale lies!
First the interviewers were great. Asked the right questions and allowed guest to do most of the talking. The fasting seems to be a way to make the new lifestyle work. i like this plan and will be trying it. Thanks to everyone .
Thank you Kay. Love your story.... I can relate to your earlier diet efforts. Been there done that. Thank you Dr Bert and Dr Judi for putting the inspiration out there.
This is inspirational. Thank you so much. I'm also trying fasting . I started with 12 then 14; presently at 16/8. I need to get in more fruits and vegetables though. I'm sticking with it.
I love this talk, i am 54 and as one knows im in menopause since 49..and the weight is piling up and i had no control.. But i just started the OMAD way of life. My goal is to weigh 70kg. I am currently weighing 86kg...it is hard in the beginning but so 3 days later the stomach settles down with the growling... This is my fourth day now with one meal a day and i eat just one plate of food.... I lhave also cut out sugar and milk in my coffee and tea. Something i had to get use to but if you serious about the weight struggle, the just shift ur mind and stay determined and the weight will fall. Good luck to all our menopause ladies... I understand the frustration of piling on weight and you have no control....
I feel the way this lady does I've been intermittent fasting for just over three months now 16/8 and i dont want to he a slave to dieting i know what i can and cant eat , i weigh 224 pound and im 61 and ive lost nine pounds which cosidering im not to active i think its good steady loss hopefully this lifestyle change is permanent 😊
It isn't. But since the 80s, the idea of snacking became popular. Fasting is a reaction against that. Also, our country has such an abundance of cheap food that is manufactured to taste great (sugar, fats, carbs combo) that people sometimes need nontraditional methods to combat that
When someone has tried lots of different things to lose weight, then finds something that works, a lot of emotional and psychologic weight is lost, too.
Very inspiring! And I needed that today! Thanks for sharing this testimonial. I'm desperate to lose belly fat and she sounds as if this is the answer. I have the book, I just need to use it.
Such an inspiration! I’ve been slack/ not in a firm habit yet. I have successfully been doing 16/8 moving into 18/6 but I think 19/5 - the fast 5 is where I want to be. I resonated with needing to have a regular daily habit. Everyday only - Alternate day is not fir me. Then it becomes quite effortless. I’ll keep on trying.
When your body gets used to 19/5, you should see appetite correction, which makes the rest relatively easy. It's still work, but it's far easier work than maintaining a traditional calorie-restriction diet.
@@slopez1901 Any schedule that feels right to you and works for you is fine. That's the key. Whether it's worked for me or others doesn't matter--it only has to work for you. If you don't see progress after a few weeks (at least 3) with your variable schedule, then it's time to try a more rigid schedule. If it does work--and I would bet in favor rather than against---then you've found some helpful flexibility that will make it easier to sustain the schedule as a lifestyle.
If you're under more stress than your body's used to, your body's self-preservation instincts can overwhelm every conscious effort you make. If this applies in your case, then there are only two ways to attack this very big challenge: 1) Try to reduce the stress by changing what you can (change jobs, avoid or confront certain family members, etc.) and 2) Try to reduce the effects stress has on your body by using relaxation techniques consistently (yoga, meditation, exercise, affirmations to name a few). They may take weeks to show a benefit--the body doesn't switch off appetite like a light).
